We live in a culture that is truly, radically confused about one of the most fundamental aspects of human nature - sexuality. Christians need to be wise about what the Bible says regarding this important subject, because getting it wrong here impacts the family, the church, the world we live in, and history as a whole. This is part 1 of a series of messages that will be airing on the Christian Home and Family podcast. This session keys in on the culture's confusion over sexuality, and sets the stage for the following messages in the series.

Though this podcast has been a great experience so far, I have to say that this episode is one of my favorites. Kevin and Sherry Harney were such a blessing to me as we discussed their book, "Organic Outreach for Families."** Their experience and the grace of God seem to have uniquely equipped them to write this book, to help the rest of us understand family outreach and the powerful impact it can have not only on the families around you, but also on your own family. In this episode we talked about...

When it comes to loving our wives, Jesus clearly tells Christian husbands that we are to imitate Him in the way that He loves His church. But what does that look like? On today's podcast I'm going to share with you some of the things the LORD has been gracious to teach me regarding what it means to love your wife that way, and one primary way you need to make sure you are doing it. No matter your wife's personality, the struggles you face together, or the baggage each of you brought into the relationship, the "broken record" habit that I'm going to describe for you today will help you love your wife well. It will take time, but it will prove to be powerful in your relationship. Here's what you can expect...

If you've been listening to the Christian Home and Family podcast for any length of time, you know that I'm eager to see parents pass their faith along to the next generation, and the one after that, and the one after that. That generational legacy if what I'm all about.
This epssode of the podcast strikes that familiar chord in a new way by introducing you to the 4-14 family movement. It's a movement of like-minded people who are encouraging, equipping, and challenging parents to take up the mantel of passing along their faith, particularly to their children ages 4-14 (the time when most people come to faith in Christ). In this episode you'll hear us talk about...

Part 1 of the Christian Home and Family strategy is to help you in getting your own spiritual walk on track. Part 2 is helping you get your marriage relationship solid and healthy. This podcast episode falls squarely in that #2 category.
Communication in marriage is what Mindi and I refer to as "Priority #2" (can you guess why?). Learning to talk to each other in healthy, beneficial ways is what makes the difference between an average or struggling marriage and a truly great one. Communication is where you get to know each other, learn to love each other, and truly become unified in your relationship. That is the kind of marriage the LORD delights to use, and will use for His glory.
Come along as Mindi and I talk about:
I always enjoy talking with my bride, and this episode was no different. She's a fount of wisdom on these kinds of issues, and I hope you'll enjoy what the two of us were able to uncover.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE TOPIC OF SEXTING, THIS EPISODE CARRIES A PG-13 RATING.
Sexting is a new an strange phenomena to most of us. It is one example of how technology is creating some very unwelcome issues that we Christians need to carefully think through, especially as the issue of sexting relates to our families.
In this episode of the podcast I had a great conversation with Luke Gilkerson. Luke is the Internet Community Manager at Covenant Eyes, a company that provides internet accountability and filtering software. Luke's interaction with me was a great blessing, and I especially enjoyed his focus on the role parents need to play in their children's lives in relation to issues like sexting. Communication is vital, and parents must work extra hard to make sure that their relationships with their children remain open, so that these kinds of issues can be discussed in helpful ways that honor Christ.[/gn_note]

Being (or becoming) the spiritual leader in the home is not an easy task. In my own early days of marriage, it was a struggle for me to even know what the term meant! In all my time mentoring men, counseling couples, and working with people, I've learned that I'm not alone. To be told to be the spiritual leader in the home is an intimidating thing to most men.
In this episode of the podcast, I'm going to try to deconstruct the fear a bit, to discover what lies under the surface, and I want to give you some tips regarding things that helped me to get over the hump of hesitancy so that I could truly become the spiritual leader in my home. You don't have to have a Bible degree or be "super spiritual." The average guy can do it.[/gn_note]

Family economics. Not a term that most people in our day are used to hearing. But it's an idea that has been around since the early days of the bible. Families can work together in Christian harmony to not only support themselves, but to be a huge blessing to the world around them. Today's conversation is a discussion of the issue of family economy with author, pastor, and radio host Kevin Swanson. He's spearheading a new movement focusing on this idea of family economics, including hosting some conferences on the subject in 2013. Check out the links below.

Parenting is tough. Children don't come with an instruction manual. Learning how to parent well is like learning how to do brain surgery blindfolded while roller-skating and doing the hokey-pokey! OK, maybe it's not QUITE so dramatic as that, but you get the point.
Since there is so much that COULD be said about parenting, I decided to approach the issue from a very fundamental level, dealing with some of the most important issues surrounding the idea of having wisdom in your Christian parenting.

Continuing from last week's episode, today we are going to look at the next essential building block in creating a Christ-centered home that is able to produce a legacy of faith that lasts for generations. That building block is a healthy, Christ-exalting marriage.

Building a healthy marriage takes diligence and effort in many different areas... and it's built on the foundation of the strong spiritual walk each of the partners has with the LORD. In this episode I narrow the broad focus of marriage health into 3 specific areas that I've come to see as vital to the process of establishing health in your marriage relationship. Those 3 areas are 1) Spiritual strength 2) A maintenance mindset, and 3) Communication. In each area I give you some tips and tricks to help you take strides toward a healthier marriage relationship.
In the episode I also mention a diagram that illustrates the importance of husband and wife each having their own intimate relationship with the LORD, and how it brings them closer to each other in the process. You can see that illustration to the right.
The definition of "Communication" as shared in the podcast:
Finally, I gave a definition of good communication, and outlined what goes into it by highlighting 4 key areas. Here's the quote, with the 4 key areas in bold...
a PROCESS of sharing information (facts, thoughts, opinions, emotions) in a verbal or non-verbal way that includes TALKING and LISTENING, resulting in UNDERSTANDING.
