Asking for a sign is simply a rejection of the greatest sign we will ever receive; and that, of course, is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

We are either for Jesus or we are against Him.  There is no neutral ground.

We approach the King “with confidence of his fatherly goodness. . ." (WLC #189) because we are not only citizens of His Kingdom, we are His sons and daughters.

Unlike Martha who was busy preparing a meal for Jesus, Mary was enjoying the table that had been set before her and was feasting upon Christ and His Word. 

The law was never intended to be used as a ladder to climb into God’s good graces.  It was given to those whom he had already lavished with His grace.

What brings you the greatest joy?  If we answer in any other way than our salvation, we need to try again.  May we behold the beauty and wonder of our God in the person and work of Christ.
