God uses broken things, and He starts with a broken heart. God doesn’t listen to the lips. He doesn’t measure a material sacrifice. He looks at the heart and say, “if your heart is broken, then I can cleanse it.” This is what repentance is all about

When David sinned, he could have brought all kinds of sacrifices. But they would not help pleased the Lord. God was waiting for the sacrifice of a broken heart. God looks at the heart, not the hand. He wants sincerity from the heart, not religious routine.

A broken heart is not remorse, nor is it regret. It is repentance, a turning away from sin. Bring to Him the sacrifice of a contrite heart.

The sins we commit not only affect us, but they affect others—even the unsaved. Sin silenced David tongue. He had no song and no witness (v.15). When we lose our song and our praise and our testimony, we affect others. David was not able to talk to people about the Lord. But when God forgave him and his sin was washed away, he was able to say, “Then I will teach transgressions Thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto Thee” (v.13).

God has called each of us to be His witness. Our task is to teach transgressors His ways. Our privilege is to lead sinners to the Lord. Sin spreads like a disease. It is not only robs our joy, but it may affect our witness to others. Let’s ask God to cleanse us And open our lips so we can share the good news of the Gospel with others. Don’t let sin steal your witness for the Lord. Keep your heart clean before Him.

Joy is essential in the Christian life. It is the evidence that we are truly born again. Nehemiah chapter 8 verse 10 says that “the joy of the Lord is our strength.” We need the joy of the Lord to witness for Him. Joy shows unsaved people that it is worthwhile to know Jesus. He is the power for our service.

Joy and willing obedience go together. When you enjoy doing something or when you enjoy the person for whom you’re doing it, you serve willingly.

God intends that you rejoice in your salvation. Confess your sins. Then look to Jesus Christ, not yourself. When you look to Jesus Christ, you will rediscover the joy of His salvation. Make sure your life is free from sin, And then ask Him to restore your joy.

Many sad consequences occur when a believer sins, but the worst is the loss of close fellowship with the Lord.

When we sin against the Lord, we lost the closeness of the Holy Spirit, the source of our blessing. Everything in the Christian life depends on our fellowship with the Lord.

God does not remove His Holy Spirit from us today. Jesus told His disciples in John 14:16 that “the Spirit of God would abide with them for ever.” When the Holy Spirit comes into your life at conversion, He seals your salvation. He is the witness that you are a child of God and Assures you that you belong to Christ.

Fellowship with God is conditional. If we have sin in our lives, we cannot have fellowship with Him. Avoid sin, obey the Word of God and maintain a prayer time with Him. Make walking with the Lord a priority. Don’t lose His fellowship by sinning.

Sin defiles the heart. When our heart is defiled, everything is defiled. “Keep your heart with all diligence, for our if it spring the issue of life.” (Prov.4:23).

Sin also weakens the spirit. All of us want an enthusiastic, steadfast spirit. God can create a new heart and give a steadfast spirit when we confess our sins before Him. Unconfessed sin in the heart defiles the whole body. Never hold onto a sin or cover it; confess it immediately. When you do, God can cleanse and restore you.

David confessed his sin, and God forgive him. God cleansed David’s heart, strengthened his spirit and created something new within.

When we sin, it does terrible damage to our spiritual life. David’s sin affected his eyes, but it also affected his ears. Everything he heard was wrong. The good news will be bad news, and the bad news will be worse news.

If your ears have not been hearing joy and gladness, perhaps the problem is not around you but within the you. Perhaps your heart needs to be cleansed. David prayed (v.7) “Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” David also asks to be purged with hyssop, “The blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanses us from all sin” (1Jn.1:7), if we confess our sins.

Unconfessed sin leaves you with the dirty heart. When your heart is not right you don’t hear joy and gladness—the music of God, when your heart is tuned to the music of God and the harmony of heaven, then everything around You will remind you of the Lord.

Confess your sins to the Lord and He will forgive you and restore you.

Sin is much more than a word in the dictionary. It is a powerful evil that damages our lives and our world. Conscience is a marvellous gift from God, the window that lets in the light of God’s truth. If we sin against God deliberately, that window becomes dirty, and not as much truth can filter through. The Bible calls this is a defiled, seared conscience.

God wants truth in our inner being. David confessed his sin before God because he wanted to see God again—in nature, in His Word and in the temple.

Do you keep a clean conscience? It is a part of your inner being that response to God’s truth. When you sin, the window for your conscience becomes dirty and filter out truth. Avoid sin in your life and live with a clean conscience.

All of us struggle with sin. Human nature pulls us down as gravity does, yet God has made us and saved us to lift up. When we cover sin, we lose God’s light, fellowship and character. Confession brings release, freedom, forgiveness and a new beginning.

Abide in Him, love Him, walk with Him in the light of His Word. Keep His commandments.

Confess any known sin and ask God to clean your heart. He wants to forgive you so He can restore fellowship with you. Fellowship is a by-product of our walk with God. To love Him is to serve Him and obey His commandments.

Before David sinned he was a friend of God, straight, meeting His goals. After he sinned he was a crooked rebel, missing the mark. ... The spiritual change that took place when David confessed his sin of adultery and murder.

The most priceless thing in the universe is the human soul. We see it’s value at Calvary, because the most costly thing in the world—our sin—require the payment of Jesus’ blood to redeem us.

If we really understood what sin is and what sin does, it would keep us from deliberately sinning against God. Before you yield to temptation, remember how it damaged David. Count the high cost of committing sin, and you will be less inclined to do it.

The human soul was purchased at the highest cost possible—the death of God’s son. When you find yourself beginning the process of sin, claim the promises of God’s Word. God will strengthen and protect you and enable you to overcome temptation.

This Psalm describes God’s courtroom and the judgement of His people, who made a covenant with Him by sacrifice. One day our lives will be on trial at the Judgement Seat Of Christ . Where our works will be judged by God. Let’s do what God asks us to do and walk out of the courtroom free.
