Now from the fig tree learn her parable. That if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.Mat 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.Mat 24:45 Jesus Describes the Wise Servant Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household to give them their food in due time?

Mat 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.Mat 24:47 Truly I say to you, that he will set him over all that he has.Mat 24:48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart: My lord’s coming is delayed,Mat 24:49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants and shall eat and drink with the drunkards,Mat 24:50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he does not expect him and in an hour when he does not know,Mat 24:51 and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Hear him!Mat 17:6  And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face and were terrified.Mat 17:7  And Jesus came and touched them, and said: Arise and be not afraid.Mat 17:8  And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, save Jesus only.Mat 17:9  And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying: Tell the vision to no one, until the Son of Man be risen from the dead.Mat 17:10  And his disciples asked him: Why do the scribes say that Elijah must first come?Mat 17:11  And he answered and said: Elijah indeed comes and shall restore all things.Mat 17:12  But I say unto you, that Elijah came already and they knew him not, but did to him whatever they would. Likewise shall the Son of Man suffer by their hands.Mat 17:13  Then understood the disciples that he spoke to them of John the Baptist.
