What do you do when you have prayed, trusted God, and the answer still has not come? In this short personal testimony, Pastor Chris Teien shares a story from early in his marriage about needing to sell a car before the insurance bill was due.
After weeks of praying and waiting, it looked like the answer was not coming. Then, at the very end of the deadline they had prayed about, someone showed up with cash and bought the car. This story is a reminder that God’s timing is often different from ours, but we can keep praying and trusting Him while we wait.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: PRAY SPECIFICALLY AND WITH CONFIDENCE
Chris and his wife had a practical financial need and brought it directly to God. They prayed through several promises of Scripture, asking God to provide a buyer and trusting Him with the outcome. Prayer does not have to be vague. We can honestly tell God what we need and confidently bring our requests to Him. (John 14:13–14; Matthew 7:7–8; John 15:7)
2: KEEP TRUSTING WHEN THE ANSWER SEEMS LATE
Weeks passed without the car selling, and eventually the deadline they had prayed about arrived. Chris prayed honestly about his disappointment while still acknowledging that God might have a different plan or timetable. Faith sometimes means continuing to trust when the answer has not come when we expected. (1 John 5:14–15; Philippians 4:6–7)
3: WATCH FOR GOD’S PROVISION
Late that night, the buyer returned with cash and took the car. After all the waiting, the answer came at nearly the last possible moment. Sometimes God allows us to reach the end of what we can arrange ourselves so that when provision comes, we recognize His hand more clearly and give Him the glory.
BE ENCOURAGED
If you are waiting on an answer today, keep praying. Be honest with God about what you need and how you feel. Do what you can responsibly, but trust Him with the timing and outcome. The answer may not come when or how you expect, but God is still able to provide in ways that remind you He has been listening all along.

How can you keep loving and serving when your season of life changes? Drawing from Ecclesiastes 3:1–11, Pastor Chris Teien explores how beginnings, busy years, transitions, and difficult seasons offer opportunities to trust God and care for others.
Using spring, summer, fall, and winter as illustrations, this message encourages you to recognize your present responsibilities and remain open to what comes next. Discover how to receive support, share wisdom, and express Christ’s love wherever you are in life.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1. RECOGNIZE GOD’S TIMING IN EVERY SEASON
Ecclesiastes describes a time for different experiences, including joy, sorrow, building, and letting go. We cannot understand everything God is doing, but we can seek wisdom for the season before us. Consider how to respond faithfully to change and recognize opportunities to love others within it. (Ecclesiastes 3:1–11)
2. SPRING: A SEASON OF PREPARATION AND NEW BEGINNINGS
Spring pictures fresh starts, preparation, and growth. Whether you are beginning a relationship, raising young children, or starting again after a change, seek God’s guidance and welcome wise encouragement. Support others who are learning and adjusting to unfamiliar responsibilities. (Isaiah 43:19; Proverbs 3:5–6; 1 Thessalonians 5:11)
3. SUMMER: A SEASON OF FRUITFULNESS AND ACTIVITY
Summer illustrates busy seasons filled with work, family, relationships, and ministry. Use your opportunities to serve humbly in love while making room for spiritual nourishment and rest. Let your activity reflect care for people and devotion to Christ. (Galatians 5:13)
4. FALL: A SEASON OF TRANSITION AND REFLECTION
Fall pictures change, harvest, and preparation for what lies ahead. Shifting family roles, career changes, and later adulthood can create new opportunities to invest in others. Share what you have learned, welcome changing responsibilities, and help younger people grow in faith. (Titus 2:3–5)
5. WINTER: A SEASON OF ENDURANCE AND REST
Winter represents seasons that call for patience, trust, and a slower pace. Hardship and changing abilities do not remove your value or place among God’s people. Receive needed care, rest in His promises, and consider how prayer, encouragement, and faithful presence can continue blessing others. (Romans 5:3–5; Psalm 46:10)
BE ENCOURAGED
Your present season offers a meaningful opportunity to love. Consider what needs your attention now and what expectations you may need to release. Encourage someone beginning a new chapter, share wisdom with a younger believer, or accept support during a difficult season. Ask God to help you follow Him faithfully and care for others through life’s changes.

What does real love look like beyond feelings, attraction, or approval? Pastor Chris Teien explores how Jesus reveals God’s love and teaches His followers to express it through patience, kindness, humility, sacrifice, and truth.
Drawing from John 15:9–12 and 1 Corinthians 13, discover why abiding in Christ matters for everyday relationships. As you receive His love and respond to His Word, you can grow in your ability to care for others with the grace He has shown you.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1. WITHOUT JESUS, LOVE IS EMPTY
Paul explains that impressive words, spiritual gifts, and costly acts accomplish nothing without love. God’s love is revealed through Jesus, who gave Himself for us. Depend on Christ as you seek to love God wholeheartedly and care for your neighbor. (1 Corinthians 13:1–3; John 3:16; John 15:5–12; Matthew 22:37–39)
2. LOVE IS THE EVIDENCE OF ABIDING IN CHRIST
Jesus calls His followers to remain in His love and love one another as He has loved them. Scripture describes love through practical qualities, including patience, kindness, humility, truthfulness, and endurance. Let His Word examine your attitudes and guide how you respond when relationships become difficult. (John 15:9–12; 1 Corinthians 13:4–7)
3. LOVE FLOWS FROM JESUS THROUGH YOU TO OTHERS
John teaches that God’s love moves believers to love one another. The grace you receive through Christ gives you a pattern and motivation for extending care to others. Look for ways to listen, serve, forgive, and encourage people in the circumstances before you. (John 7:38; 1 John 4:7–12; 1 Corinthians 13:8)
BE ENCOURAGED
You can express Christ’s love through your next response. Read John 15:9–12 and consider one relationship where you need greater patience, kindness, or humility. Ask Jesus for help, then choose a practical act of care: listen without interrupting, offer encouragement, or take responsibility for hurtful words. Keep drawing near to Him as you learn to love others.

2. ALIGN YOUR HEART WITH GOD’S KINGDOM

3. STEWARD YOUR TIME, TALENTS, AND RESOURCES FAITHFULLY
Jesus’ parable describes servants entrusted with different amounts and held responsible for their stewardship. Your abilities, opportunities, and resources give you ways to serve. 4. SET YOUR MIND ON ETERNAL THINGS
Paul urges those raised with Christ to set their hearts and minds on things above. Remembering your future with Jesus helps you approach present responsibilities with purpose. 5. PURSUE WHAT WILL LAST FOREVER
Your life is found in Christ, and His return gives you lasting hope. Share the gospel, invest in people, and use your resources to support His work. Seek to be faithful to Jesus with the opportunities He has given you. (Colossians 3:3–4; Acts 1:8)

2. RESTART YOUR PAST
Forgetting what lies behind does not erase your history or remove the need to make things right. It means refusing to let past failure, regret, or achievement determine your present direction.
