There's something in the corner of the room.
This week Eve sits down to talk about one of James Wan's first big movies. Before The Conjuring there was Insidious (2010)
Couple Josh, Renai and their three kids have just moved into a new house when Dolton (one of the couple's young boys) falls from the rung of a ladder. Things seem alright until the next morning when Dolton cannot be roused. Renai begins to experience paranormal events while Josh does his best to bury his head in the sand. It isn't until Josh's mother Lorraine and her psychic friend Elise turn up that questions get answered but not in the way the couple had hoped.
So grab your shark toy, jam out to tip-toe through the tulips and shy away from the camera as we talk Insidious (2010)

Sometimes you go for a swim and you just don't come back again.
Alice, a fourteen year old girl, went swimming with her family one day and vanished. Now we follow along as her family tries to track down whether or not Alice is really dead, if her ghost is among them or if all this is nothing but a hoax. A thrilling story with twists and turns galore.
This week Jake introduced me to this documentary style film that just drips with revelations and mystery.
So put your sneakers neatly against the bedroom door, tune the radio to Ray the psychic and leave the porch light on as we tackle Lake Mungo (2008)

Sometimes you just can't trust yourself to do the right thing.
Jess joins a group of strangers on a sailing trip after being asked out by a regular at the diner where she works. Everything's going well, with Greg giving all the signs of a caring and sweet potential boyfriend when the boat is capsized by a sudden storm. The group's escape comes in the form a cruise ship but the vessel is seemingly abandoned... that is until they begin to get murdered by a masked killer.
Leilani joins me this week with Triangle (2009), a strange and thrilling movie that'll keep you putting the pieces together right to the very end.
So meet us on the docks, grab a handful of fresh fruit and remember, hold on tightly to your keys as we tackle this sea bound nightmare.

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside. I do like to beside the sea.
Kat D returns this week to do a movie of their own request - Tusk (2014)
Wallace, a podcaster and all round douche-nozzle, heads to Canada to do a follow up interview with a kid who's become internet famous after accidently cutting their leg off with a samurai sword. Unfortunately the interview can't take place but, not wanting to waste the trip, Wallace calls an old man who claims to have interesting stories from his time in the navy. Things, however are not what they seem and Wallace is helplessly mutilated to the whim of his new, insane and walrus obsessed captor.
So, don't say anything bad about hockey, drink a mega-gulp slurpie and don't forget walrus don't cry as we talk Tusk (2014).

Ofelia, a young girl obsessed with fairytales, is thrust into the heart of a civil war. Spain 1944, is in turmoil as the fascist militia war the freedom fighting rebels. But there's something at the heart of those ruins that calls to her, a world of fairies, fauns and creatures from another world. She must choose between her Mother and soon-to-be brother or the chance to live as Princess of the Underworld.
So curl a vegetable knife to the rolls of your apron, take two drops from you blue medicine bottle...oh, and don't forget the mandrake needs milk and just a few drops of your blood as we watch Guillermo del Toro's, Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

It's here, our first werewolf movie and not a bad one to start things off - Silver Bullet (1985) based on a Stephen King short.
Marty, a wheelchair bound boy gets caught up in a series of murders in his small town, especially once he sees that the murderer is a supernaturally strong wolfman.
With the help of his sister and drunk uncle (Gary Busey) they must work together to find out who's the monster and stop them before it's too late.
We're letting off fireworks, travelling 300mph in a three wheeled wheelchair and climbing houses, trees and buildings with just our arms in this 1980's horror romp.

CHERRY-PIE , that means neither myself nor my guest had seen the movie before the podcast.
This week I'm joined by Destiny (from The Komfort Zone With A K podcast) to do Cherry Pop Horror's first animated feature.
Miriam, with her business failing, accepts an invitation to meet with her estranged and abusive father in the hopes of receiving some inheritance. Sadly there's no touching reunion to be had as she and her siblings are put in deadly games as designed by their father to punish them for their trespasses. But their father is not the only one who's playing a game...
Destiny and I get to talking about sibling rivalries, doctor who and the evils of kink-shaming with 2019's To You Last Death.

It's time to be 'woke' everyone.
Dylan and I sit together with They/Them (2022). Is this the step forward for the LGBT+ commuity that we've been waiting for?
A group of young adults is dropped off at a conversion camp under the pretence of 'curing' them of their homosexuality or gender 'abnormalities'. As time progresses they start to notice more and more oddities with the staff that hint that this summer camp is far darker than expected - not only that but a masked figure seems to be stalking the camp grounds with unknown motives.
Boys, it's time to man up, grab a gun and be the killer they're looking for, while girls head to the kitchen to make pie 'cause there's no greater joy than learning your place in society... (it saddens me to even joke like this)...
As we tackle this critique of a movie.

Kat (The Komfort Zone With A K) comes back this week with another emotional rollercoaster of a movie.
This time we're talking the family drama of The Sixth Sense (1999). An established child psychologist discovers a young boy showing the same symptoms as a patient he'd treated earlier in his career, a patient who later tried to kill him before killing themselves. It's time to discover just what makes this kid so damn afraid.
Pop tarts are in the high cupboard, so grab yourself a pack and settle in as the temperature drops, no reason to make yourself sick over this ghostly story.

'Aliens' - Insert meme here.
This week Jess sits down with me to talk through a movie that scared her when it first came out, The Fourth Kind (2009). Milla Jovovich plays a psychologist in the reenactment as told by a second actress which may have at some point been based on a true story...
It's several scoops of alien encounters, conspiracy on the side with just a dash of woeful negligence to top it off. So join us as we try to remember the owls...no there were no owls at all? In this sci-fi alien encounter flick.
