We're back with Annette, favorite sister and co-host!
A conversation we had in the car has become the focus of this week's topic: how should we approach Fence Laws?
A fence law is something that is designed to protect us and keep us safe, but has the potential of sidetracking us and focusing on the less important.
How have Fence Laws affected your relationship with the Savior?

This week, Kristi is back with her husband, Jeff.
Jeff is an advocate for the "Five Second Rule," where you act on thoughts, impressions, inspiration, or promptings within five seconds.
Otherwise, you might talk yourself out of doing something good.
Jeff teaches what the rule is and how it has changed his life.

While I was getting my private pilot license many years ago, I learned from Jim, my flight instructor, that I needed to trust my instruments.
"You can't trust your body. Your body will lie to you. You HAVE to trust your instruments. If you don't trust your instruments, you WILL die."
That sounded ominous. But it was true. It still is.
Fortunately, we have instruments--outside perspectives--that make it easier to know what to trust and believe.
Trust your instruments.

I recently recorded a digital fireside about Loving Yourself and Loving Others.
The thoughts that came up for me connected well with last week's discussion on accepting things as they are, so I thought I would share.
First, Love Yourself. Find out who you are, and embrace it.
That makes it easier to love others.
Yeah, that's a shortcut. So listen for more insights.

This week, we talk about how having imperfect bodies can affect our experience in this life.
Having unrealistic expectations can reduce our experience, and can intensify our dissatisfaction.

This week, we dig into a different way to understand scriptures.
Meet Kristy Ford. Kristy and I were chatting recently, and she told me about something that has changed the way she understands the scriptures.
She dives deep into the meaning of a word.
This week, we discuss how a deeper understanding of words can enhance our experience in scripture study.

Favorite Co-host Annette, along with favorite co-host daughter, Allison, combine forces to discuss Faith and Certainty.
The relationship between faith, knowledge, and certainty is complex, so we spend a few minutes deconstructing what the difference is between faith and certainty

Who gets to decide whether something is "good" or "evil?"
Is a "bad" experience, if it makes us better, "bad," or is it "good?"
This week, Annette joins in the discussion to expand on what we think about Good and Evil, and whether EVERYTHING that is Good comes from God.

Once again, we talk with Annette, and we discuss how having agency (our own, and the agency for whom we have stewardship) impacts our individual struggle--and the struggle of others.

Favorite Co-host Annette brings an interesting comment: sometimes we make our own hard things become God's will.
Meaning that we decide that it is God's will that we experience specific hard things.
We discuss what we think that means and how that might play into our lives.
Would love to hear your thoughts. [email protected]
