If you had to point to one leading cause of the collapse of the Church, which has led to the collapse of the culture, you would have to have near the top of the list — if not the very top — the complicity of the enablers (especially wealthy enablers) of the U.S. bishops.
There is oftentimes a disturbing dynamic between the wealthy and their parasites, especially if the parasites bring a certain level of respectability and their own cache.
While this is true in various walks of life, it is especially true in the Church when bishops kiss up to the wealthy for obvious reasons, but the wealthy also get their pound of flesh by rubbing elbows with the hierarchy. They get to tell their friends that they've "just come back from dinner with the cardinal."
Both the wealthy and the bishops are lying to each other and enabling each other's respective weaknesses. For example, typically speaking, the wealthy are normally buttoned down. They seldom make a fuss or step outside the accepted boundaries of proper etiquette. All "distasteful" issues are handled in private, in what can easily be described as an underhanded way.
This, of course, is business as usual for the nation's prelates. These manipulative males know that they have the influence to stoke the egos of the wealthy, and they play them. But the games are reciprocal. The wealthy know the bishops want their money, so that ensures them that they get a place at the table.
Sometimes, wealthy people having access to the halls of power is a good thing, depending on how they use their influence. But too often, it's just an exercise in ego gratification. Such is the case with the very wealthy Tim Busch of the Napa Institute, who is very good friends with many bishops in the United States. They stoke the fires of his ego in exchange for access to his checkbook.
In fact, he has donated and raised tens of millions of dollars for various ventures, including for Catholic University of America where the extremely impressive School of Business bears his name. To be fair, Busch does help all sorts of Catholic causes, but always under the banner of the bishops.
Each year, Busch sponsors a gathering in the wine country of Napa Valley at his prestigious Meritage Resort and Spa, an event where he rakes in huge sums of money from Catholics who are largely unaware of the horrible condition of the Church. To lure them there, he always has a number of notable bishops with some degree of name recognition among the polite Catholic crowd. Owing to the generosity of a certain donor, Church Militant was able to attend last year.
From day one, we began filming Vortex reports based on conversations with many of the 800 fellow attendees. Those Vortex reports caused Busch to flip out and comment to those around him that he wasn't sure what to do with Church Militant there. So, on the second evening, he approached me at the wine and cigar event and invited me to meet with him the next day to, in his words, "get to know each other."
I accepted, and he and I and one of his assistants had a cordial meeting for around an hour. We also agreed tentatively that when he was going to be back in Detroit in the early fall, he would try and come by the studios for a visit.
We texted with some regularity over the next few weeks, but then as the time for a visit drew near, the expected ghosting started, and then the non-responses started. Now, normally, none of this would be worth commenting on, much less even revealing at all, but it's what happened last month that makes this now worth talking about.
The same donor contacted us and said he would like us to attend again and that he would pay. Our names were submitted by his assistant back in March and the reservations were made in plenty of time to secure the rooms. The same donor also reserved a room for Fr. James Altman.
Well, lo and behold, when the assistant contacted the Napa Institute to confirm all was good to go (after having received a confirmation back when the reservations were originally made months ago), he was told there had been a "clerical error" and the Church Militant crew and Fr. Altman had been moved to a waiting list.
Shocked that a clerical snafu like that could happen, the donor's assistant called to dig deeper and got a voicemail, and that's where the truth came out. The original communication that there were no rooms was actually a lie — that's not why Church Militant and Fr. Altman had been taken off the list.
It was because of the "controversy" — and here is where the "bull-puckey" of the relationship between the wealthy and the bishops gets all weird and twisted and enabling. When Church Militant was in Napa last year, we were greeted very warmly by many of the attendees, many of whom thanked us for exposing the filth in the hierarchy. In fact, a number of priests in attendance even said so. Faithful Catholics, those in the know, are sick to death of the cover-up of all this filth, namely the presence and acceptance of homosexuality in the clergy.
That singular rot has destroyed the Church in the United States, but, apparently, the wealthy have not gotten that memo. They protect and enable this filth with their emasculated approach of never being controversial, never giving offense. It wouldn't be "cricket," you know. It's too gauche. We aren't barbarians. We are gentlemen.
No, you aren't. You're a bunch of sneaks who play dirty pool. Tim Busch made the decision to cancel Church Militant and Fr. James Altman because his bishop buddies told him to, or he knew they would like it that way. Busch's Napa party has dozens of conferences and speakers and chances for people to talk and so forth. Yet, nowhere on the docket, nowhere at any time, is the topic of homosexuality among the bishops ever allowed to be talked about.
Nowhere is any bishop ever put under the spotlight and asked why they go along with this filth. Why do they seem to think that ordaining homosexual men is okay?
Heck, Fr. Altman's bishop, William Callahan in La Crosse, not only thinks it's okay but actually assigned Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill back into active ministry after it was revealed he was having gay-sex hookups with countless men through a phone app called Grindr.
Wouldn't a setting like Napa — loaded with faithful Catholics who love the Church — be the perfect setting to talk about all this evil and what to do about it with the free and unrestricted dialogue and "listening sessions" that Busch's buddy-bishops promote nonstop?
The Napa event is billed as bringing together bright minds and various lectures all geared to restoring the Faith and reinvigorating the culture. Bull. That may be Tim Busch's fantasy, but that's all it is, fantastical. The gay steamroller is plowing through the Church and yet the bishops are never questioned about it. They never have to give an account for it and are given a complete pass by their wealthy friends.
At the four-bishop Q&A panel last year, no one was actually allowed to ask questions. The bishops were given the questions the night before, and they were asked by a hand-picked moderator.
Wealthy complicit friends are excellent at ignoring "uncomfortable" situations and shielding the bishops. For example, in a handwritten note to Tim Busch and John Meyer, Busch's henchman at Napa, the donor (who pays for various people to attend) asked for them to call Church Militant and Fr. Altman and explain why we were all canceled.
Here's his handwritten note from last week to Busch and Meyer:
"I would like to talk, but please first communicate with Michael Voris and Fr. Altman as they were the ones you are canceling, and this is between you and them. I don't want to be used to deliver a message like this. It is not professional."
The donor was assured by Meyer that Church Militant and Fr. Altman would get a call. John Meyer lied.
Despite being given our private contact information, neither Fr. Altman nor Church Militant ever got any communication from Busch or John Meyer because the cooperators with wicked or cowardly bishops don't ever operate in truth. They are always angling, trying to figure out the best strategy for avoiding controversy and how to do the bidding of bishops who never say the truth in its fullness.
Why would anyone want to go to a "Catholic conference" orchestrated by enablers and liars? Sure, some good things might be presented, but so what?
Last year at the conference, I personally went up to a number of the bishops in attendance and asked the very uncomfortable questions that Busch never allows to be asked. I asked why they won't publicly condemn James Martin; why they never admit that the sex abuse problem is a homosexual clergy problem; qhy they will not confess the failing of the hierarchy — past and present —- in staying silent on sodomy within their own ranks.
At last year's conference, the news about Msgr. Grindr had just broken, and many attendees were talking about it, but in Tim Busch's and John Meyer's Napa bubble, it was like it never happened. Busch and Meyer only allow what the bishops allow to be talked about at Napa. The Napa event is nothing more than a grandiose Church-of-Nice gathering. The filth — the truth — is never permitted to be spoken of from any stage.
Busch is an emasculated coward who gets his ego stroked by being embraced by the bishops. Hey, Tim, you can't buy your way into Heaven. And on that score, Tim, your wealth, permitted to come your way by Almighty God for His glory, doesn't really belong to you. You are merely a temporary custodian of it, and it (and the access it gives you to the hierarchy) was given to you so that you may effect change in a real way, not by building Catholic buildings and naming them after yourself. Very few individuals have the access to these weak cowards that you have, and you have not helped them in any way. You have enabled them in their cowardice, not called them to greatness.
