We can lighten each other’s load, as we are both conscious of this fulfillment of hope, while we’re holding on to a remnant. We’re participation in this cosmic revelation of hope, while tangible, right here in our community, expressing it."

About Talk: Reminding yourself what you’re made for is probably a daily task. It’s easy to lose track of your purpose. Writing it down is helpful. Circle of Hope’s vision, what we’ve been given to do is, “We create an environment where people can connect with God and act for redemption. Loving the thirsty people of our fractured region, we keep generating a new expression of the church to resist and restore with those moved by the Holy Spirit.” That’s big! It’s big enough for everyone to fit in. It might be enough for you, but if you can’t find your way into it, find your way into something. What satisfies? What sustains? What gives?

About Talk: Give away your money, relate to people that might help you change the world, but use your voice: Defend the vulnerable like Day does in the Catholic Worker. In a world of endless voices, make your voice heard—it is meaningful. Share it with the world; voice your opinion, you have a lot to contribute to the general discourse. Don’t just deconstruct either, try to offer a vision of different world altogether. Protest and tear down, but promote and plant too. We are doing both in Circle of Hope and we need the partners to do it. Serve with us and make a difference. Your time and your voice are important to the work that we are doing. I hope you feel that and know that.

About Talk: Sundar Singh was a despairing young teenager in India asking for a revelation of God when Jesus revealed himself to him. He renounced his Sikh and Hindu traditions, to the horror of his family, and gave himself fully to the love of God. He donned the yellow robe of a Indian holy man, a Sadhu, to share the love of Christ everywhere he could. He leaves us the wisdom of a Christian mystic who can speak to the anxieties of our 21st century life.
