Hebrews, chapter eleven, has been called "The Faith Chapter." In verse one we are given a definition of faith. Then, in the next verse, we are told that believers are to be commended for living out the faith just described. Then we are told that our knowledge of creation itself is derived from faith in God, the Creator. In the following verses we are given examples of faith being demonstrated by three heroes of the faith: Abel, Enoch and Noah.
In the center of this Faith Hall of Fame we are given an explanation of God's point of view: "Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). If you find yourself struggling and you feel your faith is leaning toward bankruptcy, just declare "chapter eleven" Hebrews chapter eleven!