You are good friends with L.A. archbishop José Gómez . Do you ever tell him that his rule over that abomination of an archdiocese is shameful? You are good buddies with the extremely proud and retired archbishop Charles Chaput. Do you ever tell him to lose his massive ego and fess up to all he knows about episcopal corruption?
Of course you don't. You rationalize your way through these relationships, fooling yourself and them into thinking you are accomplishing good. You aren't. You could have done so much more. But relatively speaking, you did little.
With much wealth and much influence comes the concomitant responsibility to do much. The Church is on fire and you are hosting lunches. You have too little concern for truth where you have to pay a price personally. That's not being a man. It's being a coward. You didn't even have the courage to tell me your decision to my face or Fr. Altman's face.
You completely ignored the donor who told you he didn't want to do your dirty work for you. You had him actually lie to the donor, telling him that Church Militant and Fr. Altman would get a call to tell us all this personally.
Your guy, John Meyer, actually told the donor that Fr. Altman was canceled because he didn't have a letter from his bishop saying he was in good standing. That's another lie from Busch and Meyer. That's three lies for those of you at home keeping score.
Fr. Altman wasn't speaking. He was going to be there as nothing more than a private attendee. Do all the other attendees have to produce a letter of good standing? Is that why Church Militant was canceled? But these are the circles you run in: liars, enablers, complicit cowards.
No one challenges you, Tim, because you have the money. And you don't challenge the bishops because you prize their association even more than the truth, which is why you lie. For all your wealth, the Church is not better off because of you. You crush the uncomfortable truth.
But you go on and fool yourself into thinking you're accomplishing something for the Church by raking in money at your conference and rubbing elbows with bishops and hosting speakers with their esoteric topics. You've been doing this for over ten years now and yet things just keep getting worse in the Church.
So go ahead with the party — just have some integrity to stop billing it as saving the Church or the culture. Bill it for what it is: a party in wine country where uncomfortable truth is suppressed, but good wine is served. You are part of the problem, Tim, not the solution.
If you really wanted to be part of the solution, you would invite Church Militant to come give a conference on all the evil and filth we've uncovered and reported on for years, and have the bishops sitting there. Then you'd open the floor to questions for the bishops.
But cowards and liars don't operate that way. It hits too close to home.
Registered attendees should cancel by the droves. But, of course, in another deceptive move, you changed the cancellation/refund policy the same day you lied to the donor about Church Militant and Fr. Altman. Was that in anticipation of people being ticked off and wanting to cancel once this all became public?
As a final note, someone on the inside of the Napa Institute who became aware of all this was so disturbed by the unfairness of it, they sent us the attendee list with a note to send this anticipated Vortex to everyone coming.

Back in the day, one of our heroes here at Church Militant, the Venerable Abp. Fulton Sheen, correctly observed: "The world is rapidly being divided into two camps: the comradeship of anti-Christ and the brotherhood of Christ. The lines between these two are being drawn."
As we said, that was back in the day.
Fast forward more than half a century, and it's pretty safe to say that the lines are no longer being drawn but are pretty bright. Notice Sheen's own line-drawing is showing the lay of the land: Brothers share the same blood and are united because of their bonds. Comrades simply share the same ideology and are united in their pursuit of destruction, with a healthy dose of self-interest mixed in.
The line drawn between the forces of Christ and anti-Christ relates directly to communism — and not really the economic aspect but the theological aspect. At the heart of communism is not so much godlessness per se, but rather a swapping of gods. It's the overthrow of God and the replacement of Him by the State.
For all the bluster on the Left (that would be the communist Left, as it has now been revealed), it's not so much about their adherence to atheism, but rather what god. Communists aren't atheists in any way beyond the most strict sense. True, they reject the notion of a divinity, a supernatural life, a personal Creator and all of that. But when it comes to the idea of "all-powerful" or omnipotence, they embrace it because they view the State as stepping in and filling that role. But we need to break it down even further.
For communists, the State also doesn't really exist. The State is always run by someone — a person, a ruling class or elites. For communism, despite all the lies about "power to the people," the State is merely the mechanism whereby a select few or a single individual rules over all. The State serves as the bureaucracy by which the will of the elite is exerted — nothing more.
Therefore, power, authority and rule are simply transferred from God as He is in Himself, to a human who acts as God — hence, Sheen’s reference to the anti-Christ. When Sheen first said those words, the picture was not clear, at least not in many minds of the time. But now it is abundantly clear, and the communist Left is quite open about it.
The final push is in high gear now, and they won't stop until they have what they want. Their final obstacle is the last remaining vestiges of Christian morality, specifically Catholic morality. That's why it was so important to worm their way into the Church almost a century ago, to undermine the sacred offices which espouse that morality.
Antonio Gramsci, the founder of the Italian Communist Party, recognized the need to overthrow the Catholic Church because it was the underpinning of cultural morality. He said it wasn't enough to simply get rid of capitalism and existing political structures, but communism would have to go to the root and destroy the cultural system upon which those structures emerged.
The moral system he spoke of —the particular worldview — was Catholicism, announcing the truth of the dignity of man made in the image and likeness of God; the truth that this thereby grants to man certain rights that the State may not take away. If you are a person or group seeking to wrest control from the prevailing order built on Catholicism, then sooner or later, you must attack Catholicism itself.
And the most prominent example playing out right now is the fight over abortion and the likelihood of Roe v. Wade being overturned by the end of the month. Protestant buildings are being defaced, burned down and vandalized. Catholic churches are being attacked. The communist anger over the possibility of Roe v. Wade's impending demise isn't so much about abortion per se but rather what abortion accomplishes. Abortion is the highest form of rejection of Catholic morality.
That's why we see all the signs and hear all the chants about keeping "your rosaries off my ovaries" and "your theology out of my uterus." Abortion becomes the means by which communists can lock down their power because it totally undermines all goodness. It turns mothers into murderers; weaponizes the powers of the State against the most defenseless; tears away from God the power over life and death; becomes a litmus test to hold office.
An entire multibillion-dollar industry is created that fuels political campaigns and keeps the forces of the anti-Christ in power. Of course, something so evil as child-killing would spawn so many other evils as well.
The family is destroyed because the hookup culture becomes supreme. Men are "unshackled" from their responsibility to exercise self-control, and women are duped into thinking liberty is their ability to sleep around. The entire moral fabric of the culture is torn away as sex becomes about pleasure and nothing more.
Consequently, we see the rise of sodomy, the perversion of children by drag queens in schools and the entire curriculum based on sexual distortion and confusion. This has been able to advance this far because generations of people who thought this wouldn't happen sat by as it was happening.
All the while, anti-Christ was busy in political as well as Church circles and now there is only a narrow window left to repel all this. This is the sole impetus for Church Militant's upcoming "Call to Action" convention to be held here in Detroit in late August.
We cannot overstress the importance of coming to this convention and learning how to combat all this evil — both in the Church and the culture, specifically the political realm. The whole point is to equip you with strategies and tools to fight back in your own communities.
Anyone attending the convention already knows the peril their families, their loved ones and their nation are in, so there won’t be any speeches and so forth about all that. We already know. However, there will be experts who have been on the frontlines of this battle in the Church and the culture or both who are now willing to train you to engage in the battle.
The world has changed, and the only valid response on the part of the brotherhood of Christ is to now sacrifice to rise up and confront the comradeship of anti-Christ. There is no guarantee that a culture so far gone can be saved. But there is a guarantee that to not fight to save it ensures its defeat.

The collapse of the Church in America began right here in Detroit in the 1960s under a man hailed at his death by secular media giants as "the most liberal" churchman in the country.
