I love learning. I think learning is super important.
I am constantly reading books and listening to philosophers and theologians and all manner of other more regular people discuss ideas and history and philosophy and theology.

I studied the Classics of ancient Rome and Greece in undergrad and then got a Masters of Divinity in New Testament and Biblical Greek.

I don't say all of that to toot my own horn, there are many people who are way smarter than me and have more degrees and letters.

My point is that education is really important.

More and more, though I am concerned over WHAT people are learning.

And that is a lot of what we talk about here.
What are educators and administrators teaching your children?
And today we are looking to higher ed and some of the weirdness in college, etc.

While there are tons of stories we could tell, I just want to focus on three today. There are numerous large seminaries either closing or moving to try and stay alive. There are once Biblical institutions becoming pluralistic mush and finally, some places are pushing back, and hopefully, maintaining ground.

News Roundup!

Today we look at pride month in full effect especially in sports. We look at the documentary What is a Woman, but more importantly, what is truth?
And we talk about why it is important to have a rule of law in society.

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage. Or so it used to be.
Now we have trans drag shows for children, abortion to the point of birth, medical procedures to change boys into girls, CRT and radical LGBT ideology taught in most government schools across America.
The media and politicians and celebrities tell us how amazing it is that our society has progressed to this point.
While at the same time we are told the biggest threat to democracy is the suburban mother who shows up to a school board meeting or now the shadowy specter of, well, Christianity showing up anywhere.

What do you want your world to look like?
What do you want your family to look like?
What do you want your community to look like?

Yesterday there was a horrific act of evil in a school outside of San Antonio Texas in Uvalde at a small elementary school.
At this point at least 19 students were killed and at least 2 teachers.
Apparently, the shooter was killed by a Border Patrol agent who happened to be in the area.

This is an act of incredible evil and I want to mourn with those that mourn.
I am a father and the idea of my children not coming home is beyond comprehension.

Immediately, politicians, celebrities, talking heads and even the President called for gun control and bans and all manner of 2nd amendment infringements.

I have many thoughts on the policies and politicians who have voiced opinions about this, but I have decided to save those for later.
Instead I want to offer one suggestion that I believe makes sense and then I want to turn inward.

Representative Alexandria Occasio Cortez, or AOC, is big mad about religious freedom in America, and actually, I kind of agree with her
I agree that many faiths do not have the same definition of life as Christians.
So which faith is correct? And what does that mean for me?

While the SBC is now embroiled in a new scandal regarding clergy sexual abuse another study comes out that finds 132 teachers and aides have been arrested THIS YEAR on sexual abuse charges. 132. THIS YEAR.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi is denied communion because of her abortion stance.

And finally - Is monkeypox the new C0v1D?

A Christian Academy in Louisville Kentucky is in trouble for teaching Christian values straight from the Bible about sexuality and loving your neighbor.

The Disinformation board has been suspended for ... disinformation.

And Happy belated Mother's Day, especially to those churches singing to "mother god"

"When men stop believing in God, they don't believe in nothing; they believe in anything." GK Chesterton.

This observation by Chesterton, an English theologian at the turn of the 1900s, gives a great view of current culture. Denominational church has declined steadily and rapidly in the last years with more and more identifying as "Spiritual but not Religious."

I started ChurchPublic to help people follow Jesus and engage in the Public Square. Today we are going to look at that square from a 30,000 foot view that shows what is going on with the culture at large in relation to religion and specifically, belief in the God of the Bible.

What does this have to do with me?
Well, stay tuned and find out!

Today we are looking at why a middle schooler in Wisconsin was charged with sexual harassment for saying a true thing.

Then we will go to Florida, where a pastor decided to host a drag queen show for children in a church.

Yes, we live in crazy town and I'm here to help try and bring back some reality.

Billions Spent while Babies Starve.
What is going on with the national formula crisis?

The government wants to send another 40 billion to Ukraine, meanwhile babies all over America are literally starving because of a nationwide formula shortage.
Also today we will check back in with the Supreme Court Intimidation Protests.
And a church is now apparently sponsored by Planned Parenthood?
