Chinese Medicine and Master Herbalist Crosses Over to Cannabis and CBD as we hear from  Dr. Jenelle Kim, Founder and Formulator of JBK Wellness Labs..

Dr. Kim is likely the formulator behind some of the brands that you love! Dr. Kim is a doctor of Chinese medicine and master herbalist, she studied alongside some of the most profound doctors in Asia. Her proprietary formulations have been passed down from her family lineage and she is now the custodian, the first female in her family to do so. She has made it her life's mission to educate people about the benefits of natural products by explaining that our bodies work in synch with natural products versus synthetic ingredients. She was approached in 2012 to formulate one of the first CBD tinctures, reluctant at first because she wanted to make sure that these products were being used for the right purpose, which they were. 

She formulated CBD that was part of the first rounds of research in discovering that cannabis helped children suffering from seizures. Incorporating herbs in the formulation process with cannabis which is 1 of 50 fundamental herbs in Chinese medicine creates a more bioavailable product for the body. JBK Wellness Labs is also opening their white label division which will give smaller companies the opportunities to have access to her herbal formulations. Prior to now JBK Wellness Labs was only working with large brands that needed high volume units and the fact that they are opening their lab to a larger audience is something they never thought they would do but as Dr. Kim's goal is to share the benefits of natural products and herbal formulation with as many people as possible. 

Dr. Kim and JBK Wellness Labs were also the first to create a luxury CBD skincare line, Cannabis Beauty Defined which was launch on 2013 at CosmoProf North America.
