Scotty gives some credit and blame to the audience on where we stand as a podcast. The Chip Time boys then dive into Coach's Corner to brainstorm what drives a successful mindset on race day. Our very first friend of the program returns to recap his experience volunteering at the USA Olympic Trials at the new Hayward Field in Eugene, OR. Scotty also gives some injury guidance and has a social media confession to make.

In one of the most legendary exchanges in Chip Time history, Scotty sits down with 2021 NCAA D3 All-American Nick Hoffman (via Zoom) to get to know his background, how training during the pandemic was, and what led to huge PR's in the mile and 1500 this year. 

The Chip Time team is fired up at our latest 5-star review! Scotty breaks down the science of altitude training and comments on how his Achilles is holding up. We then transition to our first Olympic Preview - the Men's 10K - with a full spotlight on Uganda's top distance runners.

Coach's Corner continues with advice and some self-encouragement for the recent discomfort Scotty has started having in his right Achilles tendon. We then pivot to "Runners you need to know" highlighting Jenny Simpson's career including a race recap of her 2011 World Title in the 1500 10 years later.

Scotty opens up with a vacation recap and one of his coaching/training philosophies. Mike joins for a 12-mile long run, and a recap of the US Olympic Trials 1500 including Hobbs Kessler's (aka Harry Potter) decision to turn pro at age 18. Scotty then closes with some winners and losers from the Trials as a whole.

Scotty answers another FAQ, this time about why he enjoys watching running on TV. The boys get a nice VO2 session on the dirt roads, and then Rob hangs around for an exclusive interview about his running background. We then cap off another edition of "runners you need to know" with local hero and new Olympic qualifier Grant Fisher.

The boys meet up for a long run, and despite some audio recording blunders by Scotty, have a great conversation previewing the Olympic Trials. Also, do burritos have steroids?
