This Clubhouse Mastermind on Controlled Emotions took a bit of a twist and became more of a discussion about faith. I was just about to close out the room when a young gentleman named Ashish entered.
You may want to go back to listen to Part 1, Episode 091: Your Mind Creates Your Feelings: Practicing Self-Control to Improve Emotional Health to have a better idea of the backdrop to our chat.
He was drawn to the title of the room "The Controlled-Emotions Mindset" because he was personally struggling with handling his emotions.
During our chat he shared a personal and life-altering childhood memory that he felt shaped him and had negatively impacting him to this day.
We talked about:
Needless to say, I was not prepared really for this type of discussion, but I did my very best.
I encouraged him to read through Psalm 139 (one of my favs) to begin to unpack just how much God loves him and has a great plan for him.
I wish I had thought about the passage where Jesus's disciples asked Him how to pray (Matthew 6) - this would have been such a simple answer to Ashish's question on prayer.
I would truly love to know your thoughts on this really important episode of the show - perhaps my most important to date! Please email me at [email protected] with your feedback!
The podcast has now been heard in 35 countries. I feel so humbled so often to think that maybe this tiny little show, broadcast out of Midway, Kentucky, could impact the lives of others so far away. May God alone be glorified.

2 Part Clubhouse Mastermind on Controlled Emotions. Be sure to catch Episode 093 for Part 2.
Psalm 133 speaks of the sweetness and pleasantness of unity among brothers--and offers us two striking metaphors for this unity: oil and dew. In today's episode we chat about Moses and Aaron (real-life brothers) as well as unity amidst diversity in our 21st century world.
We conclude with the reminder that God made unity possible through the giving of His One and Only Son. The call is for us to consider our own relationships and to get rid of any toxic thoughts that may be causing division.
Check out this I CHOOSE GOD'S PRESENCE to remind you that God is always with you and He anoints you to do good work for His glory!

The expectancy mindset is crucial for emotional self-care and well being. Too often, we focus more on preconceived notions about our day, our life, our situations which cause us to sink into negative feedback loops in our minds and brains.
Today's show walks us through the importance of fostering an expectancy mindset as well as how to practice it daily with practical examples. This mindset will help you avoid overwhelm, fear, and distress.

What personal stories of victory do you have?
In what areas of your life have you been an overcomer?
Have you beaten a really bad habit once and for all?
Have you won recently at a sports event? Or maybe received a special certificate of achievement?
Did you set a goal and achieve it?
Are you a dream chaser, not letting go, not giving up on something that you know is a good idea?
I might venture to say that every HERO made the win first in his or her mind. You and I can do the same!
