    Julaine Appling

President, Wisconsin Family Action & Wisconsin Family Council

Founded in 2006, Wisconsin Family Action exists to inform Wisconsin citizens about pro-family legislative and cultural issues, involve Wisconsin citizens in activities that strengthen the family, prepare Wisconsin citizens for elections, as the law provides, and advocate in the state legislature on cultural and legislative issues that affect the family. WFA advances Judeo-Christian principles and values in Wisconsin by strengthening, preserving, and promoting marriage, family, life and liberty.

Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Action joins Mike and David to discuss legislative action in Wisconsin and discuss how Christians should approach and celebrate Independence day.

Radical Liberalism is more than just a philosophical school of thought on how the Bible should be interpreted—it actually opposes fundamental truth and doctrine.  But it is being presented these days as another gospel and leading many astray with its utopian promises. They are mishandling the scriptures to project Jesus as a Socialist who came to earth to forcibly redistribute wealth and create a utopia from man’s efforts.

    Elijah Abraham

    Living Oasis Ministries

Elijah offers a unique perspective on the nature of Islam. He was born and raised as a Muslim in Iraq, but converted to Christianity and started Living Oasis Ministries, an organization devoted to teaching American churches about Islam and the best means for reaching out to Muslims with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Living Oasis Ministries is called to equip the saints in the U.S. and around the world to reach Muslims for Christ, to proclaim the Word of God to those who do not know Him through preaching and teaching the Word of God, and to help the global Church challenge Islam with the gospel through apologetics.

Sharing the gospel in foreign lands has always been difficult, but these days there are challenges that are making the task increasingly difficult and dangerous.  Radical Islam has been emboldened by ruthless leaders and a media willfully silent on its evil actions. Even within missionary circles there seems to be confusion on how best to share the gospel, making the task all the more difficult.

Elijah Abraham of Living Oasis Ministries regularly travels around the world sharing the gospel and teaching church leaders to equip their church members in sound doctrine for the work of evangelism and discipleship.  He joins Mike and David to discuss the increasingly difficult challenges of missionary work, and how some mission ministries are making the task even more difficult by preaching a watered-down or even false gospel.

  • Uh Oh: A Middle East Peace Plan in the Works

    Play Episode

For Christians seeking to understand the last days, fewer things grab our attention than talk of a Middle East Peace Plan between Israel and her enemies.  Many believe Daniel chapter 9 talks about a seven year peace treaty between Anti-Christ and Israel that will usher in the final countdown to the return of Jesus to judge all men and nations.

President Trump is unveiling his “Deal of the Century,” aimed at bringing peace between Israel and her enemies, and many in the Christian community are watching to see if it is eventually accepted and implemented.  But before we get the cart before the horse, let’s take a look at the practicality of the plan being acceptable to all parties concerned. And remember, even if a peace plan is eventually signed that doesn’t mean it is the peace treaty Daniel prophesies. There have been others before this.

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel Radio joins Mike and David to talk about this as well as continue our discussion from yesterday on Marxism invading American Christianity.

During the program, John Loeffler describes modern Progressive Marxist ideology as “A pitching deck of constantly changing ideas that are self-contradicting.”

  • Growing Acceptance of Marxism in Churches

    Play Episode

As American Christianity generally bends over backwards to be seen as “loving” to the world, we have seen secular culture extend its influence within the church.  From the social justice movement to the powerful LGBTQ lobby, we see more and more churches accommodating things of this world directly contradictory to the Bible.  And now, with another presidential election on the horizon we are seeing an enhanced push for the church to embrace something that is directly opposed to the Bible: Marxist Socialism.

Mike and David look at the growth of socialist ideals within professing Christianity and why this is ominous and dangerous to the church.

Is Marxism compatible with the Christian faith? from Got Questions

Marxism is, at heart, an atheistic philosophy with no room for belief in God.

The purported goal of Marxism is a government-run utopia in which the needs of each individual are always provided for. Ideally, the strong work hard, the inventive create technological marvels, the doctors heal, the artists delight the community with beauty, and anyone who is weak or poor or in need can draw on society’s combined resources as their needs demand. When this idealistic model is attempted in the real world, it is called “socialism,” “communism,” “statism,” “liberalism,” or “progressivism,” depending on the degree to which the model is explored and implemented.

Thus far, Marxism has never worked in real life—and, without exception, in the places where Marxism has been the governmental model, Christians have been persecuted. That’s because there’s a foundational difference between Marxism and Christianity, a deep divide that cannot be bridged. There are several aspects of Marxism, as a philosophy, that put it at odds with the Christian faith.

…When Frederick Engels heard that some Christians were using Acts 2 to promote socialism, he wrote against melding his philosophy with Christianity: “These good people are not the best Christians, although they style themselves so; because if they were, they would know the bible better, and find that, if some few passages of the bible may be favourable to Communism, the general spirit of its doctrines is, nevertheless, totally opposed to it.”

In short, the Bible promotes freedom and personal responsibility, and neither of those concepts lasts long under Marxism. There’s a reason why, in Marxist states such as Communist China and Vietnam and the old Soviet Union, Christians are always persecuted—the ideas espoused by Marxism are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The differences are irreconciliable.

    Dave Wager

President, Silver Birch Ranch & Nicolet Bible Institute

Dave’s goal in life is to continually know Christ and make Him known. Check out Relate365.com

The accepted American formula for success includes graduating High School and then going off to College to establish a foundation for success as an adult.  The only problem is this:  it isn’t working!  Youth are graduating College often with useless degrees, indoctrinated into an anti-biblical worldview, strapped with massive debt and a feeling of hopelessness.

