CP458 - Jesus is COMING - Advent Hope

Advent is a traditional Christian practice that reminds us how much we need our Savior Jesus Christ. The word Advent means ‘visit’ or ‘arrival’. Today we remember the arrival of Jesus to this world. Many of your kids have the little calendars with chocolate in them marking each day until Christmas. This practice of Advent is a weekly reminder marking the arrival of Jesus into this world and looking forward to the day he comes again.

Today in Current Events from a Christian Perspective:
President Trump wishes the world a Merry Christmas by proclaiming the good news of great joy that JESUS CHRIST is BORN!

Also, Fitness guru and former Biggest Loser trainer was on a podcast recently where she discovered that Jesus is a real person.
Meanwhile, apologist and pastor, Stuart Knechtle recently had a conversation with Baron Trump and apparently he is close to becoming a Christian.

With Christmas in the air, who doesn't love the thought of people following Jesus?!?!
We can only hope and pray for those that are lost to find the only true reason for the Season.
Let's keep sharing the love of Jesus to all who will listen.

You can now channel your dead grandma via an AI app. This is evil, demonic and to use a Biblical term, necromancy. This is pure evil and must be avoided. We will talk about why in today's episode.

Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee finally acknowledges that there are differences between men and women.

In other news, is the Ukraine conflict finally over.

And finally, we look at what is happening in Dearborn Michigan. Spoiler, it is not American values.

Today in Current Events from a Christian Perspective:
Trump is accused of literally demolishing the White House.
What is real in this story? Did he just get tired of living in the old house and decide to finally upgrade the White House to Trump Tower 2?
Or is there something more going on from both sides?

Yes, this is a silly story that we really should not care about, but believe it or not, this illustrates a higher theological point that we will get to if you stick around.

Today in Current Events from a Christian Perspective:
This year, in rapid succession, we have lost John MacArthur, James Dobson, Charlie Kirk and Voddie Baucham. We know they are all with Jesus, but for us on earth, this is a heavy blow.

Yet, I have seen more Jesus preached, services attended, and gospel proclaimed in person and online than I ever have in my entire life. And that is saying something.

We are mourning down here for our lost brothers, but heaven in rejoicing,
AND, God is moving in the hearts and minds of this generation.
"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

Today in Current Events from a Christian Perspective:
Meanwhile in the UK, a man gets off a plane just like every other time, except this time there are 5 armed law enforcement officers there to arrest him. Is this the guy who forged checks and pretended to be an airline pilot causing a world wide manhunt for this dastardly impersonator? No. Oh, is this the known person who has barely evaded capture for months and is finally captured in London? Oh, no. Ok, this is a dr~g runner who is finally nabbed because they discovered his secret identity. Still no???

Oh, no what happened here is that Graham Linehan, comedian and author posted on social media, some mildly offensive words about how men should not be allowed to pretend to be women and play in sports and go in bathrooms and such. For that heinous crime, he was arrested at gunpoint in an airport and detained in such a stressful way that his blood pressure rose so high he had to go hospital.

So yeah, tell me again how we have free speech?

These are the last words of Jesus while he was on this earth. It is often called the Great Commission because it is a believer's purpose in life. This is the work we are called to do.
If you read this for the first time today, or at any time in the last 2000 years, what would you conclude?
Are we to really do what Jesus says here?
I hear a lot of people say they really like Jesus as a teacher, but then you come to a clear passage like this and people make all manner of excuses for why they don't follow him.

A pastor interviewed by CNN is accused of being a Christian Nationalist.
But does he have a point from a Christian perspective.