Cardinal John Dearden was "woke" before "woke" became a thing. And for the record, being "woke" began in the Church long before it assailed the culture. In fact, "wokeness" in the culture owes its existence first to dissidents in the Church. And among the leaders, none plays as prominent a role as Cdl. Dearden.
For example, hardly a night passes on Church Militant Evening News where we aren't reporting on some craziness being proposed at synods and their warm-up periods, known as "listening sessions." The whole "synod madness" was first unleashed in modern times by John Dearden, who in 1969 launched "listening sessions" and the follow-up synod right here in Detroit.
The scheme, which Dearden created the blueprint for, was pretty simple: Announce it's time for change and that the voice of the people must be heard; then schedule meetings in parishes where the least faithful can attend and "get on the record" about what the Church needs to change; then gather all the notes, compile a list of grievances and call the synod into being.
Of course, at the synod, only "special delegates" whose agendas happen to conveniently dovetail with the liberal agenda are allowed to speak and make presentations. At the end of the synod, the liberals gather, compile a document making the recommendations they always planned to make, and then publish it. Armed then with their "this is the voice of the people of God" propaganda document, they set off to effect the change they now had cover for.
This first happened here in Detroit in 1969 as a trial run, the lead-up to a giant conference that Dearden named "Call to Action" that would also happen here in Detroit in October of 1976, just a few years after the local synod warm-up act.
And thus was born in the United States the deceptive practice by theological dissidents of stacking the deck with hand-selected delegates, calling a much-ballyhooed convention and producing a document after it was all over that was largely written before the convention, at least in principle.
The 1976 Detroit "Call to Action" convention had more than a thousand delegates from all over the country attend as well as another thousand "observers." The organizers had, of course, tapped their media allies at the New York Times and Washington Post as well as local Detroit papers to write glowing stories and pump into both the Catholic and secular bloodstream the notion of a "new Church," a "Church of Tomorrow."
It all worked beautifully.
Dearden's "Call to Action" convention was actually an official event of the U.S. bishops' conference. But so closely did it follow Dearden's synod blueprint from seven years earlier — from 18 months of "listening sessions" in five dioceses around the nation to the actual convention in Detroit in 1976 to the final document and the bishops' conference response — it set in motion affairs that are now causing the Church to die in America.
It was directly because of that "Call to Action" convention that the entire so-called social justice initiative was born in the Church and slammed into overdrive under the then-president of the bishops' conference, Cdl. Joseph Bernardin, the protégé of Dearden, who was indeed hand-selected by him a few years earlier.
Dearden's "Call to Action" convention has, of course, come and gone, but its effects remain — in fact, they have metastasized in the Church. Those thousand-plus delegates left Detroit and went back to their respective dioceses hell-bent on instituting anything and everything they could to change the church in the United States. And, boy, did they ever.
Social justice offices were set up in dioceses all over the country; offices for gay outreach began emerging; homosexual groups (like Dignity) started forming or accelerating all over the Church; a new emphasis on dumping all traditions gained traction everywhere.
All of this happening in the Church fueled everything happening in the culture and gave structure to radical societal change; the unleashing of anti-family contingents, pro-sodomy factions and so forth.
By the time the 1980s dawned, all the seeds or time bombs were securely in place. All that would be needed would be a generation, perhaps two, for it all to explode. Dissidents, liberals and architects of societal upheaval are all good at planning the big-vision stuff.
Likewise, conservatives are horrible at it. This needs to change. Evil advances when good men do nothing.
The reason we have gone through this little history lesson today is to officially announce Church Militant's very own "Call to Action" convention to be held here in Detroit in late August. Since it all began here in Motown, we decided it would be fitting to begin the process of reversing all this theological and cultural chaos right here where it all began.
We've even adopted the exact same name — "Call to Action" — to stuff it in the faces of the destroyers, both those in the Church and the culture. And in a very cool turn of events, our "Call to Action" convention will even happen in the exact same building that Dearden's "Call to Action" convention did.
While the name of the building has changed from Cobo Hall to Huntington Place, it’s the same facility. And for those following closely, it's also the same building where all the cheating was going on in Detroit in 2020 during the vote counting when they covered up the windows so poll watchers couldn't see the cheating.
The thrust of our "Call to Action" convention will be exactly the same as Dearden's, only in reverse. Its aim is to equip you with actual hands-on training to go back and reclaim the Church and the culture. There is a counter-revolution brewing both in deeply religious circles and in solid political conservative circles, and that counter-revolution needs a jumping-off point, a blueprint to follow.
Church Militant is the only Catholic organization capable of pulling off something like this. And yes, the entire effort needs to be led by faithful Catholics, inspired by a universal vision — a Catholic vision.
So the Church Militant "Call to Action" event will have as its chief aim the universal change for the culture — change for the better. At the heart of it will be dozens of experienced panelists instructing you on how to effect change in all sorts of arenas, the nitty-gritty of battle. You'll hear from and be able to ask questions of notables from every field of engagement in the Church as well as the culture, with a heavy emphasis on how the two overlap.
Like Dearden's destructive "Call to Action" convention almost 50 years ago, we are also aiming for a thousand men and women dedicated to getting into the fight. This will not be a convention of whining and speeches about what we all already know and agree on, but a training session to arm you with what you need to know to bring about the change; the reversal of the chaos that has gripped the culture and that is so demonic in its roots.
It is a spiritual war, but the fight cannot be contained to just the spiritual plain, because the destruction happens on the temporal plain as well. It must be fought on two fronts — spiritual and temporal. We're going to be speaking about all this and much more, but if you want details and want to sign up now for your credentials, please go to the link and do so.
Conservatives are great at talking and making points, but when it comes to actual hand-to-hand combat, organizing and effecting change, they are certainly nowhere near as good as the forces of darkness. This "sit on your butt and post on social media" approach has got to change. Signing online petitions — used to covertly capture your email address for future fundraising — is useless. They are also deceptive because they delude you into thinking you have done something and that you are "in the fight." You aren't.
Likewise, listening to podcasts that have no purpose other than to get you all hepped up, how does that effect change? It doesn't.
There are many things that need to be done in the actual world, not the virtual world, or at least not just in the virtual world. James Martin, for example, doesn't just post on social media. He actually physically goes to places. He publishes actual books. The results of the evil, however they are manifested, are always felt in the actual world. That's where the effort needs to be most concentrated.
That requires a physical presence. not just a virtual one. We are human beings who need to be in each other's actual presence as well. The communists know this, and they are very good at it. They stage protests; they hold conventions; they bring about actual change.
This is why Church Militant is sponsoring our "Call to Action" convention: to network in person, instruct in person and assemble for battle in person. Please make the commitment to be here in Detroit by clicking here.
You are being called to action. Answer the call.

Happy first day of summer. As we begin the summer of 2022, we thought it might be a good idea to look back at the summer of 2018, also known as the Summer of Shame.
In fact, this past Sunday, Father's Day, ironically enough, was the four-year anniversary of the official and public revelations about Theodore McCarrick.
McCarrick was the most powerful cardinal in the United States and one of the most powerful and influential in the world. When news broke that he had been accused of sexual abuse during his time as a priest in New York, media reports — both Catholic and secular — exploded.
It was the Summer of Shame for the Church, but it also turned out to be a summer of vindication for Church Militant, who had been reporting on this filth within the hierarchy for years while being attacked left and right for it and largely written off.
While we aren't happy that all this is true, we are certainly happy that it has all come out. The bottom-line result of all of this has been a meltdown of trust in the hierarchy and, frankly, that should be the response. As a whole, these scoundrels possess no supernatural faith and lead souls to Hell.
But, of course, everything is a process, even damnation.
