It's gotten to the point where the faithful are needing to take many things into their own hands against a corrupt and morally bankrupt hierarchy. Nothing happens in the Church in isolation. Some things are directly connected, others indirectly, but everything is connected.
For example, as many of you know, Church Militant began its Resistance movement about a year and a half ago in order to mobilize the laity wherever there were faithful willing to invest the time and energy. The thrust of Resistance is to hunker down and devote ourselves to study of the Faith in regular meetings with each other roughly two weeks or so — whatever the local chapter decides works best for them. Prayer and study — that's the focus.
But because things are in such disarray owing to so many bishops and clergy paying homage at the political and cultural altars of the Left, sometimes situations arise publicly that need addressing publicly. For example, the planned visit of disgraced Cdl. Roger Mahony, former archbishop of Los Angeles, who was appointed by Pope Francis to be his representative at the 150th anniversary of the diocese of Scranton.
It had the appearance of a perfect match. The bishop of Scranton, Joseph Bambera, allows pro-choice activists to speak in his diocese, as well as pro-sodomy priests like Fr. James Martin. Mahony hid dozens of homosexual priests' sex abuse from civil authorities, eventually having to shell out a staggering $660 million of faithful Catholics' money to pay for the settlements of his priests' pederasty.
Hide, deny, deflect, lie, deceive — these are the standard operating procedures of the Church of Nice and their modernist garbage which includes sodomite priests abusing altar boys. So when the announcement came from the diocese that a figure like Modernist Mahony was the papal delegate to the anniversary, faithful Catholics were up in arms, especially the local chapter of the Church Militant Resistance. Many Catholics were appalled and feel Mahony should be in jail, not leading the celebration.Well, the noise and ruckus worked. All of a sudden, seemingly out of the blue, Mahony was no longer the representative — merely declaring very simply he could not attend.
Ah! But see nothing is unconnected in the Church. At the same time this uproar was going on, the pope and those around him were having to put out fires about failing to act in another child-sex abuse case that touched on the Holy Father directly. The international media went into a feeding frenzy about a man whose letter delivered directly to the pope by Boston Cdl. Sean O'Malley about massive repeated sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of a priest and newly created bishop went ignored by the pope. The pope made headlines when he lashed out at the victim and defended the priest and bishop. When the press coverage went south for the Vatican, all of a sudden, the papal appointment of Mahony just disappeared — coincidence?
All of this is happening because responsible Catholic media are not letting up their full-court press against the torrent of scandals coming out about the pope's men. One by one, case by case, story after story, it is clear that there are too many of these men who are too friendly with the homosexual agenda.
And this is all on top of the stories of the low-grade-infection variety about various financial scandals, involving hundreds of millions of dollars from the unprecedented handling of $140 million involving the Knights of Malta to the news from LifeSite last week about the firestorm inside the Papal Foundation, implicating Cdl. Donald Wuerl in questionable money deals — the drip, drip, drip of scandals is beginning to mount up and cause the Vatican's scandal cup to overflow. And while the faithful Catholic media keeps reporting them, it's gotten too much for the Establishment types to sit quiet anymore.
Recall last summer that extremely close papal confidante Antonio Spadaro lashed out against Church Militant from inside the Vatican, calling us all sorts of names. Homosexualist Fr. James Martin and his fellow traveler Bp. McElroy of San Diego have also taken shots at us, calling for us and other Catholic sites to be somehow shut down and silenced by the hierarchy. Good luck, by the way. We are all independent. Apparently not content to just do nothing, our buddy Fr. Spadaro actually retweeted a tweet calling for EWTN to be shut down until host Raymond Arroyo is fired.
See, nothing is unconnected. It's all part of the same war, just different foxholes on the same battlefield. The personal attacks, the demonizing of faithful Catholics, the weaponizing of the institutions of the Church — it's unbelievable that all this is actually going on. Unbelievable that is if you haven't been following all the background on this for some time.
Everything going on is the result of a takeover of the Church by modernists who long ago abandoned supernatural faith — if they ever possessed it to begin with. This has been going on for decades with each successive decade seeing them become bolder and bolder. John Paul II could not get rid of them, even after more than a quarter of a century. Pope Benedict was overcome by them, retiring in exhaustion and even initiating his papacy by asking for prayers so that he "not flee for fear of the wolves."
The homosexualists in the Church, who are a large force behind all this and are happy to attack the faithful, have got to be confronted and don't look to the bishops to defend you faithful Catholics. Loads of them are in league with this evil — the rest of them are too scared to say a peep. The financial mismanagement, the sexual scandals, the failure to preach the truths of the Church, the refusal to acknowledge Hell and that souls go there, the continued fleecing of the flock with these diocesan campaigns to get hundreds of millions of dollars out of old Catholics before they die — this and much more are signs that the laity must step up.
You need to demand answers — call for transparency, demand that good clergy trying to save souls stop being persecuted because they will not play the evil game of the modernists. Push back against the demonizing of faithful Catholics who want to advance the Culture of Life, like what happened last week to the Texas Right to Life when the Texas Bishops' Conference went after them, accusing them of nefarious motives for trying to get solid pro-lifers elected — pro-lifers outside of the little Establishment bubble.
Everything, absolutely everything in the Church regarding these scandals are all connected. This is all beyond the beyond. The faithful are not objects to be attacked by these heretical, dissident self-interested clerics. They must be exposed.

For a number of months now, after careful analysis of the latest numbers, trends and data, we here at Church Militant have been pointing out that a looming demographic disaster is facing the Church in the United States. And as the saying goes, "Demographics is destiny." The U.S. Catholic population is on the verge of a death spiral, not only in terms of sheer, raw numbers but also of self-identified believers. The death spiral is beginning to unfold because of, well, death — the elderly Catholic population that were adults before Vatican II in the early 1960s are now disappearing from the scene — my father for example. Behind them, counting generation by generation, the numbers keep decreasing. In short, there are very few in the pipeline. For example, there are more Catholics over age 65 than Catholics under the age of 30.
