The Third in the series on "Belonging" highlights the fact that God preserves our uniqueness. In the book of Revelation many tribes and tongues are gathered around the throne proving that God recognizes our unique distinctions. Each people group has its own language and tribal identity. We too as a church are a tribe and a tongue that serves the Lord.

Identification is the key to the first stage of Christian growth.

We are in week two of our belonging series and Jesus told His followers to get in the boat and leave their comforts behind. Jesus wants us to belong to Him and nothing else. Are you in or are you out, Jesus says you belong in the boat.

This series reviews the stages of Christian growth that every Christian goes through unto matrity.

Accroding to Matthew 11:28 the spirit of belonging is expressed in three key expressions. 1) Finding rest in Christ. 2) Being yoked to Jesus. 3) Learning from Him gentleness and humility. With these three traits of Jesus we can bring the lost into a place of belonging.

Belonging is essential to our health and well being. Jesus called the lost to come and belong to Him; to no longer be displaced and alone. The church must remember that we are here to provide a place for the lost to belong. We must create an atmosphere of belonging for all who enter our doors.
