Jesus said blessed are the eyes that see what you see. Many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see it. Isaiah prophesied a shoot would sprout from Jesse's stump. The spirit of the Lord would rest on him. Justice would flower. Peace would come. Wolf would dwell with lamb. Prophets and kings longed to see it. You're living in it. The shoot sprouted. The kingdom came. But you can miss it if you expect something more impressive. God reveals the kingdom to the childlike, not the wise and learned. Stop waiting for something that looks different. Open your eyes and see what's here.

A centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus said I will come. The centurion replied Lord I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Just say the word and my servant will be healed. Jesus was amazed. In no one in Israel have I found such faith. The outsider understood what insiders missed. Jesus doesn't need proximity. He needs to speak. His authority transcends worthiness. Advent is recognizing you're not worthy but coming anyway. Not because you fixed yourself. Because his word is enough.

Jesus warns about normal life making you unaware. Good times distract. Bad times overwhelm. Daily stress consumes. You become drowsy. Daniel saw the fourth beast devour the whole earth. Then the court sat in judgment. Power was taken away. The everlasting kingdom was given to the holy ones of the Most High. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have strength to stand before the Son of Man. Stay alert. Always. Through everything.

Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away. Everything you see is temporary. Everything you touch will disappear. But Jesus's words last forever. Daniel saw beasts rising from the sea representing kingdoms. They looked powerful. They devoured and crushed. But the Ancient One took his throne. The beasts were slain. Their dominion was taken away. The Son of man received everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away. You're investing in what's passing away and ignoring what lasts. Your career is a beast that will be slain. Your security is heaven and earth that will pass away. Build on Jesus's words. Those last forever.

Ten lepers were healed. One came back giving thanks. He fell at Jesus's feet. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks? Your faith has saved you. Ten got healing. One got salvation. The nine used Jesus to get what they needed then kept walking. The one recognized Jesus as the source worth returning to. Paul gave thanks to God for grace bestowed on the Corinthians, not for their achievements but for God's faithfulness. Every day I will bless you. Thanksgiving isn't annual gratitude. It's returning to the source and falling at his feet.

I myself shall give you wisdom in speaking that adversaries will be powerless to resist. Belshazzar drank from temple vessels and praised dead gods. A hand appeared writing on the wall. God has numbered your kingdom. You have been weighed and found wanting. Your kingdom is divided. That night he died. Daniel didn't prepare his interpretation. He just spoke truth. Persecution isn't the problem. It's the platform for bearing witness.

They were admiring the temple. Jesus said all you see here will not be left stone upon another. Everything impressive is temporary. Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of a statue of gold, silver, bronze, iron and clay representing kingdoms that all eventually fall. A stone cut out not by human hands struck the statue. Everything collapsed. The stone became a mountain filling the earth. God's kingdom shall never be destroyed. It breaks all other kingdoms in pieces and stands forever. You're building with temporary materials. Investing in kingdoms that are coming down. Stop being impressed with what's collapsing and build on the kingdom that never ends.