That lines up to be a demographic disaster, and because this disaster stretches over multiple generations and over decades, there is no quick fix and possibly no fix. In fact, the makings for this disaster, the percolation period as it were, actually goes way back — more than 100 years before the Council. It's just that the laity finally saw it for themselves unfolding after the Council, when all the crazy "Spirit of Vatican II" clergy were running around dismantling altars and sanctuaries, ordaining active homosexual predators and destroying every vestige of authentic Catholic education, worship, music, devotion, architecture and family life.
What we are witnessing now in the Church is the reaping of what was sewn by modernist saboteurs in the Church, who step by stealthy step have brought the Church to its knees. Fourteen-hundred Catholic schools, for example, have been shuttered in the past decade, a crisis so great that in a rare moment of looking in the mirror, the U.S. bishops actually discussed that aspect of the crisis at their recent national meeting, of course, paying no attention to the fact that their neglect is what caused the need to close them in the first place.
Faithful, authentic Catholics need to step up and reclaim the Faith — reclaim the Church. What is happening is the scales are tipping in favor of tradition. It may not look like it right now, at least not clearly, but it is happening.
The Church of Nice is gigantic — this gorilla constructed back in the 1960s–1990s by modernists like Detroit's Cdl. John Dearden and Chicago's Joseph Bernardin and their like-minded henchmen all over the country. There is no doubt that the Church of Nice is still in control, but it is dying, committing spiritual suicide.
In its place, a quietly growing community of Catholics who actually believe, hold and profess all that the Church proposes for our belief. They are centering themselves in little clusters around faithful parishes like the FSSP and the ICK and the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter — the last established by Pope Benedict as a refuge for Anglicans who wanted to come home to Rome while retaining their liturgies. Then, there are here and there a few diocesan parishes with orthodox priests who offer the Traditional Latin Mass, as well as reverent Novus Ordo Masses, meaning free from the millions of abuses present at the usual Church of Nice Novus Ordo Masses. They are also finding each other in Catholic homeschool groups and small private schools and colleges dotting the Catholic landscape. Our Blessed Lord is providing, and the Church of Nice, much as it wants to, can't prevent that.
Every year, more Catholics die and apostatize then are baptized or convert into the Faith. The exit doors are practically being busted off their hinges over at the Church of Nice, while the doors at authentic Catholic parishes are needing to be expanded. Sooner or later the scales will tip for good because the Church of Nice is approaching extinction.
What this means for Catholic life in the United States from a demographic standpoint is a very different way of practicing the Faith, living out the Faith on the ground so to speak. There won't be a parish within a few minutes of your home. There won't be a priest available with the ease there currently is. The Church will, in short, be reduced to a small little group and will basically have to start over. And here's the point: all this is already happening. It's happening now; the institutional Church knows it as well. That's why they are grabbing as much money from the old Catholics as they can before they die. But it is their last hurrah. Dying patients, people on life support, eventually die. We are watching the natural death of generations of rotten philosophy, miserable theology and errant morality.
There has ever only been one way to be Catholic and that is faithful. This is what Catholics must understand — do not mourn the destruction — do not look back over your shoulder. Focus on the future by confronting the current disaster, resisting the dissenter at every turn and reclaiming the ancient faith, the Faith of fathers, the Faith of the martyrs.
You are on the winning side because you are on the side of Our Blessed Lord who has allowed these horrors to occur to bring about a greater good. You reclaiming and rebuilding for future generations is that greater good. Welcome to the war. And amen for it. At last, the enemy has been smoked out.

The U.S. hierarchy is completely off the rails. On the one hand, they actually coordinated a phone-in campaign by Catholic voters to their congressmen to influence legislation favorable to the so-called Dreamers — children born in America to illegal immigrants. On the other hand, they have gone to no such lengths to preserve the lives of children conceived in America. If you emerge from the womb of an illegal alien on American soil, they run around organizing political efforts to help you out. If you are merely in the womb, then the effort to fight for your rights is much more muted.
The common denominator here, politically speaking, is support for anything related to illegal immigration and opposed to activist pro-life efforts. It just happens to fall within the purview of the Democrats — the very same politicians who ensure that close to $2 billion passes into Catholic social justice agencies run by the bishops. So no one can be surprised that when it comes to the bishops toeing the party line, the party we are all talking about is the Democrats. For example, where was all the hype and moral bluster from the bishops about having Catholics call their congressmen during the recent vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act? How come they weren't organizing phone-in campaigns by voters to flood congressional phone lines demanding Planned Parenthood be defunded when that came up in Congress? Oh sure, a handful of them wrote a letter or a little column, but the loud voice urging Catholics to "make their voices heard" in defense of innocent life — not so much.
Fourteen supposedly Catholic senators voted to let the murder of the unborn continue, even at a stage where they can actually feel their little bodies being torn to pieces. And with the lone exception of Bp. Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, renewing his call from two years earlier that fake Catholic Sen. Dick Durbin should not present himself for Holy Communion, you get nothing from them.
It is so obvious that a large faction of U.S. bishops are simply in bed and allied with the Party of Death because they get huge sums of money from them that it's sickening. The U.S. government gives enormous sums of tax dollars to all sorts of "charities" to help the poor. The polls let the charities administer the money and its distribution. This includes CRS, Catholic Relief Services, who promptly deals out hundreds of millions of dollars to all sorts of overseas outfits that support International Planned Parenthood and so forth. Their lame excuse is the evil organizations don't use the money from them for those evil ends but to help build wells or provide mosquito netting to ward off malaria — what a crock. Cash is cash and can be directed any which way. And when the government gives money to groups like CRS and other outfits run by the bishops, the bishops' groups get to take a cut for administrative costs.