When the news broke from the archdiocese of New York that a former altar boy at St. Patrick's Cathedral was accusing then-Fr. McCarrick of having groped him in the sacristy before midnight Mass, the "I knew nothing" machine went into overdrive. Various cardinals and archbishops, many of whom were advanced by McCarrick, suddenly became the least aware males on the planet.
Kevin Farrell claims he couldn't believe his ears. Leading the charge was the charlatan who had replaced McCarrick as archbishop of D.C., Cdl. Donald Wuerl. He, too, had never heard anything of any of this at any time. And his response was simple: "Trust the bishops."
Except, of course, he had heard of all of it. Then, as the initial report became more widely discussed, more information started pouring out. The diocese paid for the infamous beach house on the Jersey Shore where McCarrick routinely took one more seminarian than there was the correct number of beds for, so they ended up in his bed.
This went on for years and everyone knew it, even some of the bishops who reportedly dropped in for a little fun themselves.
Then, further reports indicated McCarrick's romps had produced a number of secret settlement payments where insurance companies had been involved. Not too long after that, the hideous and revolting story came to light about James Grein and McCarrick's decades-long abuse of him, having gotten to first know him by cozying up to the family when James was still young.
McCarrick had gotten to know the Grein family because of his high school days at Fordham Prep in New York. For the record, McCarrick was a model student and even a student leader at a previous New York high school, Xavier, where yearbook photos obtained by Church Militant show all that.
But after two full years, he was expelled in the fall of his junior year in 1946 and then reemerged at Fordham Prep in the fall of 1947 before graduating in the spring of 1949.
But in between being expelled from Xavier in the fall of 1946 and reappearing at Fordham in the fall of 1947, a full year went by, and no one seems to be able to give any explanation of where he was or what he was doing during that year.
Fordham was an extremely prestigious school, as was Xavier, and it is very unlikely that a poor, no-name student who had been expelled from one would be admitted to the other unless he had someone influential promoting him.
During McCarrick's high school years, Cdl. Francis Spellman was the archbishop of New York. Spellman was so influential and feared that his nickname was "The Powerhouse." Speculation is rampant among those with more than passing knowledge that he was an active homosexual and that, somehow, he and McCarrick encountered each other during McCarrick's "missing year," and it was Spellman that got him enrolled in Fordham.
In either case, it was Spellman who eventually ordained McCarrick for the archdiocese of New York in 1958, thus setting in motion one of the most notorious cases of clerical abuse of both minors and seminarians in the Church's history.
But what catapulted the infamy of the McCarrick case to its current level isn't so much his crimes, for surely there are many in robes who conduct their lives and careers the same way, but rather the extensive cover-up of his filth by so many fellow clerics.
McCarrick rose to power through a scheme of bribes and blackmail, as well as likely communist influence during another "missing year" when he ended up in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
It was discovered by Church Militant during the Summer of Shame that St. Gallen was one of the dozens of locations around Europe set up by the Soviets after World War II as secret training centers for communist agents. McCarrick's entire career was so convoluted and so entwined with scandal and corruption that it is impossible that no one else in the clergy knew about it.
He was attacking seminarians, having insurance settlements paid on his behalf by the Church, backing the careers and advancements of multiple morally corrupt clergy into high-ranking posts — men like Joseph Tobin, Blase Cupich, Robert McElroy, Kevin Farrell — each one of them cardinals who will be part of electing the next pope.
It was McCarrick who negotiated the infamous China-Vatican accord that got Cdl. Zen imprisoned for speaking up to defend Chinese Catholics. And while a little-known loophole in Massachusetts law has allowed McCarrick to be brought up on criminal charges from a decades-old case, not a single thing has happened to his network in the Church.
The same men he advanced have still not been dealt with. Not a single bishop has stepped forward and admitted to a single thing. Every one of them claimed they knew nothing; heard nothing; were aware of nothing.
The cases against McCarrick in Canon Law courts continue to drag on while victims are offered paltry sums in secret to shut up and go away. These malefactors regard truth as an enemy. They have no regard for the victims, justice, the Church or God.
And just to be clear, every bit of this is owing to the homosexual cover-up network so dominant in the Church. It's the same network that allows James Martin to freely roam about. It's the same network that allows bishops like Richard Stika of Knoxville to house a predator homosexual seminarian in his residence and that allows Joseph Tobin to house a homosexual Italian underwear model in his residence. It's the same network that allows men like Thomas Rosica to lie to the international press corps every day during the synods on the family that the Church welcomes homosexuality. It's the same network that permits Msgr. Grindr to be reestablished in a parish and that produces scandal after scandal in the Church, destroying the Faith and leading souls to perdition.
McCarrick is only personally in the spotlight these days because of that loophole in the criminal code that allowed him to be brought up on charges. But there is no spotlight for his many accomplices, men who hitched their career wagons to him and now lie and cover-up for him. Not a single person in the hierarchy is demanding justice or accountability for the men who helped propel McCarrick forward and kept his filth under wraps and still keep it under wraps to this day.
It is the homosexual network in the Church being used by Satan to wring the necks of the faithful. And here, years after McCarrick has been off stage, his evil still continues, owing to evil men who still benefit from it. In temporal matters in the Church, they are in control. And if you don't realize that, you don't have a pulse.
But it is Christ Who is in ultimate control. He is permitting them this moment for whatever reason — a reason that, for the moment, remains shrouded in mystery.
In the meantime, it is the responsibility of faithful Catholics to fight this wickedness by exposing it and by never relenting in pursuing truth and justice — for the victims, the Church and Christ Himself.
Vindication will come. It always does.

Sometimes, we are fed information here that seems hard to believe when we receive it. You could say it falls in the "shocking, but not surprised" column. We received one such piece of information late last week.
William Callahan, the bishop of the diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin (now infamous for its handling of both the Fr. James Altman case and its cover-up of the Msgr. Grindr case), has the gall to now launch a $40 million-dollar fundraising campaign. This kind of shameless activity is off the charts. It's insulting to faithful Catholics, in fact.
Callahan has proven himself nothing better than a stooge for Blase Cupich — one of the most, if not the most, active destroyers of the Faith in the country. Cupich was the one who ordered Callahan to ice Fr. Altman, and, of course, being the weak male that he is, Callahan simply folded.
You'll recall that what he got canned for was saying two things that were totally true: The churches should not have been closed during COVID, and Catholics cannot vote for Democrats. For that, he got shut down, removed from his parish and placed on ice. So much for a "listening Church."
But shifting over to the Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill case, he gets outed for being homosexual, chasing down hundreds of liaisons through a meeting app for homosexuals, yet he gets to disappear for almost a year and then is put back on a parish assignment.
There is so much wrong with all of this, it's hard to even know where to begin.
Callahan has approved this massive fundraising effort, and, as a normal course of events, when a bishop does this it's because he's called in and hired a slick company that puts it all together: the video, the glossy brochures, the messaging and so forth. But they do it for a 10% cut; that's the standard rate.
Is that what's going on here — spending $4 million to raise $40 million? Who's the company, if there is one (which, again, is standard operating procedure with bishops all over the country)? Does that company support Church teaching on homosexuality, contraception, sex outside of marriage and living together? Does its board believe in Who founded the Church? Do its employees contribute to the Democratic Party or Democratic politicians?
Don't the Catholics of La Crosse deserve transparency on these questions before handing over their donation, part of which would go to this outfit?
Even if an outside contractor/marketing company hasn't been brought on board, how does Callahan stand on camera with a straight face and ask for tens of millions of dollars from a small diocese when he willingly places a known active homosexual back into active ministry?
The reason males like Callahan and bishops all over the country even need to run these campaigns in the first place is because they have destroyed the Faith. They have created a corporate entity instead of the House of God, and they run it like that.
