Psalm 119 is a God-ordained hymn to God's Word. It is the longest chapter in the Bible. This hymn to God's Word comes to us in 22 stanzas. Each stanza is represented by one of the 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Each line in every stanza will begin with the same Hebrew letter that is assigned to it. The Hebrew letter in the 19th stanza is the letter Qoph the Q sound.

Working our way through this portion of Scripture will be a spiritual exercise routine ordained by God Almighty. This spiritual exercise is far from routine. All believers are endowed with a calling to pray. We need to pray. And this world needs our prayers. It seems God is exhorting us prompting us Pray with all your heart. Zacchaeus was a man who wanted to see Jesus. In order to do so he had to climb up a tree to see over the crowd. One could wonder if God had a hand in this interesting chain of events. Perhaps God would tree a man just like a hunter would tree a fox. God can call people in interesting ways. Since most of his quarry are not too eager to come to him, maybe God has to tree them first.

The reason for the parable is that God does not want to leave us alone. God is looking for fruitful disciples. A disciple is one who listens and obeys God's Word. This kind of obedience must begin in the heart.

The definition is so important to all of human history that it is called "salvation." Here is one well-known verse that reflects the miraculous definition of love and justice: "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). God's love and justice meet in a life-giving miracle at the cross of Christ.

We have the blessing of being able to reflect the nature and character of God in our daily lives. Our relationship with The Living God will be more and more lived-out by his people. We will be growing and maturing in the Lord. Peter ends his second letter to us with this: "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." May we all live-out God's vision both now and forever. Amen.
