However, we need to remind ourselves of what God has done and that He will continue to be faithful. Listen to this sermon about Jesus’ final words to His disciples about not letting your heart be troubled in the seventh part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | Love Exemplified

How would you spend the last hours of your life? In Jesus’ final hours, He lived with urgency to give His disciples final instructions, and He exemplified what those instructions were. During the Last Supper, Jesus exemplified to His disciples what it meant to be a servant by washing His disciples’ feet. Through this act of service, love was exemplified. Moreover, love was exemplified when He told Peter that he was clean. It is only through Jesus and what He did on the cross that we are clean. Listen to this sermon about Jesus’ final words to His disciples and love exemplified in the sixth part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | Your Influence Matters

We all have influence and we are also being influenced. Just as Joshua did with the children of Israel in his life, we each have a limited amount of time that we will have an influence on earth. In Joshua’s time as the leader of the children of Israel, we see how he influenced others and how his influence carried over into the next generation. Similarly, we will influence people to live for the Lord or live for themselves. Before Joshua could ever lead or influence anyone, he had to be surrounded by the right influence. We must do the same. Who are you being influenced by and whom are you influencing? Listen to this sermon about your influence in the fifth part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | God’s Covenant with You

Joshua wants the children of Israel to succeed. He wants them to accomplish what God has promised to them and he establishes a covenant for the children of Israel. In this covenant that was going to be established, it was going to be established so that they could remember their commitment to God. It was also setting the state to where they could hold each other accountable, where they could hold each other responsible for what they had committed to do. Joshua was hoping that this covenant would be set in place to motivate them on the days that they were ready to uncommit, on the days that they were ready to turn back and run to their old ways. For us, we still have a covenant with God, but through Jesus. Listen to this sermon about God’s covenant with His people in the fourth part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | Remove Your Idols

As the children of Israel declare that they will serve the Lord, Joshua reminds them that in order to be devoted to the Lord they must remove all idols and incline their hearts to God. With this reminder from Joshua, what are we elevating in our lives above God? What are we loving, trusting, and serving more than God? We are devoted to so many things today. We cannot make a transaction step of faith without any devotion. Being His follower, being His disciple, requires devotion. That devotion requires us to put away the idols of our lives. From self-image to fear to popularity to comfort to money, we must remove the things that are getting worship from us instead of God. Listen to this sermon about removing the idols in our lives and inclining our hearts to God in the third part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | Make Your Choice to Serve God

We all have choices to make every day. What we eat, what we wear, whom we marry, where we’ll go to college, etc. Joshua is discussing choices that the children of Israel will have to face. Joshua is challenging the children of Israel of what they are going to do next. He is wanting them to remember where they had been so they could step in faith for where they were going. He is telling them when they remember the faithfulness let it take them to a place of awe. As a result of this awe and wonder, we ought to walk in obedience living for Him. Let what God has done be what propels us forward to what He is calling us to do. Even as a child of God and follower of Jesus, we believe that God provides everything we need. There is a world telling us the exact opposite. Are you going to run to the world’s ways or run to God? That’s your choice. There are choices that have to be made. What choice will you make? Listen to this sermon about making your choice to serve God in the second part of our Start to Finish series.

  • Start to Finish | Remember God's Faithfulness

In looking ahead to 2023, before we move forward, we are going to take some time to look back. The same God who is calling you in 2023 is the same God who was faithful in 2022. God is always faithful from start to finish. In looking to Joshua 24, we see that this is Joshua’s farewell letter to the children of Israel. He reminds In the beginning, he gathers them to Schecham, their holy ground. Joshua is taking them back to remind them of all that God has done so He can give them the instruction of what their assignment is as He departs. Before we move into 2023, take time to remember where God has brought us from, to remember what God has brought us through. Go to your Schechem and thank Him. Listen to this sermon about remembering God’s faithfulness in the first part of our Start to Finish series.

  • New Year's Day | Make Us Uncomfortable

As we enter into a new year, our prayer for us, as a church, in this upcoming year is that God will throw things at us that make us very uncomfortable. If God is calling us, as a church, to be uncomfortable, then God will call you as an individual to be uncomfortable and do extreme things because you are part of the team. In looking at Elijah and Elisha, we see how God called Elisha out of his place of comfort and his routine. For many of us, we need to be awakened from our routine in 2023. If we are pursuing what God has called us to do, we will be uncomfortable. Listen to this New Year’s Day sermon about God making us uncomfortable to accomplish His work in 2023.

  • Prepare | Prepare for the Gift

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior on Christmas Day, we focus on the wise men and how God prepared them to meet the Savior. Through their knowledge of astronomy and Old Testament prophecies, God used the very things the wise men loved to show them the birth of the Savior that would change their lives. Upon meeting Jesus, they worshiped Him and offered Him gifts. Looking to the wise men’s response, we see how we should worship Him and how God can use the very things we love and surrender to Him to be used by God for His glory. Listen to this Christmas Day sermon about how God used the wise men in their journey to discover the Savior in the fourth part of our Prepare series.
