Chord Progression Podcast: The Gateway to New Rock and Metal Music

In this episode, Kevin is solo reviewing the first week of Summerfest, including how the crowd for August Burns Red tipped the benches in order to mosh, and what the festival can do so we can mosh, but also do it without having to tip over benches.

Then Kevin reviews the new Alter Bridge single "Wouldn't You Rather" and rambles on about doing what makes you happy. It may be a shorter podcast but the rambles are in full force.

Kevin calls one of his best friends, Chris, and they discuss the 2019 state of rock music halfway through the year. They talk about what they have loved and enjoyed in music in the first half, and what they really didn't like. They also preview the new music set to drop in the second half of 2019 and what they are looking forward to the most. They also go off on multiple tangents regarding what is happening with rock music in pop culture, potential crazy ideas for music festivals, and of course stories from their friendship. It's a long one but yes it is a great one.

Trivial Difference, a thrash metal band out of Alexandria, VA stops by the show to talk about what got them into music, what their take is on the music scene in the Washington DC area, and all 5 members tell us some crazy stories about their experiences going to concerts and performing as well. This group of young guys have an energy about them that is young, fresh, and overall fun to be around. This was an incredibly enjoyable conversation with the guys and you will definitely enjoy it.

At the end, Kevin gives you his hot takes on new music, such as both new Skillet tracks released from Victorious, and Volbeat's latest single. He also quickly goes into Alter Bridge with the announcement of Walk The Sky, the band's 6th album and what he thinks will become of it.

Motionless In White released Disguise on June 7th and who better to talk to on the podcast this week than Cadence, one of the biggest MIW fans out there. She is back to discuss the album with Kevin, and they get into a little bit ore of a conversation about life as well. Hey, it happens.