This morning Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute joins Mike and Crash Connell to discuss a practical alternative to preparing students for life—one that is based on the Word and practical teachings of God.

    DISCUSSION NOTES

In the early years of our nation Thomas Jefferson, the first “head of education” in our nation, mandated two books be taught in all schools: Webster’s Dictionary and the Bible.

Today the Bible is essentially banned in public education but in some school districts the Muslim Quran is taught and discussed.

The “Consequences” part of the Brain develops until about age 22 according to Science—so every year we can keep our students in a solid Biblical school the better…

Education is important but College is being presented as a necessity to have success in life.
    • College can be best experienced once we have our worldview correct.
    • Public Education purposefully tries to drive a wedge between young people and God.
    • Society and Education downplays trades and blue collar jobs.

“Dying to self”: Gary Kah mentioned on air last week “When we understand the doctrine of death as a Christian, everything else becomes less crucial and less confusing”.
    • We understand God is the author and provider of life.
    • We understand that when every person dies they spend eternity in one of two places.
    • When we live for God we will have eternal life with Him; when we live for ourselves we spend eternity separated from Him.

The importance of starting young people off with the correct understanding of who God is and who we are:
    • Either condemned sinners…
    • Or transformed individuals who seek to love Him and love others.

College sells the illusion that a higher education automatically means success. The Law of Supply and Demand: Young people straddled with debt come out of college with “financial needs” and needing wages the market will not bear or sustain.

Many Christian Seminaries have abandoned the Bible in essence, conforming to how most secular colleges teach and indoctrinate students.

The world has spun a great lie and deception about 4-year college: it is presented as a ticket to wealth but in reality it is a ticket to debt and disillusionment, and a powerful way to undermine God and His Word…
    • Getting a biblical foundation before College is important.
    • You can then take everything they teach to the Bible.

The NBA is considering outlawing the word “Team Owner” because it is triggering some of the black athletes who claim it makes them think of slavery…
    • Thinking like this can be used to undermine the Bible and God’s rule and sovereignty.
    • It also feeds into the socialism utopia frenzy consuming our nation.
    • An example of the way Liberal Colleges have destroyed the thought process of students.

[NEW BOOK!] The Bible Graphically Presented

Dr. White’s Ask the Theologian broadcast

    …

In what we call the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples and teach them everything He commanded. Doctrine (‘doctrina,’ Lat.) simply means “teaching.” In Acts chapter 2, the foundation of the early church was the teaching of those apostles. Without a solid foundation of accurate biblical doctrine, a church becomes more like a social club.

But doctrine has almost become a bad word in a growing number of churches, as if doctrine is automatically “divisive” and “unloving.”  In reality, biblical doctrine is the foundation for Christian unity and love. Pastor Randy White joins Mike and David to discuss the importance of sound biblical doctrine.

There could be dozens, but theological doctrines are typically divided into 10 areas:

    • Bibliology – the doctrine of the Bible
    • Theology Proper – the doctrine of God
    • Christology – the person and work of Jesus Christ
    • Pneumatology – doctrine of the Holy Spirit
    • Angelology – doctrine of angels and demons
    • Anthropology – the doctrine of man
    • Hamartiology – the doctrine of sin
    • Soteriology -doctrine of salvation
    • Ecclesiology – the doctrine of the church
    • Eschatology – doctrine of last days

    • Entering a Time of Confusion and Crisis?

      Play Episode

Gary Kah of Hope for the World Ministry joins Mike and David to look at the coming political, social and spiritual crisis into which we seem to be headed. The economy in our nation is doing well and many Americans feel life is pretty good.  But there are storms brewing that might threaten to bring more chaos and division to our nation as the underlying social and spiritual fabric of our nation spirals downward.

Democrats seem intent on getting rid of President Trump regardless of the cost, tensions in the Middle East are ratcheting up, and Americans have never been more anxious.  Our leaders are unable to set aside their lust for power long enough to address the growing crisis in our nation including the level of political angst and anger.  And we have a Christian Church that seems to be dividing right down the same ideological and political lines.

The student of Biblical Prophecy is not surprised at these events, but it does challenge us on how to live as Christians in a decaying culture and world that is aligning itself behind the coming Anti-Christ who will directly oppose God.

“It is difficult to overstate the dire situation we are facing as a nation. If not for the incredible, long-suffering grace and mercy of our God, our once great republic would already have been destroyed – overtaken by our foreign and domestic enemies who’ve been seeking our demise for decades. Through His remnant people, the Lord has held back the tide enough that we fortunately still have the freedom to speak and take a stand. But, how much longer will He wait for the citizens of our nation to repent and turn back to Him?” Gary Kah

    • Big Challenges Facing Christianity in America

      Play Episode

John Loeffler of Steel on Steel Radio has witnessed and addressed the attacks on both our churches and our nation by radical ideologies and movements, and joins Mike and David to discuss the many challenges our nation and Christian Churches face today.

We start with a promise from Jesus: the gates of hell will not prevail against His true church.  But there has been compromise and complacency as well as enormous challenges facing the professing church in America. We’re seeing a decline in many denominations and church attendance, the growing influence of secular humanism within many churches, and the increasing threat of discrimination and eventual persecution.

Paul says in Romans 8:37 that we are more than conquerors through Jesus, but we seem to be raising the white flag of spiritual and cultural surrender.  Could that be because we are conforming to this world and changing the eternal message of the gospel to fit our human understanding and prejudices?
