It was perfect.
Kat (Komfort Zone With A K) is back with another psychological thriller, this time it was their first watch of Black Swan (2010)
When professional ballet dancer Nina (Natalie Portman) finally secures the role of a lifetime as the Swan Queen in the studio's production of Swan Lake she thinks life can't be any better. There's something she needs to work on though, in this production she has to play the role of the innocent Swan Princess as well as the temptress Black Swan. As pressure mounts she believes that a fellow dancer might be trying to sabotage her, Lilly (Mila Kunis) who is the embodiment of freedom that Nina misses in her performance. She knows its only a matter of time until she is replaced like the lead before her, Beth (Winona Ryder). Not only that but her Mother (Barbara Hershey) has an emphatic need to keep her as innocent as possible. There's so much pressure and it's only a matter of time until Nina starts to crack.
So practice your pirouettes in the mirror at home, stop scratching the rash on your back and avoid sexual lesbian fantasies if you can as we verbally dance our way through Black Swan (2010)

There's Shadyside and Sunnyvale, there is no in between.
Dylan is ecstatic this week to be tackling one of their favourite movies and is more than happy to introduce me to it - Fear Street Part One 1994 (2021).
Deena and Sam used to be high school sweet hearts, that is until Sam moved from Shadyside to the far more affluent Sunnyvale, it's then their relationship fell apart. If there's one thing to know about this town it's that Sunnyvale and Shadyside don't mix. Sunnyvale is where the wealthy, the privileged and respectful citizens live while Shadyside has a bad history going all the way back to 1666. The legend of a witch that possesses people and makes them go insane circulates town and has done for decades...a fact that appears to be coming true when a seemingly psychotic attack at the local mall sets in motion a series of bizarre events.
So pay a visit to the candy-store, sign off from AOL chat and put on your moody teenage mixtape as we experience Fear Street Part One 1994 (2021)

Ready Or Not here we come.
Shawn joins Cherry Pop Horror this week with the amazingly hilarious Ready Or Not (2019)
Grace (Samara Weaving) is enjoying her wedding day. She's never had a family of her own and is excited to get to know and meet her husband's kin. Like every family the Le Domas have traditions, in their case Grace needs only to join them for a game come midnight of their wedding night; which makes sense given that the family amassed their fortune making board games. After being handed a mysterious box, one that determines which game to play, she draws the card for hide and seek. What the family fails to mention is that this is the one bad card to draw, if they manage to catch her she'll be sacrificed in the name of their patron. Start the countdown, let the game begin....
So watch a quick Youtube tutorial on how to use your crossbow, powder you nose with a dash of confidence and for the last time NO! Killing the maids does not count as a sacrifice.

Welcome to Santa Carla, the murder capital of the world.
Pip's come back to help me tackle Cherry Pop Horror's first vampire flick.
Brothers Michael and Sam, along with their mum Lucy, move out to California with their Grandfather in the sunny seaside town of Santa Carla...there's just one problem with this town, the suspicious number of missing persons.
Sam makes friends with the Frog Brothers, two boys who run a local comic book store who declare that the town is infested with Vampires. Meanwhile Michael follows a pretty girl and ends up joining the aforementioned Lost Boys, a group of bikers that wreak havoc throughout the town. It isn't until Michael discovers he's been tricked into becoming a vampire that all sides must work together to clear the nest and free Michael from his newly discovered hunger for blood.
So grab yourself a carton of Chinese, take a swig from the suspiciously gilded wine bottle and don't forget to read that comic book cause it might just save your life as we watch The Lost Boys (1987)

Jade comes back this week to talk about another comedy horror, this time it's Shaun Of The Dead (2004)
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is somewhat of a mess, stuck in a dead-end job, his relationship is falling apart and he goes through the day-to-day like a mindless slave. That is until after a particularly drunken night when he and his best friend Ed (Nick Frost) come to realize that the apocalypse has arrived. The dead are rising and hordes of zombies are roaming the streets but it's okay cause they've got a plan; collect their loved ones and head for the heavy doors of their local pub, The Winchester.
So grab your cricket bat, hog lumps and vinyl records, don't forget the flowers for Mother's day, cram your friends into your step-dad's Jaguar and come to the bar for shots as we look at Shaun Of The Dead (2004) - How's that for a slice of fried gold?

There'll never be another invention quite like the Telepod
Laura joins me back on the couch to talk a Cronenberg classic, The Fly (1986)
Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) has put his genius to the test by trying to master the science of teleportation. He can successfully transport inanimate objects but hasn't quite managed to figure out living cells. Veronica (Gina Davis) is following his progress as he makes discovery after discovery in this, the most ground-breaking of experiments...but it wouldn't be a horror movie unless things started to go horribly wrong.
So pet the baboon on your way in, grab a donut and make sure you're alone as we teleport with The Fly (1986)
