Dear Listeners,
In this episode of Civically Speaking, Councillor David Kirton, of Ward 3 with the City of Saskatoon (located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), joins the show from Lenore's backyard. Councillor Kirton (David) reflects authentically on his time so far on City Council - as he finishes his third year of his first four year term. We go deep into a key issue that has been impacting the ward he represents - homelessness - and some recent actions he has taken to bring about some critical actions.
We also touch on some other key city wide issues and how being an elected official is/has impacted David personally.
Worth a listen. Thanks for your time, Councillor Kirton. Much appreciation.

Thanks for tuning in,
Civically Speaking Podcast listeners!
Christine and I do a run through of major news story around the world - starting with Ukraine, heading over to China, and then landing in the USA before we connect on things closer to home in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan.
There was a glitch in part 2 with my connection to zoom getting garbled up - so lost the last part of the recording - so you will hear me solo for a good part highlighting some local Saskatoon stories - new local market, arena district, compost sites and wildlife.
I end with giving some thanks to my my co-host, Christina and to reminding you that it's membership month in CFCR.ca land so please renew or take out a membership to enjoy some special perks.
In the mean time, enjoy Spring!

Christina Cherneskey and I chat with Dale Richardson, a public affairs professional and former Sask Party operative, and Eric Bell, a Strategic Advisor at Saskatchewan Federation of Labour and former NDP operative. They join the show to talk about the recent provincial budget and the state of media in our province - and the role podcasts may play.
You can catch the weekly Saskatchewan political podcast Dale Richardson founded and produces by clicking here on its name right here... The SKoop.
Thanks for joining the show Dale and Eric. And a tease toDale - indeed there's a couple of good shows to listen to about political happenings in and around our province and beyond. The SKoop and Civically Speaking.