If the government funds dried up (which they have to some degree under President Trump), if those funds were to go away, then essentially so would the USCCB and its social justice effort. The bishops' conference here in the United States operates on a nearly $200 million annual budget, and some of that budget comes from the money they get to collect for administering the government's money being doled out to groups around the world involved in varying degrees with the Culture of Death. How is this not upsetting, maddening, to any Catholic who cares about the Church?
The bishops say very little about so-called same-sex marriage while allowing a rampant culture of sodomy among their priests, as well as probably themselves. They push what boils down to a get-out-the-vote effort among Catholics to get Dreamer legislation passed that aligns with Democratic Party interests. They refuse to even acknowledge much less publicly call to task and punish fake Catholic politicians who vote to keep the architecture of the Culture of Death in place. They get rich off government funds they administer to dole out to international efforts supportive of the Culture of Death.
They drone on and on about the death penalty and pretend it is intrinsically evil when Church teaching clearly supports its use however reluctantly. They are happy to jump on the gun control bandwagon in an effort to appear hip and cool and relevant, thereby masking the real problem of shattered families, owing in part to their half-century of neglect in teaching the fullness of the Catholic faith. They issue ridiculous guidelines and harshly worded press releases whenever the phony issue of manmade climate change comes around.
On point after point near and dear to their Democratic bosses who channel billions to them, they adjust, obscure, deflect and fall appropriately silent when necessary. Abortion, abortion funding, illegal immigration, the death penalty, gun control, climate change — they might as well make Nancy Pelosi a bishop; she's more masculine than many of them. Have the bishops ever issued a statement or organized a phone in campaign saying that the government should stop funding contraception? The argument is so easily made about the negative deadly impact of that central evil in the culture that it would take next to no effort to make it — yet, crickets, not a chirp. Even when the heinous Obama HHS contraception mandate was being shoved down the throats of Americans, they didn't style the battle as one over contraception which they could have easily done. No, they chose instead the "safer" path of classing it as a "religious liberty" issue — another wasted opportunity to stand up for Christ in the public square.
This is not how successors of the Apostles behave. This is not how men with supernatural faith associate with the culture. The only people they actually call out are believing Catholics, going after them with a vengeance they should reserve for the Culture of Death. Anything that upsets the funding apple cart or even threatens it must be eliminated and destroyed. Relations with the Party of Death must be kept on as friendly terms as possible. And that abortion thing? Well, a head nod every now and then, you know. But the Modernist crowd which runs the Church these days has even found a way around that inconvenience.
Just ask Democratic Party love-child Chicago Cdl. Blase Cupich, who says that abortion is bad, really bad, but so is not having a job. Yes, child murder is just the same as being unemployed. But in a rare moment of hope, it was reported that Cdl. Cupich did call Sen. Dick Durbin, who had voted for allowing late-term abortions. But in a reality check, turns out Cupich called Durbin not about his vote to allow the killing to go on, but to make sure the Dreamers were supported. Hypocrite.
Too bad many of these bishops who have sold their office to the child murderers aren't themselves unemployed. Pray for these men. They are twisting the Faith to their own political ends and leading souls to Hell. Do they really think there will not be a reckoning?

This special edition is reporting from Austin, Texas, the state capitol, on the eve of the mid-term primaries where the Catholic bishops have gotten themselves into quite a controversy that is now going to threaten the tax exempt status of every diocese in the state and potentially the whole country. More on that most important point after a little background.
There is a great polarization going on, not just in America in general, but within each of the political parties. Liberals want the Democratic party to be even more liberal as evidenced by liberal matriarch Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the oldest serving U.S. senator, not even getting her party's support last week because she isn't liberal enough. Within the Republican party, the same thing is happening. Solid conservatives are fed up with the pussy-footing of what they call RINOs, Republican in Name Only, who vote more moderate on causes near and dear to conservatives, largely social issues like abortion.
Here in Texas, the RINO Establishment has held power for a long time, and this establishment has been largely backed by the Catholic bishops of the state, casting their votes in ways generally approved of by the bishops and their agenda, particularly in regards to illegal immigration issues. Texas is of course greatly impacted by the question of illegals since it shares the longest border of any state with Mexico where most illegals come from.
For many years, the establishment RINOs have voted in a somewhat guarded measure on issues of abortion and end of life concerns, causing Texas to experience a continued slow drop in pro-life status compared to other states. Texas used to be counted as one of the leading pro-life states but has seen that status erode under the RINO influence. While voting "somewhat" pro-life, it hasn't been nearly enough for solid pro-life organizations like Texas Right To Life, which represents hundreds of thousands of Texas' true conservatives and is gaining considerable clout in voting booths. Yet even on some occasions, the so-called pro-life RINOs have actually cast their votes in favor of abortion, for example, when state lawmaker Byron Cook, trumpeted as being pro-life, actually took to the floor and argued in favor of allowing babies diagnosed with deformities to be aborted.
It is precisely this kind of pro-life doublespeak and weak-kneed approach to the life issues that Texas Right to Life and its massive following in Texas want to bring to an end. So the group has become majorly aggressive in seeking to replace the establishment RINOs — the same RINOs who have the backing and support of the Texas Bishops' Conference — and this dynamic has put Texas Right to Life and the bishops on a collision course.
Last week, in what many are viewing as an attempt to directly influence the outcome of tomorrow's midterm elections, the bishops issued an unheard-of, unprecedented rebuke of Texas Right to Life, essentially claiming teaching authority over the group in matters political. The statement consisted of three major points, but the most troublesome point is the third point where they publicly decry the Texas Right To Life Voter Guide, which supports the young and upcoming anti-Establishment Republican candidates primed to upset the old-time GOP Establishment politicians favored by the bishops.
