Six-year-old Ariannah has been diagnosed as developmentally delayed, non-verbal and autistic. 

She has had several procedures including eye surgery and tubes in her ears and she's waiting on two more surgeries. 

Her dad Andy shares their story. 

At eight weeks old, Scout wasn't gaining weight so his parents took him to the doctor. He was sent from Saskatoon to Regina where he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and a hole in his heart. 

He was sent back to Saskatoon for surgery but as he was being wheeled into the OR, his surgery was cancelled because doctors wanted to get him to the Stollery ASAP. 

He spent 60 days in the PICU after his surgery, but today is a rough and tumble little boy!

Mom Regan share's Scout's story.

At five months old, Kashlyn had a routine eye exam in Lloydminster. The doctor noticed something wasn't right and referred her to the Stollery. 

They learned she was completely blind and was missing part of her pituitary gland from her brain. Earlier this year, doctors realized her thyroid levels were off. An ECG showed there were parts of her brain that were not developed.

Jenny Plume is the team lead for the Child Life program, a program aiming to promote a positive hospital experience for patients and their families. 

Aiming to minimize stress and anxiety for children and their families, Child Life provides patients with age-appropriate preparation for medical procedures, pain management and coping strategies. 

Sara was born with multiple health issues and has been admitted to the Stollery Children's Hospital more than 120 times in her six years. 

Though she can't see, walk, stand, sit or talk, her family says she has the most magnetic smile and will let you know how she's feeling with her smile.
