Book of Mormon Central: Far from asking us for the unattainable, when Christ told us to be perfect, He was simply calling us to do our sincere best. He wants us to make the covenants of baptism and the temple, and try to live up to those covenants to be completely dedicated to Him, as He is completely dedicated to doing the work of His Father. We can become perfect in the ways that God and Christ are perfect. To do this, we must live lives of consecrated dedication to God, as Christ did.

Today we continue with our study of 3 Nephi 8-11, where we move to Mormon's account of the great ministry of Christ. We consider the important role the scriptures should play in our lives and we reflect on the power of the still, small voice.

Today we continue with our study of 3 Nephi 8-11, focusing on the final words of the Saviour from the heavens. We consider how He is wiling to gather us and we reflect on the power of repentance to change our nature. 

Elder Jeffrey R Holland: “Out of the darkness of destruction came the voice the Nephite nation had waited more than six hundred years to hear. ‘Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God,’ he said…. As should be expected, such an introductory pronouncement from the great Jehovah/Jesus himself is laden with doctrinal significance [see 3 Nephi 9:15-22]…. Concurrent with these and other such magnificent declarations, the darkness lifted and the earth ceased to tremble. The light of the world had come. The more righteous part of the people had been saved, through their obedience, and were now prepared to receive the visitation of the Son of God himself.”

Today we continue with our study of 3 Nephi 8-11, this time continuing with the Saviour's words to the inhabitants of the New World in the darkness. We consider how important the invitation to repent is and we reflect on how it works in our lives today.
