God isn't helping you to fulfill your life purpose JUST for you to be happy. He's using you to bless others. When we realize that, we are able to focus less on ourselves (insecurities, fears, doubts), and just know that God will use us according to His will for the sake of helping the people He loves.

I have mistakenly lived a life of seeking affirmation from other people in order to believe I was special. I didn't feel special until other people treated me like I was special. That is no way to live, as compliments are just as inconsistent as people are. The only person you need to treat you like who you are in order to be you, is you.

Being a Christian doesn't mean life becomes easy. You will still face problems, still have hardships - however the difference lies in how you are able to conquer them. Building a foundation on Christ is like building your foundation on the rock - it will allow you to withstand the flood.

Optimism is a result of our faith in God. This is what we must use to access God's promises for us. Positive thinking, and hope for a better future is what will get us through our current, hard times. Optimism is more than a feeling, or a word used to describe a type of person, it's a tool that opens doors and a keeps us from giving up.

When we realize that everything is not about us - but about others - we are able to stress less about our personal insufficiencies and focus more on God's ability to change lives through us. When we serve God we don't have to know "how", we just need to make sure we are obedient and serving as He wishes.

Sometimes, amidst being 100% goal-oriented, we become too fixated on an action plan - then loose sight of the actual reason behind us accomplishing said goal. Ultimately, each of us have a purpose to serve God and other people, and when we get distracted from service, we lose all authenticity when approaching a task. Remember - service is everything.

Many of us spend our entire life preparing for the future. This is great, however, this habit - like all habits - need to be managed. Too much preparation for the future can distract one from living and loving their life in the present. Everyday of your life has purpose - even now, before you're financially stable, with a family and big house.

Somehow at the end of a week in which I took 2 fat L's - I managed to be very proud of myself and content with life. This is because ultimately, I've been growing, and starting to understand more about the purpose behind L's and the best ways to respond to them.

There is a difference between "guilt" and the Christian definition of "conviction". The latter means to be remorseful and know wrong - while the other is a device used by the enemy to make you think you are too unworthy to have a relationship with God. It's time to get rid of the guilt before it kills you.
