Cinema Wellman

Since we were away for the tail end of last year, we weren't able to drone on and on about a bunch of movies we loved (or hated!).

Lucky you, that's what today's episode is all about.

As always, we have some films we think you should check out and other we would suggest you avoid like the pox.

Just when you were starting to think we had gone dark forever, Cinema Wellman is BACK with Season 4!!

Today's episode will attempt to explain our lengthy hiatus that was not our idea.

We will also run down our rankings of the most recent Best Picture nominees. If that seems like it was forever ago, it was.

We are very happy to be back, and we're glad you're back with us!

We are back with our 8th installment of one of our favorite recurring segments; WHICH WAS WORSE?!

As always, we pit two obviously bad films against one another, we grade it using our official WWW Rubric, and then we put it through the Lightning Round of Abuse in order to ultimately decide Which Was Worse!

Spoiler Alert: I LOVED one of today's films! Go figure!

Have you ever watched a movie, heard a song used in the soundtrack and think to yourself, "This song again?! Is this song in every movie ever made?!"

The answer for some songs is closer to yes than no!

Today's episode will cover a playlists worth of songs that appear over and over and over and over and over again. Sometimes in strange films that seem like odd fits.

So if you like Pina Coladas (good god, that's on this list) along with some other questionable choices being made over and over, join us!

Join us in Cinema Wellman as we break down the worst and best movies we screened here during the month of July!

Beware: there are sequels involved....and prequels!!!

Join us as we welcome Wes Anderson to our Director's Corner AND our Friends of Cinema Wellman Hall of Fame simultaneously!

We enlisted the help of seven other esteemed critics to compile a comprehensive ranking of all 11 of Wes Anderson's feature films.

No spoilers here at all since we'd love for you to explore the wonderful world of Wes Anderson on your own.

We'll just give you some ideas about where to start.

Join us for our 4th City Spotlight episode and our 100th overall episode!

We take a look at 9 films that successfully use London as a character.

The genres vary from action to rom com to horror to crime, and London changes along with the films.

Join us in Cinema Wellman as we break down the Best & Worst of the month of June (even though it technically isn't over).

One bad, four good!

Can't argue with that.

Mentioned in this episode:
Frank Bonner of "W.K.R.P. in Cincinatti"
Joanna Cassidy (without her snake)
and more!

Join us for a relatively quick episode detailing some of the items we somehow forgot to include the first time around.

Plus, a quick salute to the late Donald Sutherland.

Our "Director's Corner"/Wes Anderson Lovefest has been moved to next month in order to allow for rescreening of all 11 of his films.

Further scrutiny! :)
