Chelsea never do things the easy way!

A hard fought, impressive second half comeback, from 2-0 down to 2-2, away at Newcastle as well as an initially difficult Carabao Cup tie against Cardiff, but in the end winning 3-1 thanks to Garnacho and Neto off the bench and qualifying us for the semi finals against either Arsenal or Crystal Palace.

Reece James was unbelievable at St. James' Park, with worldie of a free kick goal, insane last ditch defending and leading his team all over the pitch.

Not quite the perfect week, but a team and performance to be proud of.

As Chelsea get a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, taking the lead through Trevoh Chalobah despite being down to 10 men following the first half red card for Moises Caicedo.

Mikel Merino gets an equaliser for Arsenal, but if 11 man Chelsea battered Arsenal, even 10 blues were arguably the better team for large parts. Largely, thanks to Reece James. What a game from our skipper!

We move on to Leeds on Wednesday, can Maresca's Chelsea get back to winning and keep their good form going, or will we drop the 'typical' points against teams we should be beating?

Still on cloud 9, with UCL top 8 looking a lot more likely, looking ahead to another gigantic game on Sunday, against current league leaders, Arsenal.

Man City losing at Newcastle leaves Maresca's Blues 2nd in the Premier League, before facing Arsenal next weekend, shortly after taking on Barcelona, both at Stamford Bridge.

It could be a HUGE or rather depressing week for the Blues next week!

Chelsea head into the last international break of the year with a very good 3-0 win over Wolves and at time of recording, 2nd in the Premier League table. Meaning despite frustratingly dropping points against Qarabag in the Champions League, Maresca's Blues find themselves in pretty good form and in a decent position heading into the festive period.