And here is where the bishops may have actually have run afoul of IRS regulations forbidding Church involvement in politics, a rule known as the Johnson Rule, which actually originated under the administration of Texan President Lyndon B. Johnson back in the 1960s. To have injected themselves into statewide political races just a week before the elections and essentially condemned a political activist group by name, a group that publicly backs certain candidates over others, crosses the line and puts the bishops' conference in a position where it could thereby lose its tax-exempt status.
Church Militant has learned exclusively that plans are being drawn up and formulated to file a petition with the IRS to have the tax-exempt status of the Church in Texas completely stripped. It that were to happen, the dollar cost to the dioceses of Texas would run into the hundreds of millions of dollars and bankrupt many dioceses. Additionally, experts observe that since the head of the Texas Catholic Conference, Galveston-Houston Cdl. Daniel DiNardo, is also president of the U.S. bishops' national conference, this could actually extend beyond Texas and impact the tax-exempt status of the entire Church across the country.
If that scenario were to play out which observers tell Church Militant is certainly a possibility, the Church across America would become financially insolvent as the 194 dioceses across the country would have to scramble to sell tens of billions of dollars of assets to pay the exorbitant tax bill that would surely come their way in the absence of their tax-exempt status — billions and billions of dollars presently and moving forward that the federal government would dearly love to get its hands on.
How did this happen? How is it that the bishops of Texas would collectively sign on to an agreement that could potentially bankrupt the Church in the United States? The answer, insiders say, lies with one woman, Jennifer Carr Allmon, the executive director of the Texas Bishops' Conference, the first woman to ever hold that position.
A little background is in order here. The most vocal bishop in support of the attacks against Texas Right to Life has been Fort Worth Bp. Michael Olson who launched a blistering accusatory social media campaign on his Twitter feed, actually telling parishioners to let him know if his orders to his diocesan priests to read the statement of condemnation out loud at Masses from the pulpit were being followed. Olson is the same bishop who ordered Catholic pro-life groups in his diocese not to protest in front of abortion chambers with banners of Our Lady of Guadalupe because the image of Our Lady was offensive to Protestants who might also be protesting.
The behind the scenes of this is that very wealthy supporters of the Church in Fort Worth, who also support the status-quo RINOs, became very concerned that the young Republicans backed by Texas Right to Life were close to capturing the state legislature, according to internal polls. So they reached out to Olson and Jennifer Carr Allmon and said something needed to be done and done quickly before the elections.
One such establishment figure in the Texas legislature the rich want to protect because he is seen as "their man" is Charlie Geren, who barely hung on to his seat in the last election, almost losing to a Texas Right to Life challenger Bo French. That same race is again coming down to the wire and a loss in that race for the GOP-RINO establishment would signal a massive defeat for the status quo, including the bishops who are wedded to that same status quo.
The bishops are interested in maintaining the current political environment because the up and comer Republicans backed by Texas Right to Life are not friendly to the cause of illegal immigration which is the cause fueling the engine of the bishops' political agenda in Texas. If the state of Texas suddenly turns anti-illegal immigration, the Texas bishops stand to lose a great deal, so they are willing to settle for weak pro-life support from RINOs in order to hold on to large sums of money going to what they see as the most important issue — illegal immigration.
If the up and comers score big tomorrow night, it will have devastating consequences for the bishops, so they have gone all in trying to trash those candidates, however indirectly, using a poorly thought-out, as well as, abysmally executed plan put together by Carr Allmon. But the upshot is, in trying to hold on to their favored position of money and influence in Texas, they may have inadvertently set in motion a series of events that could cost them their tax-exempt status and relegate them to political poverty.
Reports are that some of the Texas bishops are now backpedaling from the statement, some even privately denying any advance knowledge of it. Some of this backpedaling appeared to be the case in a Friday afternoon interview on EWTN where San Angelo Bp. Michael Sis downplayed the statement and offered that everyone just needs to find common ground and work together — a radical departure from the aggressive tone of the earlier condemnation.
That the entire tax-exempt status of the Church, certainly in Texas and possibly in the entire country, owing to the connection between both Cdl. Daniel DiNardo, could come down to a hastily compiled statement by one woman, Carr Allmon, in charge of the Texas Bishops' Conference and backed by one hot-tempered bishop wanting to do the bidding of some rich donors with political interests, it's simply mind-boggling. But given the current temperature of the culture with regard to Catholic matters, a financial tsunami could certainly be in the cards for the nation's bishops.
Insiders tell Church Militant the petition to have the tax-exempt status revoked by the IRS is underway and should be completed sometime after the election. Texas now looms as a kind of Alamo for the Church in the United States — a last-stand effort to align themselves with the power brokers and help them hold on to power for their own selfish reasons.
Tomorrow's election results and a future IRS ruling loom very large indeed for the social justice warriors who have had control in the Church for decades. In the ever-widening polarization of the culture, visible in the political division within the parties, the bishops may have just backed the wrong horse in siding with the old guard.
Stay tuned this week to Church Militant for more analysis and the results of these pivotal midterm elections.

This special edition of The Vortex is coming to you from the Texas State Legislature where today is the day that a great realigning of power may begin within the Texas Republican party. But as you might imagine, something like this could not happen without heavy amounts of drama and that drama has been provided by none other than the Catholic bishops of Texas.
Through their agency, the Texas Catholic Conference, they injected themselves into this election while early voting was already underway and, unbelievably, publicly endorsed a slate of candidates. That action now threatens to have the Church in Texas stripped of its tax-exempt status by the IRS as we covered in depth in yesterday's Vortex. The woman behind what some are calling a stupendous political blunder is the executive director of the Texas Catholic Conference, Jennifer Carr Allmon. She produced this statement on behalf of the state's bishops, thus throwing them into these very dangerous waters.
