How to create a working environment that motivates people to take ownership of their work and aligns them with the goals and message of the organization? This was one of the fundamental questions that initiated the Reinventing Circus Organizations project. Four European organizations collaborated in this project with the aim of developing their structures to provide an excellent working environment for their employees and ensure the best possible experiences for their clients, students, and partners. Two brothers, Simon and Vincent Bruynickx from French-belgian Collectif Malunès, brought a show called BITBYBIT to Letní Letná 2023. The artpiece is their way to explore and share their unique brother bond and creative relationship. Its not only interesting because of the alignment of two brothers or the work with tension throughout an hour piece. They shocked the audience mainly by rediscovering an old circus technique of teeth hanging - but there’s more to it than just using the jaw. Growing up near the famous belgian Circus Ronaldo, where the magic happened, as Vincent and Simon say, they were always inspired by connecting the old with contemporary, and in BITBYBIT the do just that - in their own way. Elena Kirschbaum is a director of The Defiant, circus show by australian Highwire Entertainment which visisted Cirkuff Trutnov festival in june. The Defiant is a powerful and fierce circus piece made by women team only. In the interview we clearly answer the question why to talk and perform about women now. Its joyful and emotive, and it brings the theme of solidarity between women and nonbinary artists. Tomáš Václavek, původem ze Slovenska, tvoří spolu s Davidem Diezem Mendezem úspěšné cirkusové duo Lapso cirk, které sídlí v Barceloně. Podařilo se jim tam uspět, což je podle Tomáše výjimka, protože dělají něco, v čem jsou nejlepší – a jediní – na světě. Svou první inscenaci OVVIO přivezli i na letošní Cirkuff Trutnov, kde jsme si povídali o vzniku dua, které spolu mluví italsky, ale i o Tomášově cestě k cirkusu. Ta profesionální – tedy nastoupení na vysokou školu – začala až v 25 letech a pokračovala absolvováním prestižní švédské DOCH. Tomáš Václavek: We are the best in the world at what we do. And the only one, says Tomáš from the duo Lapso Cirk

Tomáš Václavek, originally from Slovakia, forms together with David Diez Mendez the successful cirkus duo Lapso cirk, which is based in Barcelona. They managed to succeed there which, according to Tomáš, is an exception. They are doing something in which they are the best – and only – in the world. They brought their first OVVIO production to this year's edition of Cirkuff in Trutnov, where we talked about the creation of the duo, who speak Italian together, but also about Tomáš's journey to the circus. The professional one did not start until the age of 25 and continued by graduating from the prestigious Swedish DOCH. Børre Isac L'orange is a circus teatcher at the Norwegian Trondheim Cultural School. He is one of the professionals taking part at Circus Base, a unique cultural and educational event that represents contemporary circus and its disciplines to the general public in Prague and Chomutov under the open sky. It is a place where all the diversity and scope of the contemporary circus come together. Jak může vypadat kreativní zpětná vazba? Existují nějaké techniky, které proces mohou usnadnit? Je jednodušší zpětnou vazbu dávat nebo přijímat? Tyto otázky pokládám v rozhovoru s Ondřejem Holbou. For Ondřej Holba the topic of feedback has been opened already at The Academy of the Performing Arts. In recent years, he has devoted himself more deeply to the topic. Performer, dancer and juggler Andrea Salustri presented at the festival Cirkopolis in Prague the Materia performance in which he explores the possibilities of one material, polystyrene. The role of the performer shifts towards the one of the facilitator, and the focus is constantly negotiated between object, manipulator and manipulation. We thus become witnesses of the harmonious play of objects and boundless imagination. Plzeňský Žongléros ansámbl se začal formovat z fotbalistů, kteří coby spolužáci na střední škole objevili pojky na žonglování. Od dob, kdy vystupovali na firemních akcích a maturitních večírcích vyrostli v soubor, který v Plzni vybudoval vlastní prostor, pořádá každoroční festival, tvoří autorské inscenace a učí děti v kurzech i příměstských táborech. Principál souboru Jiří Misař se spolu s dalšími členy snaží Plzeňákům ukázat krásu nového cirkusu. Doufá, že jeho děti půjdou jednou v jeho stopách. Jiří Misař: We like to teach circus because we see how much the children enjoy it

Žongléros ensemble from Pilsen began to form from football players who - as classmates in high school - discovered the art of juggling. Since the days they started performing at the events and graduation parties they have grown into an ensemble that has built its own space in Pilsen, organizes an annual festival, creates original productions and teaches children in courses and suburban camps. Kateřina Vaněčková je akrobatka, lektorka a zakladatelka BudeCirkus v Českých Budějovicích. Když se Katka stěhovala z Prahy do Budějovic, rozhodla se vzít si svou vášeň k cirkusu s sebou. Kateřina Vaněčková: I wish that BudeCirkus team continues to expand

Kateřina Vaněčková is an acrobat, lecturer and founder of BudeCirkus organisation in České Budějovice. When Kateřina moved from Prague to České Budějovice she decided to take her passion for the circus with her. Since there was no place in Budějovice where she could devote herself to it she founded it herself. This is how the BudeCirkus gradually came into being. It offers circus courses for children and for adults. What challenges does her center currently face? And what role do her teen students play in all this? Claudio Stellato is a multidisciplinary artist. He started his artistic career as a jazz musician in Milan while working as a street artist. Then he travelled and trained for several years in theatre and circus in different countries. In February 2022 at the Cirkopolis festival he presented one of his project called Work, a physical performance where every physical effort is pushed to the limit of exhaustion and leads to an absurd result. In autumne 2022 Claudio Stellato is back in Prague as a leader of the Circus Next Laboratory organised by Cirqueon center for contemporary circus. What should be the content of a circus laboratory in the 21st century? What does the circus tradition mean to young circus performers and to what extent does the circus become just a concept?
