  • 3042: Rain outside the window
Orange County, USA lockdown sound recorded by Stephen Michaels.

"I usually wake up to noise created by my roommates, but with quarantine, everyone's either still sleeping in or back home with their families."

  • 3050: Warning from the early birds
Shanghai lockdown sound recorded by Christine Yuan.
"I isolated myself from the whole world for almost one month, in those days, I wanna isolate from all the bad news online but I cannot, so I try to document the soundscapes around me, observed the small space, observed my heart, especially hearing the birds, feeding them, also hearing myself in my music composition.
"Maybe the nature just wants a dialogue with humanity, friendly for several years, but humans cannot hear, and the noise of entertainment drowning all the truth.
"The birds are the Messengers. On Pure Brightness Festival, I recorded the public alarm to memorialize all the victims in this Cov-19 pandemic, but in this recording, you can hear the birds just like the souls singing in the wind."