As we revealed yesterday, Church Militant has learned exclusively that a petition is being drawn up for presenting to the IRS, seeking the revoking of the tax-exempt status for the Church in Texas. In the statement, she slammed the most well respected, oldest and largest pro-life organization in the state — Texas Right to Life — ordering bishops and priests to have nothing to do with the group. Bishop Michael Olson of Fort Worth even went so far as to order his priests to read the denouncing statement from the pulpits at Mass, serving as icing on the cake for calls to revoke the Texas bishop's tax exempt status.
Catholic lawmakers in the state legislature were blown away when they learned of the action. On top of it all, Renaldi says the statement is riddled with incorrect statements about Texas Right to Life and needs to be completely rescinded publicly by the bishops. Rinaldi even dashed off a five-page letter to one Texas bishop pointing out all the errors in it. The two groups Rinaldi is speaking off, Texas Alliance for Life and Texans for Life Coalition, are publicly praised and supported in the statement which even provides a link to one of their voter guides, thus cementing the case for revoking the tax exempt status.
There has been a big division in the pro-life world here in Texas, as in many other states, over the best way to advance the pro-life cause legislatively. Here in Texas, it has turned especially ugly because the issue of illegal immigration plays such a large role. The supposed pro-life groups that the bishops' statement praises and publicly endorses also back current Republican establishment types who are also friendly to the Texas bishops' agenda of wide open borders, sanctuary cities, support for DACA and so forth, in short, all things illegal immigration.
Various priests, perhaps without realizing the storm they were wading into, even condemned Texas Right to Life from the pulpits the past couple of weekends and praised the other two groups allied with the GOP establishment. That was the cause of some direct confrontations on the steps of churches, this one at St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Austin where angry supporters of Texas Right to Life challenged the priest immediately following Mass, saying he had no business saying that from the pulpit. After a somewhat heated exchange, the priest admitted that he didn't know the full implications of this whole issue, needed to be more educated on it, was ordered to offer those words and then apologized to the group.
Solid Catholics all over Texas are deeply troubled by this turn of events motivated by partisan politics. It was even the dominant topic of discussion when our crew met with some members of the Church Militant Austin and San Antonio Resistance, as well as Catholics from other parts of the state. Texas Catholics are concerned that bishops here and elsewhere are softening their stand on abortion and even avoiding it in favor of garnering political support for illegal immigration.
A perception is now developing that the bishops aren't really that pro-life, only when it suits their needs — a perception by the faithful that privately, some bishops here are growing increasingly nervous about. Statements like the one by their executive director, Jennifer Carr Allmon, only serve to reinforce this growing perception. One bishop even went on EWTN last week to try and reverse that perception, but for everyday Catholics, as well as legislators like Rinaldi, that interview was not helpful because it sidestepped the real issue — the bishops' continued support and praise for the other groups and red herring claims made against Texas Right to Life.
So what is developing here in Texas, and we'll have a much clearer picture when all of today's voting is done, is if the bishops who have now jeopardized that sacrosanct tax-exempt status to keep establishment Republican lawmakers in place, realize exactly how much they are alienating rank and file Catholics in the process. What many faithful Catholics we spoke with said they need to see to restore any measure of trust is that the statement be publicly rescinded, people responsible for it lose their jobs and a whole new examination of how Church politics operates in Texas be initiated.
If the bishops' chosen candidates, again, a violation of the Johnson Amendment, suffer setbacks when all the votes are done being counted, the bishops may be forced to take a long hard look at their own conference and its leadership and rethink its entire reason for existence. Stay tuned to Church Militant for the results from key races we will be watching — what political junkies call bellwether races — to see how this all plays out. Saddle up, it's going to be a rough ride — the Texas state legislature which may look very different than it does now when this is all said and done.

The gay juggernaut in the Church just continues rolling along. In fact, the competition between Cdls. Blase Cupich of Chicago and Joseph Tobin of Newark for the title of most gay-friendly prelate in the Church is really heating up. But Cdl. Tobin may have just pulled into the lead, considering his speech at Villanova University a week or so ago.
In that speech, the deceptive cardinal said that the Church is "moving" on the question of same-sex couples. That's a lie, first of all. The Church cannot move on anything that Her Divine Founder has established. And it is God Who created them male and female. Same-sex couples are not part of the order of the universe. They are, in fact, a representation of the current disorder, and no amount of political pandering will ever change that.
Sodomy is not a question the Church can ever "move" on, although certain treacherous people in the Church can move on it, and do — traitors to the Faith like Tobin and Cupich. Like the apostolic line from which they are apparently descended, Judas too "moved" on some questions. Tobin cast his comments in the larger context of the Church becoming smaller and purer, a notion which he rejects although it was first made popular by Pope Benedict.
This is the Church of Nice's version of Big Tent Theology: let everybody in, and the more you bring in, the less attention to the Commandments and teachings you have to pay. Tobin — and again, he's not alone — is one of the major cheerleaders for equating care for the environment with the butchering of children in the womb. He thinks climate change deserves as much, if not more, attention in the Church than the murder of children, and since we can't agree with child murderers on that question, well, let's just drop the topic and get on with controlling the weather with them.
Like so many other malformed prelates, he put intrinsic evils on the same footing as prudential judgments, thus blurring the line between good and evil. Hey, Cardinal, here's some rudimentary catechism for you: People don't go to Hell for having a larger-than-average carbon footprint, but they do for killing children in the womb or living in sexually immoral relationships. Tobin, Cupich and the whole crowd of cardinal-deceivers do not believe the Catholic faith, as is evidenced by their non-stop verbal diarrhea distorting the teachings. If they think they believe them, they don't understand them.
Of course, the Church will become smaller, and if he hasn't checked his own diocesan rolls lately, it is becoming smaller every single day. No one who actually believes the Faith wants the Church to become smaller, as Tobin seems to imply. No, we want the whole world to be Catholic, authentically Catholic, through and through. It's just that we understand that when you preach the truths of the Faith in all their stunning glory, a sufficient number of people want to kill you, not convert. But Tobin and company are willing to pitch overboard the teachings of the Faith in order to draw in as many people as possible, which (1) isn't working, and (2) makes no sense. What exactly are people converting to, Your Eminence?
