With the worker shortage predicted to last until at least 2030 we are seeing many companies look at new ways to engage with their retiring workforce. Baby Boomers (Zoomers) are choosing to delay retirement OR they are retiring as planned and then looking for projects and contract work. This approach is a win win for both companies and the retiree. The company gets to retain long time experience and knowledge but without rehiring on a full time basis. The typical arrangement for a returnship is short term projects, contracts or season work. A lot of the returnships are used to help companies focus on focused knowledge transfer. Listen in for more on this interesting trend.
