Festival Feelings - INmusic Festival 2017

On this Episode of China Calling - it's that time of the year again! It's hot, humid and we're ready for the summer and the European Festivals - Special Episodes on China Calling! Not even few days since our last festival hopping in China, we are about to board the plane and head west. Europe is calling and we'll be bringing you the news, updates, and music from some of the hottest Festivals around!

Follow our host Vlatka, as she's jumping from one country to another and discover new sounds and festivals. Starting with the INmusic Festival in Zagreb, Croatia to Exit Festival in Serbia, the FM4 Frequency Festival in Austria to closing parties of the Reading Festival in England. Discover the best music festivals in Europe and be prepared for live unique experiences. Our first summer feeling music festival will take us to a small island named the 'Youth Island' in the middle of Croatian's capital Zagreb, on the Lake Jarun.

INmusic Festival is Croatia's biggest open-air festival and is held in the country's capital Zagreb from the 19th to the 21st of June. The festival has established itself as one of the best on the continent, thanks to its on-point lineups and an inclusive vibe. Inviting a selection of international rock and indie artists over the year that has included Florence and the Machine, PJ Harvey, Jake Bugg this year the festival promises to be bigger than ever. The lineup includes the likes of Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Arcade Fire, Alt-J, Slaves and much more over the 3 days in the tranquility of the Lake District and its dense forests and blue waters. With that impressive lineup, INmusic has to be one of Europe's greatest smaller size festivals and we are ready to see what the buzz is all about! See you at the INmusic 2017!

This week on China Calling- Douban Wetware Music Festival just happened in Beijing and your host Vlatka caught up with Mark Reeder best known for his work on B-movie Lust & Sound of West Berlin. Reeder left Manchester for Berlin in the late 70s became Tony Wilson's Factory Records 'man in Berlin', he was responsible for bringing Joy Division to Germany, hung out with Nick Cave, founded MFS, the first independent dance music label in East Germany as well as discovered Paul Van Dyk in the 90s among many other things. Your host Vlatka caught up with Reeder about that time, techno, communism, bands like Stolen from Chengdu and bunch of other things, plus new music coming from the Wetware Douban Music Festival in Beijing.