The whole Church of Nice is built on the notion that a genuine zeal for authentic Catholicism is a bad thing because it's offensive and must be watered down so it doesn't come off as "mean." Tobin is wrong. So are all his deceiver cohorts. In the least, they are ignorant, at worst, they are agents of the diabolical, and it's hard to accept that cardinals are ignorant of the Faith. No, the reality is that these men have worked long and hard to undermine every authentically Catholic thing they can in a pretty successful attempt to represent to the world a different Church, which just happens to have the same name.
They were all at Villanova a couple of weeks ago to commemorate Pope Francis' fifth-year anniversary of his election. There's Tobin, who doesn't believe the Faith in its tradition. Then there is Cdl. Oscar Maradiaga, who is embroiled in his own questionable finances involving a local cleric and homosexual payouts from a secret account of embezzled funds, according to reports back in Honduras. And then, of course, there is Antonio Spadaro, who has what could be described as nothing less than raging support for socialism, condemned by the Church more than a century ago, and who lashed out at Church Militant by name last summer from the Vatican. These were just a few of the attendees, but they all have distorted, insufficient views of Who — not what, Who — the Church is. And yes, we have come to this in the Church — laity having to correct cardinals and point out their errors and lies and deceptions.
Tobin is wrong. He is a deceiver. The Church cannot "move" on questions of intrinsic evils, and if he tries to hide behind his vague wording, then he needs to come out and say exactly what he means by saying the "Church is moving" on this question. They are all so desperate to get the Church to accept sodomy, it makes you wonder if they are all gay and have a dog in the fight. It's a reasonable question — reasonable because they never shut up about it.
They want a different Church? They should just quit and go start their own or join one of the many others. Repent and get in line or get out, but stop with the lies and deceptions.

With the recent deaths of both Billy Graham and Barbara Bush, it's worth noting that the memorials and celebrations and hoopla surrounding their lives occasioned by their deaths will have accounted for nothing when they stood before their Judge in eternity. They were recipients of huge accolades in death merely because they were born into or achieved notoriety in life but that notoriety means nothing to God. They are already mingled into the billions of souls who are either long dead and forgotten or shortly will be.
In the midst of all the public secular mourning over the dead, such inane statement are made as "You will live forever in our hearts." Uh, no know they won't, first of all, because the people making the statements will one day be dead themselves and won't be "remembering" anyone. Second of all, they live now in the mercy or justice of God, not in people's memories. A memory has no life of its own. It is entirely invested in by the person with the memory, if they have a memory of the dearly departed at all.
This is not how Catholics respond to death, presenting a false notion which passes away in a few weeks, months or years with the person never to be thought of again. And that will be the lot of everyone one of us — every single one of us. There will come the time when the earth will be full of people who will never know you or I were alive — that we ever walked on the same dirt they are walking on, just as we are now walking around, completely unaware of who was living on our street 50 years ago or certainly 100 years ago. Do you have any conscious thoughts of the 15th century Aztec husband and father who led a normal life and died, say, 50 years later? Nope, you don't even know he was ever alive. That's what people will think, or more to the point, not think of us in 50 or 100 or 500 years. They will not know, not even care, that we once roamed the earth. We will be dead and forgotten unless you are Catholic. That is a pretty bleak depressing scenario.
Think for example of the overdose death of Hollywood actor Heath Ledger who died on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling, January 22. How many people could even say the year he died on that date? Yet, there was the typical outpouring and mourning and beating of breast and endless reporting of the circumstances of his death, funeral and burial, legacy and so forth. That was 10 years ago, 2008, yet for all that endless coverage, how many of us have given the man a single passing thought after all the TV cameras and commentators stopped covering him? And remember, this was someone who had achieved some degree of notoriety in this world, and even with that, he is hardly given a thought or mention anymore. Soon, his own family and friends will also die, and that will be that.
Yet for Catholics, faithful Catholics, when they die, they are remembered — not the way the world remembers and then quickly moves on but in the most important way possible — in the continuing prayers of Holy Mother Church. See, Heath and Billy and Barbara are living right now, but they enjoy none of the notoriety they had in this life, nor do they benefit from it — all the songs and anthems and speeches of praise they are completely unaware of. They have no idea they are even being mentioned unless it is prayers for assistance for the remission of their sins.
Every time we hear of someone famous dying or someone not famous for that fact, folks here at the apostolate immediately say an Eternal Rest for the person and then many of us include that person by way of a virtual intention in every prayer we ever make for the rest of our lives. That's how Catholics remember the dead. We know the dead need not praise but prayers. And we are thankful to Our Blessed Lord who is outside of time for establishing a Church whose prayers transcend the boundaries of time, so that when we are dead and forgotten in the temporal order, we will be forever remembered in the eternal order — the only one that counts.
A usual prayer around the apostolate, which if you pray Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer with us each weekday on our live stream will recognize, includes the line "May the souls of all the faithful departed, especially those who have no one to pray for them, through your sweet mercy, Jesus, rest in peace." We know that the vast majority of the dead, the huge majority, have been completely forgotten to those of us on earth. We also know that this will be our lot as well, all of us, and we will need the prayers of as many who will unite themselves to the prayers of Holy Mother Church. A person who has died will either be alive in Christ through His Church or dead and forgotten to the world and suffering the fires of Hell.

There are huge numbers of homosexual men in the Catholic priesthood. This is the case for a number of historical reasons, which we won't get into in this Vortex because that's not the topic. But what we will address, which is the topic, is how the presence of many of these men is destroying the authentic faith.