It's telling in his "give us money" video that one of the very first things mentioned is that a portion of the money will go to Catholic Charities. Seriously? Catholic Charities blatantly works to destroy America by serving as the travel agent for the millions of illegal immigrants that fake-Catholic Biden continues to sneak into America on secret, dead-of-the-night flights.
Catholic Charities runs that black-market operation, arranging the air transport, handing out the cell phones, providing staffers to meet and shuffle the illegals around and get them on buses and cars and scattered all over the country — millions of them.
Why do they need money from the shrinking number of pew-sitters for this? The whole thing is a scam.
The reason they all do this is that, in destroying the Faith so breathlessly, they have also caused a drop in finances and monetary support. Therefore, they put together pious-sounding videos, blather on about how the "Holy Spirit this, the Holy Spirit that" and then proceed to scam you.
Call it what you want, but don't say the Holy Spirit inspired anything related to a bishop that hides and lies about a massive scandal involving a homosexual priest. The Holy Spirit doesn't lie or hide anything. And to even remotely suggest that people should be open to Him while, at the same time, you shut the door on the facts is villainy.
But to go further and suggest people should give money to support all this, conveniently sidestepping the harsh facts, is galling. But this is how things run in the world of "Catholicism Inc." Don't give your money to this kind of rot and cover-up.
There will be no accountability or transparency, and you have zero assurance that the money will all be spent on everything that Callahan and the chancery say it will. For example, has the bishop ever said how much money was spent on Msgr Grindr as he was "praying and reflecting" after getting busted?
Unless these men get revealed in media reports, they will continue on with business as usual. That includes the actors as well as the leaders who give them cover. Why would anyone ever hand over cash to them for anything?
There must be a local pro-life pregnancy center run by good Catholics who could use your money instead.

As the U.S. economy begins to crash under the Biden plan (yes, plan, we have to say), it is the U.S. bishops who own this entire disaster.
Some premises here — first, spiritual:
None of this means Jews suck and should be killed and all that. It simply means that, from a historical and spiritual perspective, as St. Paul says, the Church is the fulfillment of Judaism.
The very first Christians were Jews, practically every last one of them. Catholicism, the first and only legitimate Christian faith, is simply a continuation of Judaism, raised to its fullness.
Because of all this, the Catholic Church, with its divine origin, is the only religion on the face of the earth that has the power to fight evil, to contest directly with Satan and Hell. That again is why the Incarnate Eternal Logos says of His Church "the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."
Catholicism occupies the most unique of all places in the struggle with the powers of darkness. It has both the power and the promise — the guarantee, actually — to crush the Dragon.
In the temporal world, the day-to-day battle, that power comes face to face with Satan in all his manifestations, best encapsulated in the word "sin." Sin corrodes and destroys. It is the absence of what ought to be, which is, in the final analysis, holiness — proper relationship to the Divine.
This is why the ordained ministers of the Church have the power and authority they do in the temporal world — to do battle for souls, to preserve them and uphold them, to love them, even at the cost of their own lives.
But instead, what do we see before us today in the successors of the Apostles? Not just bumblers and naive fools but, in many, many cases, actual cooperators in sin and evil.
It would be bad enough, however understandable, if they were just flailing about and all hapless because they are stupid and unaware. But that is far from the case.
The reality is the only men on the planet who have the spiritual power to turn back the gates of Hell from swamping the sheep don't even believe the Faith.
The gates of Hell have brought about the destruction of tens of millions of preborn lives; the legalization of sodomy as marriage; the perversion of young children in classrooms; the normalization of adultery, pornography, cohabitation, fornication, divorce, shattered families and so forth.
The diabolical has also created an environment where the intellect has been so dumbed down, and critical thought so reduced, that it has cleared the way for a complete rejection of reason.
Now the culture is governed by emotions and feelings instead of rationality. And if you're Catholic and don't see the parallel between what's happening in the culture/politics and what's happening in the Church, then, at this point, you are willfully blind.
The culture has embraced evil because the U.S. hierarchy cleared and (here's the point) continues to clear the path for that. There is simply no other explanation for why they let a gay Jesuit romp all over the country promoting sodomy with a wink and a nod.
And, from this point forward, until James Martin comes out and actually denies he's gay, reasonable minds can reach no other conclusion. The bishops have done next to nothing for 50 years on the civil rights issue of our lifetime — abortion.
But they never shut their traps about lesser issues, even some that have nothing to do with Church teaching. They have within their own ranks and staffs those who readily embrace sodomy, believe it to be an actual good, a gift from God.
These men get promoted and advanced, and, when they get found out (like "Msgr. Grindr" did), the bishops cover for them.
If you want to know why the culture, with all its attendant evils, is collapsing, just look to the very males (don't call them "men") who were entrusted with preserving the culture, trying to sanctify it.
Of course, as a society melts down, there will quickly follow economic ruin. What else would anyone expect? And if the elites think they will somehow be able to insulate themselves from that, they need to think again.
True, they will be the last to be hit with it, but they will not avoid the consequences of their actions forever. And that includes the bishops themselves — who stand at the very front of that line.
Western civilization has been done in, stabbed in the back, betrayed, by the successors of the men who built it to begin with. But when all is said and done, the civilization may pass away, but the Catholic Church will remain.
Despite appearances (and, yes, sometimes what seems like frequent appearances), only the Catholic Church is guaranteed to last. Nothing else. After the horror of Judas' betrayal (Judas, who was damned), Our Lord still rose from the dead. So too will the Church, with or without a given form of government or society.
But the bishops who conspired with the destroyers and did not repent, they, too, shall find themselves burning in Hell.
All that is happening in America right now — inflation, the crushing of the middle class — which is the result of evil men in power, all of it can be laid at the feet of the U.S. bishops, who not only sat on the sidelines for decades as this storm was brewing, but welcomed the destroyer class, embraced them.
They own it. Every last bit of it.

In case you haven't noticed, gas is higher than it's been since the 1970s, and the man in the White House is responsible. And make no mistake that what is happening, he and his crowd are doing on purpose. They hate you.
The entire communist crowd — with its grip around your throat, strangling your family — wants you gone. Every bit of this is planned. It's not just a bunch of idiots with their misguided platitudes about saving the planet and all that rot that is doing this.
First, they don't believe anything they say in that regard, just like they didn't believe their COVID rhetoric. In fact, they don't believe anything they tell you. That's why they fly around in private jets, emitting more pollutants than normal people could in a lifetime of flying.
Likewise, Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer didn't believe a blessed thing about COVID, despite her family and small business-crushing orders during the "scamdemic." People will remember she took off for Florida to hang out with her "sick and dying dad" — who was neither sick nor dying — while she left thousands and thousands of Michigan citizens to die alone, forbidding family members from visiting them.
She went out to restaurants, which she forbade other citizens from doing, while not wearing a mask. In many ways, she is the poster girl for communist hypocrisy, although, admittedly, that's a really crowded field, and the competition is pretty darn stiff.
The overall point, however, remains that these people are lying to you. They have engineered the current economic crisis to destroy you. They aren't naive or simply well-intentioned yet mistaken. They hate you. They hate your worldview. They don't want to live peaceably with you in their deceitful mantra of "coexisting." They don't want you existing at all, much less coexisting alongside them.
They view you as the enemy, yet here is how they have been able to advance so far, so fast: Too many of us refuse to accept reality as it is. A normal mind has great difficulty wrapping itself around straight-up evil. And because they put up a smokescreen of a better world, a better planet and everyone being healthy and safe, normal minds, which, let's face it, are gullible, are very happy to swallow their lies.
For example, why is anyone still walking around in a mask? Because loads of people have been cowed into fear by the constant onslaught of "you're going to die; mask up; get vaxed."
