Faith matters. Faith matters because it affects this material world. We start with the unseen and soon it becomes seen. There is a whole lot of unseen in our lives yet to be seen. Therefore, We walk by faith not by sight" (2 Cor. 5:7). We move in one direction: forward. As we move forward in faith and obedience, we can then look back and see that faith does matter.Then, faith blesses. And that blessing is forever.

In the following verses we are given examples of faith being demonstrated by three heroes of the faith: Abel, Enoch and Noah.

In the center of this Faith Hall of Fame we are given an explanation of God's point of view: "Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). If you find yourself struggling and you feel your faith is leaning toward bankruptcy, just declare "chapter eleven" Hebrews chapter eleven!

The gospel allows us to see with greater vision. We no longer live like the blind leading the blind. We can see clearly as we place our trust in Jesus. Seeing can be believing if we are looking to our Lord and Savior. Jesus has become the object of our faith. Our lives are centered on him. For the believer, faith is believing. Now, we act based on our relationship to God through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. This faith can be a life-changer and a world-changer.

They show us what God’s people are NOT to be like. His use of repetition, metaphor and catch-phrases should be like an air raid siren to the heart. Or, like a slap in the face: Thanks, I needed that. These are meant to get our attention.

Now what do we do? We do our homework. If we are idle, we get busy. If we are asleep, we wake up. If we are not grounded in the faith, we get grounded. We learn to speak the truth in love. We grow and become mature enough in the faith that we will not be swayed by false teaching. And God will use us to gently sway others toward him.