First, the more obvious cases — that the overwhelming majority of child-sex abuse cases are committed by homosexual priests. We all know about this situation sadly. But then there are the other criminal cases not involving minors like the case of Fr. Robert DeLand in the diocese of Saginaw, Michigan, a case which is erupting into a national scandal owing to the criminal charges and a recently filed civil suit against not just DeLand but also the diocese and Bp. Joseph Cistone, accused of knowing about and covering up evidence in the case. But all of that, narrowly speaking, is criminal. But not all homosexual priests are either child abusers or brought up on charges of sexual assault by adult males.
Many others lead double lives and have gay lovers on the side or have them employed in the parish and not a few have a separate residence or house where they live with their partner in sodomy. So, far from the criminal reality, spiritually speaking, things are much worse and so bad, in fact, that many in the Church just don't want this cancer of homo-heresy spoken of. In fact, the Church of Nice establishment is well aware of all this and turns downright ugly whenever it's talked about — probably owing to the fact that various members of that establishment are active homosexuals themselves or at the very least supportive of it.
What this is spawning is a presentation of the faith so distorted that a whole new "religion" is being manufactured right in front of our eyes or better stated — a brand new heresy, neatly accommodated to our specific time in history just as previous heresies did. Call it the heresy of Homo-Arianism. Homosexual and homosexualist priests and their supporters in the hierarchy and the establishment know that you cannot hold together the idea that Jesus Christ is divine and that sodomy is a moral good, a blessing from God. So, they play up the nonsense of "acceptance and mercy for homosexuality" and downplay the divinity of Christ.
There is no better presenter of this in the Catholic world today than Jesuit homosexualist James Martin. He has vomited his heresy all over his social media platforms, making ridiculous claims about Our Blessed Lord. For example, Jesus had to learn about his mission from the Syrophoenician woman, indicating, of course, an absence in Christ of understanding He was divine. That "mission" was to redeem mankind through His Passion and death and open the path to salvation for us. Pretty darn sure the Syrophonecian woman didn't help him come to that understanding.
Recently, on a CNN interview, which by the way, the fake news network is the perfect forum for him to spew his fake theology, on that he whined about a series of his talks being canceled. Um, no it wasn't about Jesus but Fr. Martin' Jesus — two completely different Christs. Father Martin's Christ didn't quite understand who He was, approved of sodomy and also rebuked and insulted His Mother when He said to her, "Woman." That last little nugget coming from one of his other writings.
Of course, Martin styles opposition to his heresy as hatred against people who have same-sex attraction and live accordingly because at the end of the day ad hominem attacks are all he has because he will not discuss this on theological terms because he is incapable of doing so because his theology is warped. No, Father, it isn't about homophobia, it's about grave sin which you won't admit because you have reservations about and error in your Christology.
Father Martin can't really believe that Jesus Christ is divine (that's the Arianism) because he believes that his Jesus supports the grave sin of sodomy (that's the "homo" part), hence Homo-Arianism. But he's not alone in his Homo-Arianism. Don't allow yourselves to be fooled. There are many, many priests and bishops who are Homo-Arians. Their heresy is what must be confronted not the silliness of a fake thing called homophobia.

As we find ourselves in this greatest season of the Church and are subsumed into the heart of the Paschal mystery, let's think about the humanity of Our Blessed Lord. It was through His human Body that He chose to save us and in fact did save us. So, the Body of Christ, in its Flesh and bloodiness, should inspire some meditation and consideration from us.
Let's first begin considering that the Flesh and bones of the Incarnation were imbued with the Divinity, so on their own they could not suffer or bear pain. All the usual maladies that accompany our human nature in the flesh were not "natural" to Our Lord as they are to us, for He was not fallen as we are. Christ did not have what we could term a "natural humanity" as we do but rather what we could call a "supernatural humanity." And that supernatural humanity had as its sole end to bear the pain of sin of all human history. He created His own Body for the sole purpose of enduring agony — the agony of the ages, the physical effect of every sin ever committed by every last person. Christ bore in His flesh for all humanity what no single individual human could bear even for himself, for such is the weight and agony and burden of sin in the flesh.
As Our Blessed Lord hung on the Cross in His Flesh, He bore the actual physical pain, the physical effects of all sin scattered across all time, in one single moment, for all time summed up in this instant of time — all collapsed, crashing into this solitary terrible moment, as the spiritual pain of sin He bore in His Soul, the physical pain of sin He bore in His Flesh. This is why no mere man with just natural humanity could suffice for the eternal sacrifice — no man could bear it. The humanity of Our Lord was no natural humanity; it was completely informed by His Divinity, making it a supernatural humanity. By itself, His humanity was not subject to pain, disease or even death.
Our Lord permitted the usual afflictions resulting from our sin to be felt in His Flesh, but they could not approach Him without His Divine consent, for this was not a Body trapped by the effects of sin. He spoke time and again of His hour having not yet arrived, and until it did, He was untouchable. He moved right through crowds seeking to rip him apart, walking as the Gospel tells us straight through their midst when they were ready to hurl Him over the cliff. Recall also that He said, "No one takes my life from me. I have the power to lay it down and take it up again." Christ, Himself, decided the time, manner and circumstances of His own death, in the Body He specifically designed for this end. Think then of this Body laying lifeless in the tomb from Good Friday until the moments before dawn on that first Easter Sunday. It did not undergo corruption, it did not experience decomposition, for those are the further effects of sin. No, it laid there waiting, anticipating its Resurrection as the Master Creator of it re-vivified it with a splendor and glorious eruption of Divine power never before asserted in all history.
Scientists who have studied the shroud of Turin that many believe is the burial cloth of Our Blessed Lord have concluded that the image on the Shroud was produced by 34,000 billion watts of energy, VUV energy to be scientific about it — 34 trillion watts because that's how much light emitted in a split second from inside a whipped, scourged, crucified Corpse to burn its image onto the cloth. But beyond the actual science of all of it, meditate for a moment of the glorified Body itself and Our Lord's reanimation in the flesh. Prior to this moment in the tomb, His sacred Flesh had experienced nothing but pain and suffering.