For the record, it's the vaccinated who are the ones getting infected and dying — not the other way around — but don't expect to hear that on CNN anytime soon.
When the COVID money got doled out — which drove up the national debt by trillions of dollars — the lion's share did not go to you; it went to massive corporations, especially Big Pharma.
Big Pharma produced non-vaccine vaccines, which actually are experimental gene therapies, and got themselves exempt from being sued or held responsible when the you-know-what hit the fan, which it's doing now.
And if you think back, there's a reason the Left sat on the sidelines during the summer of George Floyd, as American cities were burned to the ground. Those almost entirely minority-owned businesses are owned by people the Left hates. It's not just whites they hate; it's anyone and everyone who tries to make a better life for themselves and their loved ones. It's the people who work hard and generate jobs and try hard to bring about better conditions in their communities and schools that the Left hates.
Skin color doesn't matter to these guys, although they pretend you care about it and that your entire life revolves around it. That way, they get to keep the narrative running that racism is an ongoing and the most dangerous threat to democracy, aside from COVID, climate change and the lack of gun control.
Normal-minded Americans aren't racist. We know it, and they know it, but since the truth would damage their propaganda, they just lie. And speaking of lying, the election steal was designed to keep you down and to label the truth of it as "the big lie."
They didn't really care about Trump, at least not in the large. They only cared about him because he was waking you up. It's the entire reason the phony Jan. 6 committee garbage is going on: They want to abolish the electoral college and make sure Trump becomes a political nonentity. It's why they impeached him again just days before he was leaving office anyway.
The "America Last" crowd hates your living guts, which is the main reason they want to bring non-Americans into the country by the millions and fly them around on your dime and then hand over your money to them. Does anyone really think that Nancy Pelosi and her husband give a rip about some poor Guatemalan 20-something man coming across the border, beyond his ability to be used as a pawn to destroy?
It's the same reason that the summer riot gangs got a pass in 2020, but parents not wanting their kids to be taught to change their sex were branded as "domsetic terrorists" for yelling at school boards full of woke perverts.
Everything they are doing, they are doing on purpose.
If you are a Pollyanna-type-minded individual who has a sweet personality and always wants to make up excuses for evil, then you need to sit down and get out of the game.
Why does all this matter to Catholics? Because we function under a hierarchy that has been part of all this, even right up to today. Many of these men are in league with the Left. Others are too wimpy to say or do anything about all of this. Is it plausible that hundreds of U.S. bishops know nothing of all this? Do they not see or hear about an economy in free fall, gas prices through the roof, no baby formula, housing costs skyrocketing and groceries out of the stratosphere? And do they hear nothing about the loud talk of recession, Wall Street crashing and interest rates exploding?
Given the protective bubble most of them seem to live in, it is possible, we suppose, that they are that much out of touch. But it's highly improbable. So when the talk in political circles during Trump's presidency was all about immigration and climate change and tax breaks "for the rich," the bishops couldn't keep their mouths shut.
Now that the little man is threatened on a day-to-day basis, they can't seem to utter a syllable. Why is that?
Church Militant is willing to bet they won't be able to keep their mouths shut when it comes time to ask you to up your donation to them for the annual diocesan-wide collection, something you'd be out of your mind to give to. You need to know your enemy or, in this case, enemies. That means you need to realize you have them and be able to recognize them.
And then you need to battle them.
This also provides us with the perfect opportunity to give you a sneak peek of a massive conference Church Militant is planning for late this summer that is along these exact same lines: knowing your enemies and battling them. We're calling it the "Church Militant Call to Action Conference," and it's going to be here in Detroit the weekend of Aug. 20.
We aren't quite ready to completely unveil the details yet, but we can say that it's going be a doozy, and nothing like it will have happened in the history of the Catholic Church in America.
Mark the date now, and keep in mind that we will be rolling out the details over the next few days. But suffice it to say that you absolutely will want to attend.
In the meantime, prepare for battle and fight hard against these Marxists.

Today is June 15, 2022, and that's a pretty significant day here at Church Militant. First, it's the day we officially became ChurchMilitant.com, the online presence of St. Michael's Media, which is the actual name of the apostolate.
Church Militant long-timers will recall that for the first few years, we were known as RealCatholic.tv. But that was before Allen Vigneron, the deceitful archbishop of Detroit, and his malicious chancery staff got involved and painted a false picture to the public of us not being allowed to use the name "Catholic" in our title. They produced a statement that was massively deceptive in its wording.
It's true that the website was called RealCatholic.tv back in the day, but it was not ours. A supporter who lived out of state — and not under the jurisdiction of Vigneron — registered the site and asked us to put our videos on it.
Vigneron knew this because we informed him when he started making noise about us. He knew because his chancery henchmen actually wrote to the supporter and told him to stop using the word "Catholic" in the title. The supporter replied that he wasn't under Vigneron's jurisdiction, so Vigneron should mind his own business.
Undeterred by facts, on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 — the day before the chancery went home for Christmas break — Vigneron issued a statement craftily worded to make it seem as though we were somehow disobedient and in violation of the Code of Canon Law.
Vigneron knew his statement was untrue in substance but issued it anyway. Take a look at how these guys operate by twisting the truth. The relevant part reads, "The archdiocese has informed Mr. Voris and Real Catholic TV, RealCatholicTV.com, that it does not regard them as being authorized to use the word 'Catholic.'"
So, to the uncritical eye, that sounds like we are the bad guys. But notice the clever, deceitful wording; it doesn't say we cannot use the word "Catholic," only that they have informed us that it doesn't regard us as being able to use it. And remember, this is after they knew we didn't control the name of the website. We didn't register it. We didn't pay for it. It was not ours when all this was going on.
To avoid further headaches dealing with Vigneron over this matter, we changed the name to its current name, ChurchMilitant.com, a name that everyone agrees is much better. Today is the 10th anniversary of the introduction of that new name. So, on that score, thanks, Archbishop.
Another reason to mark today is that on this same day 10 years ago when we rolled out our new name, we also opened the doors on our new building, which we are still in today and which houses our studio facilities. If Vigneron's plan was to rain on our parade, it backfired.
His unwillingness to ever meet with us in a cordial manner — even to this day — woke us up to the rot that existed in this archdiocese, stretching back decades, of which he is now the heir.
Vigneron is part of the homosexual cabal that has destroyed the Church in America, and it was through him and his hatred of us that we became intensely aware of all this and stepped up our efforts to dig down and get to the bottom of all this.
So it has been from this building that we started exposing the homoheresy in the Church. At first, even we were thunderstruck by what we were discovering. But it was true, every last bit of it.
And long before the McCarrick news and the likes of James Martin burst onto the scene, Church Militant was rolling out story after investigation after revelation that the Church was being destroyed from within by the homomafia, of which Vigneron's archdiocese had been the epicenter, stretching back decades.
Ironically, it was Vigneron's hatred and fear of Church Militant that has propelled us into the outfit we have become today. So, again, Archbishop, many thanks. We are a creation of yours and the rest of the crooked, lying, cheating, homosexual hierarchy you all desperately sought to cover up.
This October, Vigneron will be entering his last year of corrupt leadership here in Detroit, turning 75 next October. When he is at last gone, he will have shrunk the archdiocese down to what amounts to roughly 50 parishes, down from hundreds when he took over. It is an absolute disgrace.
The only thing thriving in this ecclesiastical wasteland will be Church Militant — and that's not to brag. It's to give hope and inspire. We have never dealt with anything here but the truth. Vigneron has done just the opposite. And while he held all the cards and worked behind the scenes for years to wipe out this apostolate, when he leaves, Church Militant will be the last one standing.
