For you devour widows' houses, while for a pretence you make long prayers. Therefore you shall receive greater condemnation.Mat 23:15  Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he has become so, you make him twofold more a son of Gehenna than yourselves.Mat 23:16  Woe to you, you blind guides, who say: Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.

Matthew 22:1-14 Christ's Parable of the Marriage Banquet Supper and Wedding Garment  Jesus’ Parable About the Wedding Feast And Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying:Mat 22:2  The kingdom of heaven is likened to a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,Mat 22:3  and sent out his servants to call them that were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.Mat 22:4  Again he sent other servants, saying: Tell them that were invited: Look, I have made ready my dinner. My oxen and my fatlings are killed and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!Mat 22:5  But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his business,Mat 22:6  while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.Mat 22:7  The king was angry, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and burnt their city.Mat 22:8  Then he said to his servants: The wedding is ready, but they that were invited were not worthy.Mat 22:9  Therefore, go to the main roads and as many as you shall find, invite them to the marriage feast.Mat 22:10  And those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good; and the wedding was filled with guests.Mat 22:11  But when the king entered to see the guests, he saw there a man who was not wearing a wedding-garment.Mat 22:12  And he said to him: Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding-garment? Jesus’ Parable About Sheep and GoatsMat 25:31  But when the Son of Man shall come in his glory and all the Angels with him, then he shall sit on the throne of his glory.Mat 25:32  And before him shall be gathered all the nations, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.Mat 25:33  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on the left.Mat 25:34  Then the King shall say to those on his right hand: Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.Mat 25:35  For I was hungry and you gave me to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.Mat 25:36  Naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.Mat 25:37  Then the righteous shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see you hungry and fed you? Or thirsty and gave you drink?Mat 25:38  And when did we see you as a stranger and welcome you? Or naked and clothed you?Mat 25:39  And when did we see you sick, or in prison and came to you?Mat 25:40  And the King shall answer and say to them: Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of these my brothers, even the least, you did it to me.Mat 25:41  Then he shall also say to them on the left hand: You who are cursed, depart from me, to the perpetual fire which is prepared for the Devil and his messengers.Mat 25:42  For I was hungry and you did not give me anything to eat. Matthew 7:1- 7 Parable of the plank and splinter Jesus Teaches About Pre-judging Judge not, that you be not judged.Mat 7:2  For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged, and with what measure you use, it shall be applied to you.Mat 7:3  And why do you see the splinter that is in your brother's eye but ignore the plank that is in your own eye?Mat 7:4  Or how will you say to your brother: Let me remove the splinter in your eye, when you have a plank in your own eye?Mat 7:5  You hypocrite, first remove the plank from your own eye and then shall you see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother's eye.Mat 7:6  Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the pigs, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces. Jesus Teaches About His Generous Father Mat 7:7  Ask and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you.

And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away, for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish and not your whole body go into Gehenna.    31 It was also said: Whoever shall send away his wife, let him give her a contract of divorce. 32 But I say to you, that everyone that divorces his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery; and whoever shall marry a divorced woman commits adultery.    33 Again, you have heard that it was said to them of old: You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord. 34 But I say to you: Swear not at all, neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet. Nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Neither shall you swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your Yes mean Yes, and your No, No. For whatever is more than these comes from evil.    38 You have heard that it was said: An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. 39 But I say to you: Do not resist him that is evil but whoever hits you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take away your coat, let him also have your cloak. 41 And whoever shall compel you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.    43 You have heard that it was said: You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for them that persecute you, 45 that you might be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 46 For if you love them that love you, what reward have you? Even the tax collectors do the same! 47 And if you greet your brothers only, what do you more than they. The tax collectors do likewise. 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 20:1-16 Parable of the Labourers in the Vineyard; last first Many called but few chosen

Jesus’ Parable of Labourers in the Vineyard For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard.Mat 20:2  And when he had agreed with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.Mat 20:3  And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing in the marketplace idle.Mat 20:4  And to them he said: You go also into the vineyard and whatever is right I will give you. And they went their way.Mat 20:5  Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour and did likewise.Mat 20:6  And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he said to them: Why do you stand here idle all the day?Mat 20:7  They said to him: Because no one has hired us. He said to them: You go also into the vineyard.Mat 20:8  And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.Mat 20:9  And when they who were hired about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.Mat 20:10  And when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more, but likewise each received a denarius.Mat 20:11  And when they received it, they grumbled at the master of the house, saying:Mat 20:12  These last have spent only one hour but you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.Mat 20:13  And he answered and said to one of them: Friend, I do you no wrong. Matthew 21:1-22 Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Cleansing Temple, Cursing of the Fig Tree  Jesus Enters Jerusalem  And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,Mat 21:2  saying to them: Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.Mat 21:3  And if anyone says something to you, you shall say: The Lord has need of them. And Jesus said to them: Yes. Did you never read: Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise?Mat 21:17  And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there. Jesus Condemns a Fig TreeMat 21:18  Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he became hungry.Mat 21:19  And seeing a fig tree by the roadside, he went to it and found nothing thereon but leaves only; and he said to it: Let there be no fruit from you again. And immediately the fig tree withered away.Mat 21:20  And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying: How did the fig tree immediately wither away?Mat 21:21  And Jesus answered and said to them: Truly I say to you, If you have faith and doubt not, you shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you shall say to this mountain: Be taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.Mat 21:22  And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

Matthew 9:16-36 New wine in new bottles, old rent garment, parable of labourers in the harvest Mat 9:16  No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth onto an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.Mat 9:17  Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.Mat 9:18  Jesus Raises a Dead Girl Back to Life While he spoke these things to them, a ruler came and knelt before him, saying: My daughter is even now dead, but come and lay your hand upon her that she shall live.Mat 9:19  And Jesus rose and followed him, as did his disciples.Mat 9:20  And a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years, came behind him and touched the border of his garment.Mat 9:21  For she said within herself: If I only touch his garment I shall be healed.Mat 9:22  But Jesus turning and seeing her, said: Daughter, be of good courage. Your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed at that moment.Mat 9:23  And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a tumult,Mat 9:24  he said: Leave! For the little girl is not dead but sleeps. And they Laughed at him in scorn.Mat 9:25  But when the crowd had been put outside, he entered in and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose.Mat 9:26  And the fame thereof went into all that land. Jesus Heals Two Blind Men and a Dumb ManMat 9:27  And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying out, and saying: Have mercy on us, son of David!Mat 9:28  And when he had arrived into the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them: Do you believe that I am able to do this? Make his paths straight.Mat 3:4  Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather girdle about his loins and his food was locusts and wild honey.Mat 3:5  Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.Mat 3:6  And they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.Mat 3:7  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them: You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the anger to come?Mat 3:8  Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance.Mat 3:9  And think not to say within yourselves: We have Abraham as our father, for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.Mat 3:10  And even now the axe lies at the root of the trees.
