Paul Robbins returns after a great 'Tools of the Trade' appearance - this time to discuss techniques. Jay Crawford is inducted into the Frediani Hall of Fame for his brilliant charitable nature and fundraising for his local children's charity.

Keith Langton (K L Langton Decorative Plasterwork Ltd.) follows up on his appearance last month joining us for Technique of the Week this time to discuss techniques used in decorative plasterwork, some of the differences in decorative work compared to domestic and discusses some of his recent cornice work...

Lee Clough joins Chris for Tools of the Trade - chatting tools old and new. We've also got Ian Condon, a six week site ready skim course graduate on the show, to discuss retraining later in life and finding a passion for plastering.

Chris is joined by Lee & Paul - two regulars on DIY SOS in the Lancashire area talking tools and techniques. Chris also has his say on the fundamentals and evolution of plastering. Also, an update on Chris' latest jobs and another classic plastering story from the past.

Francesca Roberts, CEO of CRASH joins Chris to discuss the great work the charity does, how beneficial their partnership with British Gypsum has been from the start, How the pandemic has affected the charity, What you can do to help and the Christmas Card Appeal CRASH run every year. Simon Lawson, A veteran plasterer who has worked with Chris on many DIY SOS episodes around the Bristol area joins us for 'Tools of the Trade'. He discusses tools old and new and has a laugh with Chris.

Tom Coulton, Multi Skills Lecturer from Bernardo's YouthBuild Project in Lewisham rounds off the episode discussing teaching potential future plasterers aged 16-29 and helping find a career path that is right for them.

Gary Comber - a plasterer that Chris first started out with, joins us for 'Tools of the Trade' and reminisces with Chris about his (Chris') first days on site as well as talking us through his favourite tools old and new...

Steve Bowness - a Plastermind winner on the British Gypsum Certified Scheme Member Facebook Group joins Chris to tell us a bit about the competition, why it's worth getting involved and gives us a bit of background to his career as a builder that plasters

Ruth Waters - a graduate of the British Gypsum Site Ready Skimming Course is on for Chris' 'Future Plasterers' segment. Chris is thrilled with Ruth's passion and knowledge of the trade, Ruth tells us how the course gave her a real foot up in her budding career as a plasterer and discusses current on site experience and what the work involves.

On ‘Technique of the Week’, Chris is joined by Dylan White (D. White Plastering) to discuss the struggles and lessons to be learnt in setting up your own business. Chris gives Dylan some advice on how to push on with his new plastering business and Dylan and Chris discuss mentoring apprentices on site - the balance between honesty, constructive criticism and positive reinforcement.


Steve Edwards, Plastering Lecturer at the Leeds College of Building joins Chris for ‘Tools of the Trade’ to discuss one of the most important tools plasterers have to work with - their body!

Steve himself had to retire from plastering in his early 40s due to persistent back pain and was lucky enough to find a career path teaching the trade. Steve still has to have a lot of physio and now makes sure to teach the younger generation of plasterers the importance of self preservation and working sensibly when on site.


For Frediani’s Hall of Fame this week we’re changing pace slightly to reflect on the importance of mental health with World Mental Health Day on Saturday. Stephen Haynes from Mates in Mind, a construction focussed mental health charity joins Chris to discuss the importance of having a dialogue in the workplace in regards to mental wellbeing. Chris asks for some practical advice on how plasterers (and trades people in general) can approach co-workers they’ve sometimes known for years and ask open and leading questions that can help start a conversation around mental health.

Keith Langton discusses some of the tools used in decorative plasterwork, Bob Hay from Hay Plastering and Rendering joins us for technique of the week, Bradley Pearl a North West Skills Academy Ltd graduate gets some words of advice from Chris in our future plasterers segment and Chris also reads out some of your messages into the show.

Chris inducts Mark Hardman for all of his charitable work and mentoring young plasterers. Bradleigh Hancock returns for Technique of the Week, Pete Baum (a technical training rep for BG) discusses setting future plasterers off on the best foot possible & Chris kicks off with another memorable plastering story from DIY SOS.