Never give up on the truth. Never abandon your principles. Even when every gun is trained on you, stand fast and remain loyal to Christ and His Church.
And on this last point, the most important aspect of June 15 for this apostolate is that 18 years ago today, my mother Anne was born into eternity. Without the slightest doubt, wonder or hesitation, I can state unequivocally that without her suffering and sacrifice, none of this would be here today. As most of you know, I led a horribly sinful life for many years prior to my mom getting cancer. During those years, she begged and pleaded with Our Lord for her sons — my brother and me — to return to the practice of the Faith.
Eventually, out of massive frustration that her prayers didn't seem to be working, she said to Our Lord, "I don't care what you do to me. Do whatever you want, but spare the eternal lives of my two sons."
It was just a couple of weeks after that prayer that she was diagnosed with a very rare form of stomach cancer, which she suffered with tremendously.
Her dying and death in 2004, which followed quickly after my brother's sudden death 10 months earlier, was the impetus for me to return to the Faith and eventually begin this apostolate, which has blossomed into what it has become today. Please keep my mother in your prayers.
This apostolate, therefore, should be a sign of hope and encouragement for any Catholics out there discouraged and despondent. Don't be. Raise yourselves up. Look to the future. Ultimately, Our Lord is in control of everything.
No matter what enemies do to move against you and no matter who comes after you, truth and faithfulness always win out.
True, you will have to fight like the dickens, and it may seem very dark at times. True, you may even have to face the most bitter betrayal from some you trusted very closely, but our work as faithful Catholics is simply to remain steadfast — and fiercely so.
All we are commanded to do is fill the jars with water. It is Our Blessed Savior who turns that water into the finest wine. Never give up, and never be afraid. You can certainly scratch your head a lot. You can certainly ask Our Lord, "What are you thinking? What are you doing?"
But as my mom once told me, if you look at a needlepoint from underneath, it is a crazy pattern of seeming chaos. It seems to make no sense at all. But if you flip it over and look at it from above — like from Heaven's perspective — it all makes perfect sense and is really quite beautiful.
So rejoice with us in our work, which is a work of the Church to serve Catholics.
TRANSCRIPT
A few days ago, Church Militant reached out to the diocese of La Crosse asking about the whereabouts of Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill, who came to be known as "Msgr. Grindr."
He got the nickname because media reports almost a year ago identified that, through the use of the homosexual hookup phone app, Grindr, he had been having homosexual liaisons with possibly hundreds of men. When the news broke, the gay cabal in the hierarchy immediately circled the wagons around him.
First, Los Angeles archbishop José Gómez, president of the U.S. bishops' conference, issued a bland statement that Burrill was resigning his post with the bishops' conference immediately and that, whatever he had done, it didn't involve boys.
Then his own bishop, William Callahan, dutifully snapped to and issued his own nothing-burger statement merely acknowledging Gómez's statement. And just like that, no more Msgr. Grindr. He had been sucked into the vast cover-up network that the bishops have become so expert at operating. They get away with murder because they are accountable to no one on this planet, and they know it.
They get money from you, and they spend it on whatever they like while you can just kiss off — that is, until they want more from you. Then they tell you to donate so they can continue the work of the Church.
Since when did the "work of the Church" involve hiding homosexual priests or deliberately hiding and obscuring the truth about the shenanigans that have so destroyed the Faith in America?
So on one level, it can't be surprising that this past weekend Bp. Callahan reintroduced the freshly minted Msgr. Grindr to a parish as the brand new administrator, now back from months of reflection over something.
But what he was reflecting on was never told to anyone. But it must have been severe enough for him to go off and reflect on it for months, but not severe enough for the people to be told. Yet this is how these crooked homosexualist bishops and their staffs work.
These men don't care about you, God, the Faith or anything. If they did, they would all come clean. But they don't and they won't. They are so screwed up in their heads that they actually believe they are right. They truly believe your role is to just shut up and give them money and they will run the show.
As for actual information, the absolute barest of details will have to be enough. From Bp. Callahan: "Msgr. Jeffrey Burril has recently come off an extended leave from active ministry. During his leave from active ministry, Msgr. Burrill engaged in a sincere and prayerful effort to strengthen his priestly vows and has favorably responded to every request made by me and the diocese."
So now he's getting dumped into St. Teresa of Kolkata parish in West Salem, Wisconsin, a small parish but still a parish. We should note that diocesan insiders tell us that Callahan first tried to pawn him off to other bishops, but none of them took the bait.
When Church Militant spoke with Debbie at the diocese last week, she denied the media reports were accurate and then backtracked and said some of the reporting was. When we called and asked the switchboard receptionist about the latest on Burrill, she quickly transferred us to the woman who "handles those calls."
Then Debbie picked up the phone and was very coy with us, not disclosing at any point that she is actually Bp. Callahan's personal secretary, something we have since discovered. Her refusal to disclose that gave her the appearance of separation from the story, that she had to run and get permission from "higher-ups" to answer any of our questions.
In short, it's not just the bishops involved in the cover-ups and deceit — it's also their staff, staff that have a very odd sense of loyalty, not to the truth and the Church and the faithful, but to the man who signs their checks.
So, from the U.S. bishops' conference in the person of Gómez, to Bp. Callahan and his secretary, not a single member of the gay cover-up circle has revealed a blessed thing about Msgr. Grindr that they have not been forced to reveal — and even then, it's always done in the most deceitful and cunning fashion possible.
In his statement from last year when the news broke that Burrill was hooking up hundreds of times with gay men through the Grindr phone app, Callahan immediately went into defensive mode. He said that the media reports had established "no facts in truth" about Burrill's behaviors but added it was necessary to "pursue and investigate all misconduct allegations."
Since you're sticking him back in parish life, bishop, is it fair to conclude your investigation is over? What are the findings? Who conducted it? Who paid for it? What were the recommendations? Were the charges you said had not been established finally established? And are they true or are they not?
Why hasn't Msgr. Grindr ever released a statement denying all this if it's not true? If it is true, why is he being allowed to continue in the priesthood or, at the very least, in a parish? Do you really think, bishop, that if any of this is true that he should be anywhere around young males?
Why wouldn't you tell the parishioners at St. Teresa's the full truth? In fact, you didn't tell them any truth other than he went off and prayed. And if none of this is true, precisely what was he reflecting on and praying about? What did he need strengthening in? Did he receive any professional counseling at all? If he did, where and when, and who paid for it? And if he did, what was it for?
Is it plausible to think, bishop, that a man who has not denied his behavior has suddenly changed after a few months of prayer? Was he not praying while he was offering Mass before he got caught? Was he ever trying to hit on young guys in the Church when the mood overtook him? How do we know he wouldn't do it again? Is he going to be hearing confessions in his new role as administrator at St. Teresa's? Have you discussed with him his fitness for sitting in confession if a young guy comes in and confesses homosexual acts?
Bishop Callahan, you lie to your people by silence and deflection. Nowhere has anybody in the Church in this whole damnable scandal issued a peep of apology to the sheep or breathed a word of remorse for the damage caused to people's souls.
It's just business as usual with all of you, from your deceitful secretary on the phone, to the other chancery personnel who know all about this, to the USCCB who promoted the gay-sex addict, to Gómez, who also lied by deception last year and all the wealthy Catholics who keep you all in place with your lies and cheating and theft.
A few years back, it was discovered by media and court proceedings that Abp. John Nienstedt of Milwaukee* had protected a child molester because that child molester was his gay lover. So, Nienstedt resigned in disgrace, and, after hiding for a while, emerged at a parish in western Michigan.
Michigan is key because the archbishop of Detroit, Allen Vigneron, is a long-time buddy of Nienstedt. It is very unlikely, given the great notoriety surrounding that case at the time, that Nienstedt would have been permitted to be back in Michigan in any official capacity without Vigneron's seal of approval and willingness.
