Josie fell off a spinning tire swing when she was five years old. Her family thought she had a concussion, but her symptoms kept getting worse. 

An MRI at the Stollery showed a cyst the size of an orange on her brain.

Anneliese is almost five years old and has been admitted to the Stollery 24 times. 

When her mom was 24 weeks pregnant, her parents learned she would need life-saving brain surgery shortly after birth. 

Since then, she has had multiple brain surgeries, most recently in 2020. She has undergone a surgery every calendar year of her life.
