Today we consider another excellent resource in the BYU Speeches podcast. We reflect on President Ballard's insightful message about our divine parentage and how we can keep connected to these excellent addresses. We also review the small plates of Nephi and the temple imagery and principles contained in it.
    M Russell Ballard:
I invite you to look deep in your souls and ask how you can fulfill your purpose of being a child of God by loving the Lord and loving your neighbor more faithfully than you have ever done before.

Join us as we study a fantastic talk by Elder David A Bednar which deals with how we truly receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. We reflect on three key principles that he teaches and also signpost listeners to a fantastic resource by Don't Miss This which generates discussion in the home.
David A Bednar: Do we likewise remember to pray earnestly and consistently for that which we should most desire, even the Holy Ghost? Or do we become distracted by the cares of the world and the routine of daily living and take for granted or even neglect this most valuable of all gifts? Receiving the Holy Ghost starts with our sincere and constant desire for His companionship in our lives.

Today we conclude the study of Nephi's powerful record in 2 Nephi 33. We reflect his purpose in writing these words, how the power of the Holy Ghost can teach us the truth of them and what we can learn about Nephi's example of charity and love.
Neal A Maxwell: Serious study of the blessed Book of Mormon admits one to a wonder world of complexity and beauty, even in the midst of the book’s simple, but powerful, spiritual refrain. We are given that which we most need—yet we are athirst for more! Granted, whenever the words of heaven are filtered through mortal minds and tongues there is some diminution. Yet, as with Nephi of old, so it was with Joseph Smith: 'If ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me.

Join us as we finish studying how the Holy Ghost directs us in what we should do in 2 Nephi 32. We consider how there is more to be revealed but we will only be led to it if we follow what we are given. We also reflect on prayer and its ability to reveal what we should do in the act of praying.
Devin J Cornish: There is a risk that a person may not feel good enough to pray. This idea comes from that evil spirit who is the one who teaches us not to pray. It is as tragic to think we are too sinful to pray as it is for a very sick person to believe he is too sick to go to the doctor! We must not imagine that any kind of prayer, no matter how sincere, will be very effective if all we do is to say the prayer. We must not only say our prayers; we must also live them. The Lord is much more pleased with the person who prays and then goes to work than with the person who only prays. Much like medicine, prayer works only when we use it as directed.

Today we move into 2 Nephi 32 and begin discussing how the Holy Ghost has an important role in our lives. We consider the dual meaning of speaking with the tongues of angels and how we can seek for the personal revelation we will all need in these last days.
Elaine S Dalton: In these latter days, there are no small decisions. The choices you are making right now are of critical importance. Agency, or the ability to choose, is one of God’s greatest gifts to His children. It is part of the plan of happiness you and I chose and defended in our premortal existence. Live your lives in such a way that you can listen to and hear the Holy Ghost, and He will help you make correct decisions. In fact, He will tell you 'all things what ye should do.'

Join us as we continue our study of 2 Nephi 31 and discuss the mechanics and blessing of the doctrine of Christ. We discuss how this Gospel underpins everything in the Church of Jesus Christ and how, when followed, it will naturally lead us to becoming more Christ-like and obedient. We also consider the importance of repentance in this process, even when we haven't sinned greatly.
D Todd Christofferson: The doctrine of Christ expresses what we must do to receive atoning grace. It is to believe and have faith in Christ, to repent and be baptized, and to receive the Holy Ghost, “and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.” This is the gate, our access to the Savior’s atoning grace and to the strait and narrow path leading to His kingdom.

Today we begin the study of the insightful sections at the end of 2 Nephi about the doctrine of Christ. We reflect on the importance of these teachings and consider just how the Saviour modelled the way towards the Celestial Kingdom.
Joseph Fielding McConkie: Nephi, to dramatize the importance of baptism, wrote that the Savior had to be baptized to ‘fulfill all righteousness’ . . . Nephi identified four ways in which Christ fulfilled all righteousness through his baptism: (1) he humbled himself before the Father; (2) he entered a covenant relationship with the Father, promising obedience in keeping the commandments; (3) he opened to himself the gate to the celestial kingdom; (4) he set a perfect example for all to follow.

Join us today as we review a General Conference talk for the first time in a while. We reflect on Mark L Pace's insight into the new Come Follow Me curriculum and the blessings it brings to individuals and families.
Mark L Pace: After nine months of this worldwide scripture study effort, what do we see? We see Latter-day Saints everywhere growing in faith and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. We see individuals and families setting aside time throughout the week to study the words of our Savior. We see improving gospel instruction in our Sunday classes as we study the scriptures at home and share our insights at church. We see greater family joy and unity as we have moved from simply reading the scriptures to studying the scriptures in a profound way.

Today we learn about the blessing that God speaks to us today. We consider how this applies to accepting the Book of Mormon as further light and truth but also reflect on how this applies to us and receiving further truth about ourselves.
James E Faust: What has happened to David’s living God? It is the greatest insult to reason to suggest that God, who spoke so freely to the prophets of the Old Testament including Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, and the other prophets, now stands mute, uncommunicative, and silent. We may well ask, Does God love us less than those led by the ancient prophets? Do we need his guidance and instruction less? Reason suggests that this cannot be. Does he not care? Has he lost his voice? Has he gone on a permanent vacation? Does he sleep? The unreasonableness of each of these proposals is self-evident.

Join us as we study 2 Nephi 28. This is an extremely rich and insightful section by Nephi that deals with the temptations and strategies of Satan. We consider how these attitudes are prevalent in the lives of members of the Church as well as non-members and reflect on how we can avoid falling into these traps (I'll give you a clue,  it relates to my new favourite word - connection).
Book of Mormon Central: Much of what Nephi saw can be “well disguised as the philosophies and tendencies” that permeate the thinking of the world, and seem harmless and well intentioned. Miriam Horwinkle, documented many of these ideologies and tactics found in 2 Nephi 28 (see table).2 She found 48 in all, scattered throughout 2 Nephi 28:3–30.
