Above the expanse over their heads was the likeness of a throne with the appearance of sapphire, and on the throne high above was a figure like that of a man. — Ezekiel 1:26

The presence of a human figure upon the sapphire throne confirms that the God of Israel has permanently united Himself to our nature. This union ensures that our representative now reigns in the heavenly realms with the fullness of deity dwelling in Him bodily. Because He remains the God-Man, our access to the Father rests on His ongoing mediation, once dead, now alive forevermore.

Then Moses said, “Please show me Your glory.” — Exodus 33:18

Moses' request for glory points to humanity's deepest need, yet that glory is only fully seen in the face of Christ, the eternal Son who became flesh. By the Spirit, believers are being transformed into that same glory, a work that culminates in seeing Christ as He is. This reveals that true knowledge of God is not abstract information but a life-changing encounter with His presence.

“They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the day when I prepare My treasured possession. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him. — Malachi 3:17

The Father chose a people to be His treasured possession and gave them to the Son. Jesus secured their place in His presence forever, preparing a home that cannot be lost. On the last day He will return to gather them and unveil the eternal decree in visible glory. God's crown and royal diadem are His people, displayed for all to see.

The trees of the LORD have their fill, the cedars of Lebanon that He planted, — Psalm 104:16

God alone makes His people flourish; He is the dew, the gardener, and the soil beneath every root. Trusting in the Lord plants a person in a life-giving source that no drought or famine can touch. The proud and self-sufficient are brought low, while the humble and withered are raised to bear fruit even in old age. Your growth, from first shoot to final leaf, is the Lord's own doing.

At that time those who feared the LORD spoke with one another, and the LORD listened and heard them. So a scroll of remembrance was written before Him regarding those who feared the LORD and honored His name. — Malachi 3:16

God's attention to His people is active and personal, turning even ordinary conversations into moments of eternal significance. Because He keeps a scroll of remembrance, our words carry weight beyond the present moment and are woven into His ongoing purposes. This reality gives believers confidence that fellowship in His name is never wasted, for He who hears also remembers and will honor every faithful word.

When He struck the rock, water gushed out and torrents raged. But can He also give bread or supply His people with meat?” — Psalm 78:20

True satisfaction is found only in the person of Christ, who alone provides the sustenance the human heart desperately seeks. Every worldly pursuit is a broken cistern that cannot hold the living water only God gives. Because the Son was pierced in history for our sins, eternal life now flows freely to all who come to Him.

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body is full of darkness. — Luke 11:34

Spiritual sight comes only by God's sovereign action; no human effort can produce it. Because the unregenerate heart treats the Spirit's truths as foolishness, believers depend entirely on divine illumination to grasp the glory of God in Christ. The light God commands into the heart becomes a transforming power, so the Christian life increasingly mirrors the brightness that first pierced their darkness.

While it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work. — John 9:4

Believers are so joined to Christ that His mission becomes their daily work, and their toil carries eternal meaning. To die in the Lord is to enter His Sabbath rest while the fruit of that union follows into glory. The present urgency becomes a privilege when believers labor with Christ, whose rest is already theirs.

But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony. — Luke 16:25

God's final comfort for His people rests entirely on the Lamb's grace. The great reversal proves that divine mercy will overcome every injustice and every tear. Because the Lamb shepherds His people, their sorrow ends forever.

No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders. But you will name your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. — Isaiah 60:18

The security of God's people rests entirely on His saving work, not on any defense they build for themselves. The Spirit joins every believer into one dwelling place, anchored to the historical witness of the apostles, so that God lives among His redeemed in Christ. Because salvation is wholly God's doing, the lasting climate of the redeemed life is praise.
