Frantzces learned a life-changing lesson on attachments. Many of us have never put too much thought on our attachments to people and things. It's important to know what healthy and unhealthy attachments look like.
The way we develop attachments to others growing up has a massive impact on our attachments as adults. Living abroad taught the lesson of impermanence and attachment because the living abroad community is transient, which means people come and they go.
Often for very short spurts or for a few months or even years. But it's not uncommon to have an amazing connection with someone only to find out they are leaving the same day. How do you manage that constant fluctuation in relationships?
Living abroad forces you to be comfortable with this state of being.
Buddha says, "The root of suffering is attachment."
So this Monday Message is just another reminder about to check-in with ourselves about the way we connect with people.

Frantzces learned in lesson number two is that you don't need much to be happy. As she traveled to different parts of the world she met a lot of people who were content with what they have.
She believes that there is an over-consumption of stuff in the Western world. It has a lot to do with how much self-worth we feel that we have. Some of us buy things to fill a void or to be someone that we're not.
When you travel to different countries you often see people happy with so little.
A Swedish proverb says, "He who buys what he doesn't need, steals from himself."
So this Monday Message is just another reminder about the things that truly matter in life. Please tune in!

Nicole from I Luv 2 Globe Trot is currently living her best life in Oman. Prior to her move abroad (10 years ago), the job market in the States frustrated her.
Her friends' who were at the time living and teaching in Japan sparked her curiosity. Hearing about their lives abroad fueled her to commit to taking the leap. She utilized social media to connect with other people of color living abroad.
She shared with us what it's as a Black woman living in the Middle East. To her surprised many of the Omani's looked just like her and called her sister. She says she has fallen in love with the country.
Nicole details how travel has changed her life. And most importantly how travel has increased her confidence in navigating the globe and other nuances about living abroad.
Nicole and her business partner created the I Luv 2 Globe Trot Facebook community 7 years ago to give people a space to connect and ask questions about travel and the living abroad process.
The group has since grown to approximately 9,000 members. Her and her business partner share their experiences and their resources on the blog and in the group to encourage and support others.
In this episode you'll be inspired by the following:
1. The experiences of travel allow you to learn more about yourself and the world around you. 2. The best way to get over fear is to just do it. 3. Living abroad enhances your self-sufficiency ten folds.

Frantzces learned some valuable lessons while living abroad for the past three years.
She is going to spend the next five Monday Messages breaking these messages down and sharing some of her insights with the hopes that it encourages you to reflect a bit more deeply about your life.
The first lesson is about not being able to outrun your problems. There was a lot going on at the time that Frantzces decided to move abroad. She quickly realized that life is about telling yourself the truth, facing the truth and then doing something about what you've faced.
Maya Angelou always said, "You must first tell yourself the truth before you can tell it to someone else."
So this Monday Message is just another reminder about how you can first begin the process of healing. Please tune in!

Renee Adolphe, was a Psychotherapist who held a private practice in the Washington, DC area.
At the age of 35, decided to give up her practice, sell her home and car and decided to travel to India and later South America to learn more about herself, as well as to learn alternative healing practices to work with her clients.
She wanted to live in an atmosphere that helped to facilitate the alternative treatments that she was providing to her clients.
She discusses how living in Brazil has changed her life. The change of pace has challenged her to slow down because time doesn't exist there. The energy of Salvador is indescribable.
We talk about how travel has helped her to release the traditional stress that has accumulated over time in her life from the States.
Traveling has helped her to connect with people who have a different mindset than she does. It's hard to know yourself if you haven't traveled the world and have been exposed to different perspectives and different ways of life.
Since then, Renee has taken her healing workshops all over the world while doing retreats to provide the space for Black women to heal.
In this episode you'll be inspired by the following:
1. Just do it, things will always come up, just buy your ticket and stick to it. 2. You're going to be scared and that's okay. 3. Start with whatever will make you the most comfortable, do some trial runs, maybe don't commit to a year but commit to something to see it through.

Finding our purpose and calling in life doesn't start with the outside, it's a feeling, it's something that comes from the inside first.
Nipsey Hustle's death brought about a lot of emotions such as why the good die young phenomenon and had us thinking about the kind of world we want to live in.
He seemed to have known what he wanted his world to look like and he was on a mission to build that world.
But his life and death was a stark reminder that purpose is a feeling. It's not something that could be created through spreadsheets and pros and cons list but something that goes deeper than that.
You know, Maya Angelou always said, "People don't always remember what you did but they sure as hell remember how you made them feel."
And this is why we think purpose is a feeling. When you find the feeling you find the purpose.
So this Monday Message is just a little reminder about that. Please tune in!

Time moves hella fast. That was Frantzces' thought as she watched her son turn 21. She did a bit of reflecting in this one about how one decision can shift the moments in anybody's life.
Time doesn't wait for anyone and it has no qualms in leaving you behind. Time will move with or with your participation in your life.
Oprah Winfrey says, "Time is the most valuable resource that we have."
Time is an illusion, a construct that constricts. So often, we become bogged down by time and begin doing or involving ourselves with things that are out of alignment.
Or sometimes we find ourselves in limbo, unable to make a decision. But you just have to decide. No decision is ever wrong, the most important thing that you could do is to begin taking action. One small foot in front of the other is all it takes.
The beauty about it all is you can create any life that you want, however you see fit. And you can change your decision at any given moment.
"You're one decision away from a completely different life."
