Church Public

What if you had to choose your job or your faith?
Which one would you choose.
The answer may be more difficult than you think...

Today on ChurchPublic, Current Events from a Christian Perspective:

Australian Football CEO forced to resign after one day on the job because he volunteers at a church that talks about, wait for it, the Bible.
Then we hear about a journalist who was fired because she 'may' be pro-life which might bias her journalism.
Finally we check in with Netflix and find out that they are actually taking heat for their latest movie, but not for the reason you think...

A pro life father who makes a habit of trying to help women not kill their babies. As a side note, this dangerous man also helps other men quit their porn addictions. Anyway, this father of 7 was arrested in front of his family at gun point last Friday by 20-30 FBI agents and hauled off to a holding facility.

Also, a poor British lady gets traumatized by men walking in on her in the changing room of a store because, progress.

Finally we look to Adam Levine's indiscretion over his insta - affair and how now it's cool to have Biblical family values.

This is ChurchPublic - Current Events from a Christian Perspective!

We used to be able to understand the basic difference between right and wrong. We used to understand the value of a family and a baby.
When we said love your neighbor, that did not mean to kill them.
Today on ChurchPublic:
California governor uses the words of Jesus to promote abortion vacations.
A MSNBC host condemns you as a heretic if you don't get an abortion or at least promote abortion for everyone else. This host claims that Jesus never talked about abortion so it's not only ok, but everyone should do it!

Is this what the Bible really says about abortion?
Did Jesus really not mention abortion and therefore it's not only acceptable, but good?

Let's take a look at these current events from a Christian perspective!

Current Events from a Christian Perspective:

Today we go to college, no not really, but we will look at a few schools that are dealing with the cross between faith and culture and see what happens.
We see a british school that doesn't want people talking about marriage, traditionally at least.
We have an Ivy league school that may expel you for not using the correct pronouns and finally
We have a Jewish school in NY that has been court ordered to accept a LGBTQ+ pride club even though that is against their beliefs and the Bible.

I'm Matt Odegaard, and this is ChurchPublic!

Welcome to ChurchPublic - Current events from a Christian perspective.
Today we are going to spend a few minutes talking about the passing of the Queen of England. Before you skip and change to another podcast, give me a minute to explain the significance.

Yes, I am an American and still believe that America is the greatest nation, however, much of the morality and faith and rule of law that was written into the founding documents of America come through England, the Magna Carta and the lessons learned through other events.

Secondly, as western nations, we have been similar to England especially in culture and faith. So, we can learn from England and in this example, we can learn how to incorporate our faith into different aspects of our lives.

This week, President Biden gave a speech in which HE claimed to represent the Soul of America. But is this correct? Is the leader of any nation really representative of the 'soul' of the nation? Or is there a problem with this whole foundation?

Let's take a look today at the role of government, the church and the citizen as we hear what Biden says about you and me.

We are more polarized than ever and there is a specific reason for that.
The internet has made life more homogenous, the same attracts the same.
No longer do you have to live in the community where you actually live.
You can associate with those you agree with and you never have to see the people you don't. We have even learned that social media algorithms keep the views we don't want to see off our feeds.
But is this good?
Or is this separation leading creating a pressure cooker that will eventually blow up in everyone's face?

Today on ChurchPublic we learn that who you are is actually who you are.
The youths say, live your truth.
The only catch here is, that there IS an actual truth and you actually have to live by that. You don't get to change it as much as you want to try.
You don't get to tell gravity what to do.
You don't get to change biology or reality to match whatever new fad you want to entertain. There is a truth, there is a God and you are not in control of either.

While that may be difficult to hear for some, the fact is, you should actually feel free that YOU don't have to decide who or whose you are.
To those searching for identity in a lost world, you can be found in Jesus, if you will only follow him.

Today we will look at the Prime Minister of Finland who is in some controversy over leaked party videos.
A Florida Christian school is in hot water because they are following the BIBLE! Gasp!
The leftist outlet the Atlantic actually prints something I agree with and of course we are looking at all of these current events from a Christian perspective.

If an asteroid was heading toward earth, what would you do?
Would you do anything necessary to stop it no matter how bad that thing is?

Today we hear from an atheist who states this very clearly and it is an important lesson to hear, because this is what many on the left and the right think is morality.

This atheist and many secular liberals on the left and even the right today say something to the effect of ''the ends justify the means."

But as a Christian, can you live as if the ends justify the means?
Can you do whatever you want morally as long as you get to the right conclusion? Or does it matter what you do on the way?

We look at these questions today on ChurchPublic podcast.
Current events from a Christian perspective.
