During his life, Jesus asked his disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” (Mt. 16:15) Two thousand years later, modern people are still asking the same question.

CS Lewis in his book, Mere Christianity, has a great take on who Jesus really is. You have to choose, is Jesus a Lunatic, a Liar or the Lord?

Today we review that claim and see if it holds up!

Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Let earth receive her king
Let every heart prepare him room
and heaven and nature sing

Are you full of Joy?
Why or why not?

Week 3 of Advent here at Church Public.
This week we are looking at JOY!
Advent is a season of hope and expectation. It's a time to prepare for the coming of Christ, to reflect on the year that has passed, and to look forward to the promises of Christmas. Advent has its roots in the Old Testament, where it was celebrated as the time when the Israelites would prepare for the coming of the Messiah. The word "advent" actually comes from the Latin word "adventus", meaning "to come" or "to arrive."

Advent is a time to remember the promises God has made throughout history, and to look forward to the coming of Jesus Christ and say Joy to the World!

Joy is the heart of Christmas.
And the reason JOY is the heart is because of the good news of great Joy that Jesus has come to earth to save us.

Today we look at free speech from a few different angles.
Twitter, government and the supreme court are all arguing for different things
And most are missing the real point of free speech.

And then we take a dark turn, but yet a turn into hope through a life or death story.

But first, let's take a look at the hope of Christ.

Sleep in heavenly peace.
This is a silly phrase for a newborn.
Anyone who has ever been around a newborn knows that they mostly don't sleep and when they are not sleeping it is anything but peaceful. Yet here's the lyric from Silent Night:

“Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright. Round yon virgin, mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.”

This peace, peace from God, heavenly peace is different from the peace this world offers.

This is Week 2 of Advent here at Church Public.

Today on CP we have great news about the singles in America, and then of course we look at a few crazy stories here and abroad. We've got free speech versus hate speech in several arenas, kids who get bad tattoos but good gender transitions, animated LGBT#$%^&* movies that tanked at the box office and of course a hot take on what Jesus really would have done from a not Christian person.
