With prices at the grocery store sky rocketing, there has never been a better time to start gardening to create food sovereignty for you and your family. I started my gardening journey in the middle of the Florida summer in the first year of the pandemic. Elise Pickett specializes in urban farming, from her home in St. Pete. She is a great inspiration to me and I would not have made it through that summer without here videos. I still continue to learn so much from her YouTube channel and Instagram.

The Chef Grace's Place Podcast is a Food Podcast series dedicated to all things food. I have an interesting food person on every week. Although it is a lot of chef and cook related content, I am interested in ALL things food; farmers, doctors, homesteaders, real estate people that help you find your homestead, lawyers that shape food policies, National Treasures like Pat's King of Steaks, Kitchen Gadget Queens, Culinary Teachers; if it influences the way we eat I want to learn about it. So if you are an interesting food person reach out, I'd love to talk to you!

Come hang out with Jasmine and I as we talk about City Green! City Green is an urban farming and gardening organization I found out about through Instagram. Scrolling through I realized they were based right near where I grew up, in Paterson, Mt. Olive, and Clifton, NJ!
The more I do the podcast the more I recognize the importance of food sovereignty in our communities. It's organizations like City Green that are bringing that back to communities that would otherwise be a food deserts. They are not just supplying fresh food but they are also educating people about how to grow their own food!
