Jesus entered this world at the time we call Christmas. Jesus departed this world at the time we call Easter. He entered this world in a manger and he exited this world from a tomb. This was all planned ahead of time and carried out under the sovereign authority of God.

Jesus did something the people in authority could not do. He cleansed the temple in Jerusalem. This upset the religious leaders and made them angry. They asked for sign to show his authority to do what he just did. Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days" (John 2:19). Of course, like every human being, they didn't understand him. However, those who humbly bow to God's plan will be given new life by the Creator of life. Then, new understanding will enter and new life within them will grow more and more.

The 99 may be safe, but we will begin to care for that one who is lost. We will find ourselves stretching more and more to reach out to bring in that one who may be lost. Then we will rejoice along with Jesus over one sinner who repents.

And he added, "These are the true words of God" (Revelation 19:9). As we study The Last Supper we will more fully understand what God had planned in advance.