God felt the pain of hunger, the cold wind, the exhaustion of the Body, thirst, the soreness of feet on the hard stone-covered ground and, of course, the piercing of spikes pinning Him to the wood of the Cross. And remember, wood was the first and last thing that His Body felt on this earth — from the manger to Golgotha. But here, underneath Him in the tomb was rock, not wood. The first sensation His resurrected Flesh would have would be stone. Imagine that first instant He opened His eyes the tomb illuminated from within by His own supernatural, supra-nuclear blast of Divinity reunited with His body. He had promised this, this very moment, that death would not have the last and final word. He — Life itself — would have the final say and dispatch death and its sad effects to the netherworld. And in dispatching death, He not only merely disposed of it, He made it suffer a most humiliating defeat, blown to pieces in the glory of a Divine blast of energy.
This was the beginning of an entirely new creation, and as the former creation had begun with the blast of light, "let there be light," so too the new creation began but with an even more brilliant surge and exercise of Divine power. Assuming Our Blessed Lord touched His own sacred Wounds, what joy, what infinite joy would flood His Soul as He examined the marks of agony now translated into scars of victory. The tears on His forehead were the markers for the placement of His Divine Crown.
How was it for Him, walking out from the tomb, so glorious, so resplendent with victory as the conquering King arriving back from battle? Now, His Body, His flesh which had borne so much pain was now accorded its due, able to experience and feel the beauty and joy of creation on a level it was denied before. Tombs, walls, doors, could no longer contain Him as He had willed that they do before. All the earth became a playground, as it were, for its Creator. Imagine as He walked on the ground, it would now be supple and warm and embracing of His beautiful feet, those same feet the Psalmist spoke of. As He breathed, the life of the air which He created filled His lungs and blew back out. Through His eyes, He looked out on a world He not only created and brought into existence but now had been redeemed by Him.
He gave earth life once, and now He had given it a new and better life. And how He longed for all His most beloved creatures — those He made in His own image and likeness to share in His same vision — through His very eyes. He used His Body to make the fire by the seashore to cook fish for the Apostles. What must Our Beloved Savior have been thinking as He touched the wood and arranged it to make the fire — Divine irony? Wood, which was the first element of creation and the last to press upon His flesh, was now picked up in His resurrected Flesh and used to make a fire to cook a meal for His loved ones.
From all of us here at Church Militant and St. Michael's Media, a very Holy, Happy Easter to each one of you and your loved ones. God love you and keep you and bring you to everlasting Easter joy.

It's so difficult being Catholic, in more ways than one. There is of course the struggle to always fight evil within ourselves, to overcome the lure of sin and maintain a right relationship with God. But there is also the struggle to resist being overwhelmed by the catastrophic state of affairs in the Church these days. Consider this past weekend; the usual Christmas-Easter crowd of Catholics jammed parishes in their usual semi-annual appearance, and practically to a man, they all went up and received Holy Communion.
Think about this for a moment. On the greatest holy day in the Church, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of sacrilegious Holy Communions were made — and before the Church of Nice supporters say, "You don't know that; maybe they all went to confession." Right! The truly horrible thing here is no one warned them — not the bishops of the dioceses, not the priests who distributed Our Lord's Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity to them; no one.
The clergy knows this drill. Many of them are excited to see the collection offering swell on these days. They know there are people in those pews who are in an objective state of mortal sin for deliberately refusing to attend Mass the other 51 Sundays of the year and therefore have no business approaching the altar, and yet they say nothing. Nothing! Do they not realize the blood of these people will be on their heads for failing to instruct?
The joy of Easter mingled with the sadness of sacrilege on a grand scale — those bishops who fail to instruct their clergy in this regard, to warn people to stay away and not receive the Sacred Body and Blood of Our Blessed Lord unworthily, are in for a rude awakening when they die and come before that same Jesus Christ. Why was an announcement not read out in every parish in every diocese saying to the effect: "Do not approach lest you be guilty of the murder of the Lord"?
They have no problem making announcements about immigration. They have no problem making announcements about the annual diocesan collection. But on the matters of teaching, they fall completely silent.
What are the future priests being taught in seminary? Couldn't a parish priest take it upon himself to warn the people? Do they think it is just a nice Sunday morning get-together to all feel warm and fuzzy about each other? They should be saying it at every Mass, every Sunday. Get to confession.
But the emphasis in seminary after seminary these days is on making the people feel nice and comfortable and friendly and all that. None of that will do them one lick of good when they are being damned and plunging into Hellfire, and the errant and silent clergy will have their sufferings increased when they meet these souls in Hell. Do the clergy really believe in Hell? Do they not believe that free will can be exercised in such a way that it can condemn someone for eternity?
How did we get here? How is it that so many Catholics in the pews and clergy in the sanctuary can cooperate in such a praxis of evil, pretending everything is joyous and wonderful while souls are tumbling into Hell as they pile up sacrilege upon sacrilege?
For the past century, the attacks against the Church have reached levels as to nearly shake Her foundations. Satan has leveled a non-stop assault against the Faith in the 20th century like he never has in any previous century.
He began by intensifying his control over the world, and then that spilled over into the Church through corrupt clerics. It has been maintained in the Church now, even to this very hour, by cowardly clerics who have been so malformed as to have lost nearly all sense of their own Catholic identity.
There is only one way to resist and fight back against this, as there has only ever been one way to resist and fight it, and that is for you, not the guy next to you, but you to become a saint. And for the record, if you don't die a saint, you cannot enter Heaven. You must be in the state of grace when you breathe your last, or you are damned by your own free will.
It's time to reclaim our Catholic identity. It's time to take the fight to the gates of Hell. This is what the majority of Catholics always understood their purpose of life to be up until roughly the last 50–60 years.
