In this first sermon of our series Word and Spirit, we look at the reason why Jesus is trustworthy. Jesus is our creator, our sustainer, and our guide so we are in good hands in him.

Pride is one of the themes that run through the book of Daniel. In Chapter 4 and 5, it is clear that the Most High God, being sovereign over earthly kingdoms, gives them to whom he will. In this story, we see that It is both pride and humility draws the gaze of our sovereign God. Pride invites God to oppose us and humility invite him to give grace.

As a people of God, living in spaces and times where God has been put aside, we need to be always ready to give a reason for our hope to those around us who find themselves in crisis moments.