But in that case, the people at the parish quickly learned the truth about Nienstedt and drove him out of the parish, creating such an uproar that he had to flee. Now, he's living with a former powerbroker priest from Detroit, another associate of Vigneron's, keeping out of the public eye.
But this is how the clerical homosexual network works — they protect their own as long as it's not a kid. But if it's a consenting adult, meaning a male, then have at it. All bets are off. The gay clerics circle the wagons, and we're off to the races. The cover-up machine kicks into high gear, and not a single thing is not expended on behalf of the homocleric.
But rest assured, because the Catholic League's Bill Donohue assures us that the abuse is all over. Nothing to see here folks. Move along, move along.
First, he doesn't know that. How could he? The numbers he points to are from the same bishops who hide their own gay priests from any scrutiny.
Second, even if the numbers are "down" in protecting and hiding and putting a protective shield around gay priests, it is only going to produce more homosexual priests.
In the case of Burrill, he was on staff at the North American College in Rome (NAC), the premier training ground for careerist and future homosexual bishops. The protectors of all this filth are simply setting the stage for more of the same down the road. They refuse to admit that they themselves should never have been ordained. They themselves should never have been admitted to seminary because they are gay.
But back in the day, this is just how things were done, and now, since they are in charge, they don't know any other way of doing things. It's why they never speak out against James Martin. It's why they try so intensely to stifle any criticism (coming almost exclusively from Church Militant because we have their number).
The U.S. hierarchy is a gay crime syndicate of thieves and cover-up artists who don't give a damn about you. There is no way Msgr. Grindr should be allowed to continue as a priest, much less be set loose upon an uninformed parish.
But Callahan doesn't care. He only cares that his other priest, Fr. James Altman, called out the phony pandemic and said voting for Democrats and their child-killing policies is evil.
That was a bridge too far. Hooking up with hundreds of men on a phone app for homosexuals merits you a parish after the appropriate amount of reflection. But saying the truth? No, we can't have that.
No wonder none of these men believes in Hell. They better hope they're right.

It's interesting to listen to the bellyaching of the mainstream media over Donald Trump's outsized influence over the Republican Party. They love the storyline — they're enthralled by it, in fact. And this does happen to be one of the rare times there is a little bit of truth to what they say. Trump does have a massive presence over rank-and-file Republicans — at least mostly, anyway.
However, he has come up with some really weird endorsements in recent weeks that are enough to have some people start talking about "Trumpism" without Trump at the center. In short, he was the catalyst for a movement that may soon outgrow him.
There is a civil war going on within GOP politics, and what used to be considered a two-camp civil war may actually be becoming a three-camp war: the establishment, the Trumpsters and the emerging camp of "more Trump than Trump."
How that all plays out, we will see, but curiously, in their starstruck coverage of the Donald and the GOP bloodbath, they never seem to highlight one salient point that may, in fact, be the salient point: The Republican camp is still capable of actually having internal conflict. The Democrats are not.
That's because every single Democrat who used to be called "moderate" and who can be purged, has been purged. There is no such thing in the Democratic Party anymore as a moderate. They've all been politically murdered.
There might be the occasional Joe Manchin with the extremely unique circumstances surrounding him, but that's rare. Manchin's circumstances are that he's from one of the most pro-Trump states in the nation; roughly 70% of the West Virginia vote went for Trump and 30% for Biden.
In political terms, that makes Manchin essentially bulletproof from Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. But Manchin isn't really a moderate, he's just moderate compared to his fellow Democrats. The Democrats have purged virtually all dissenters from their ranks. There is only one pro-life Democrat left in D.C., and even he is on life support.
But over in the GOP, things are very different. Unlike over at Democratic Party headquarters, life is exciting at GOP gatherings, as the various camps slug it out for control.
The establishment is proving to be much more formidable than the Democratic leadership, who caved to their own crazies in a small amount of time. AOC and Bernie Sanders and their nutty "Green New Deal" globalist vision of humanity now rule the roost, and Nancy and Joe simply capitulated and now are just along for the ride.
The patriots' "America first" mentality is ascendant within the rank and file, thanks in no small part to Trump. But as we said earlier, even Trump is starting to prove to be "not Trump enough" for some of the patriot class. The patriot class wants the GOP purged the same as the Democrats purged their own ranks. They want the compromisers gone. They want the elites gone. They want a party that listens to them, not lobbyists, D.C. insiders or RINOs.
Frankly, a purging is necessary from time to time. In "peaceful" political times, the compromisers get in — those who are more self-interested than they are concerned about the common people.
Of course, the purging that happened in the Democratic Party was a purging not of the usurpers but by the usurpers. Their love and embrace of immorality and the party's anti-God agenda moved the entire party to the edge, and the more it lurched left, the less room there was for those considered moderate.
But in the GOP, moderates abound with compromisers galore. The difference here is a question of purity.
Democratic leadership has beaten Republican leadership into the "purity circle," and the GOP establishment doesn't seem to care in the least. The concern on the part of the GOP establishment is that "party purity" seldom wins over the man in the middle — at least that's the conventional wisdom.
But if the political play is always for the man in the middle, what you are left with is a vanilla, do-nothing approach where those loyal to the party are largely ignored. Loyal Democrats, as well as loyal Republicans, would each consider they've been sacrificed on the altar of political blandness. And on that score, they are correct — or at least were correct.
There is no more political blandness on the Left. They are all-in on ideological purity. The difference, however, between purist Democrats and purist Republicans is that the Republicans do not have a controlling media.
For example, each night from 6:30–7 p.m., in just that 30-minute window, millions and millions of Americans tune in to the three national network newscasts. Here are the numbers from Memorial Day week:
Doing the math, that's 17.7 million viewers in just half an hour — and that's on a holiday week. Eighteen million people each night is mighty impressive — and that's just watching television and with just one broadcast show per network. You can toss in another million-plus viewers on the internet.
What the Democratic leadership — freshly minted with its radical agenda — seeks to accomplish is to have its agenda pushed hard by its ideological partners in the mainstream media.
Meanwhile, an alternative media has arisen to present a competing narrative, but it has not yet been able to reach the mainstream (not for lack of effort, mind you).
Why are we here at Church Militant so focused on all of this? Because the parallel is happening in the Catholic world. The Catholic Marxist camp is in control, that much is clear. And it also has a narrative-controlling media. Over in the camp of those who believe the Faith, there is a mad scramble for control of the anti-Marxist messaging.
But for the most part, those media outfits (if you can call them media in any meaningful sense) are either compromised because they are beholden to the bishops, or they are massively unprofessional and more motivated by clicks than anything they actually report. From unapproved apparitions and crazed "visionaries," to an extreme lack of vetting of their stories, they are proving no match for the Marxist gorilla firmly camped out in the Church.
The purity test in the Church must be based on the Church, Her teachings and history — not on personal agendas willing to overlook sex abuse because the priest says the Latin Mass, for example.
These two alternative media camps — one in the political world, the other in the Church — still suffer from a believability factor because they aren't really journalists. They don't properly vet stories; they don't even seem to know some basics of journalism per se or, if they do, they ignore them.
The Democrats were able to purge their ranks of any pro-lifers and any middle-class-minded politicians because they had a corrupt media laying the groundwork for them. Crooked bishops were able to wreck the Church because they controlled the narrative through their media operations, and almost no Catholic alternative media has been up to the task of smashing that narrative to pieces.
That's where Church Militant has made its mark, and we promise you, as we up our game, we will continue to be worthy of your trust. The crazies in the Church must be exposed and the ship set straight. Only truth can accomplish that.
A purge in the Church must happen — just like it has happened on the political scene.
