God's prophetic salvation entered this world through a type of Adam. "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive" (1 Corinthians 15:22). God would then bring his salvation through one man: Abraham. "Jesus Christ the son of Abraham" (Matthew 1:1). Through Abraham would come Isaac. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, but God provided a substitute in his place. Later, God would offer up his own Son: "Behold, the Lamb of God" (John 1:29).
Next, we find ourselves peering into the life of Jacob. God will raise up twelve sons through Jacob and change Jacob's name to Israel. "A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel" (Numbers 24:17). God's prophetic salvation rests in Jesus Christ, who, at the end of God's Word, proclaims: "I am the bright Morning Star" (Revelation 22:16). This prophetic salvation is alive today.
