Being a committed disciple of Jesus Christ often leads to discrimination or ridicule here in the states, but in many other nations, Christians are beaten, imprisoned; some are tortured, and many are killed. In spite of this, their churches are growing. How do we explain this?

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. Outside America, Christianity is increasing and the gospel is being preached in the face of severe opposition. We often feel helpless, but there are practical ways we can help our persecuted family. Today’s guest says the number one thing is prayer. 

TODAY’S GUEST – Todd Nettleton is the Director of Media and Public Relations for The Voice of the Martyrs and host of VOM Radio. Todd serves as a voice for persecuted Christians, working with the media to tell people in the United States about the faithfulness of Christ’s followers in 60+ nations where they face persecution.

Todd has traveled the world to interview hundreds of Christians who’ve endured persecution in more than 20 nations. He has done thousands of interviews with various media outlets, including The Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, the BBC, Moody Radio, Christian Broadcasting Network, Newsweek, The Voice of America, Mission Network News and TBN.

Todd and his wife, Charlotte, have two college-aged sons. In his spare time, Todd enjoys reading, writing, music, travel and sports, including serving as commissioner of a fantasy football league. In 2015 he ran his first half-marathon.

Cults, deceptions, satanism, and the supernatural. Where do we start? How about in the Christian church? We are warned to come out from among them and be separate. Most of us would admit that the increasing spiritual darkness today goes hand in hand with the landslide of immorality and rebellion against God. Interest in demons, the occult, witchcraft, and the paranormal have never been so high.

Jill is also an adjunct professor at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul and Crown College – and the daughter of the original Bible Answer Man.

Julaine Appling of the Wisconsin Family Council joins us today with an update on the battle in America to preserve religious freedom. We discuss some recent news stories affecting Christians in America – some good and some not so good. We don’t hold back! We also address some of the issues facing parents and believers in the workplace.

One of the most alarming trend we see today is what moral relativism has produced: the denial and dismissal of God as Creator of every human being, and the fact He made them male and female. Parents, your children will be confronted with this warped worldview and Christian friends, it has already crept into the church.

Jude 1:3-4 states:

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. 4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

How’s your vision? Are you a natural 20/20, or do you need glasses/contacts to get there? Wisconsin Family Council certainly doesn’t have perfect vision, but we do see clearly enough to know 2020 is coming and it’s filled with opportunities for people of true faith to make a real and positive difference in our communities, state and nation.

He joins Mike and David to discuss how friendship seems to be more important than truth to a growing number of Christian leaders, and how heresy is on the rise in the church itself.

Democrats Pass Resolution Applauding ‘Nonreligious Americans,’ Criticizing Churchgoers

The Democratic National Committee passed a first-of-its-kind resolution Saturday recognizing the “ethical soundness” and “importance” of religiously unaffiliated Americans while contending such voters “share the Democratic Party’s values.”

The resolution – passed at the DNC’s summer meeting – was championed by the Secular Coalition of America, an organization that lobbies on behalf of atheists, agnostics and humanists in public policy. The coalition said it was the first time the party had “embraced American nonbelievers.” It passed unanimously absent one abstention, the coalition said.

“[T]he religiously unaffiliated demographic represents the largest religious group within the Democratic Party, growing from 19% in 2007 to one in three today,” the resolution says. “
