TSN Insider, Darren Dreger joined the program. Started off with a bit of a dig at Ray Ferraro. Moved from that to the kicking motion in last nights game winning goal for Vegas. Says that if you are skilled enough to make that kind of play, it should count. Talked about what he is hearing with the Canucks and how they will do this year. DD says it’s all positive, speaking with brass around the league. GM’s around the league think they are a playoff worthy team, despite some questions on defence. There is a lot of faith in Demko and the tandem as a whole with Halak. Talked about Hamonic and Sutter and the latest on them.

Patrick Johnston of Post Media joined Matt and Blake after a busy long weekend for the Canucks. Talked about the Juolevi trade and his thoughts. Says they did well if well means to get a bust of a first rounder out of the picture. Talked about what Juulsen will bring to Abbotsford. Talked about Chiasson and what he will bring to the team. Well casted as a 4th line guy who can move up in a pinch, having played with McDavid and Draisaitl. Talked about Boeser and when he could be back. PJ’s best guess is that it’s muscular. Because we haven’t seen him skates suggests that it could be something there. Says the ice in Abby wasn’t great.
Charean Williams joined the show after a busy Week 5 in the NFL and Jon Gruden resigning as head coach of the Raiders. She didn’t cover JG on a regular basis in her time in Tampa. Talked about the emails, it’s a lot to take in 650 thousand. The question of who leaked them has not been answered. She guarantees that he isn’t the only one to talk and think like this. Thinks that is someone from the NFL who released them and wanted Gruden gone. Thinks that we might see some resignations that makes no sense on the surface that could stem from these emails. Talked about the Seahawks and if it is time to tear it down and rebuild. Didn’t know where they were headed with Russell Wilson, now it’s even more up in the air. Threw a trade scenario with HOU to maybe get a Deshaun Watson once all his legal matters are settled. Talked about Josh Allen and the Bills and taking the next step after making a huge statement against KC on the weekend. Charean talked about Urban Meyer and how much longer is in in the pro game. To get rid of him, you will need a negotiation. If he makes it past the bye-week, he will keep his job for the rest of the season. This has not worked out for either party.
Our Canucks reporter, Jeff Paterson joined in his regular spot. Started off by chatting about our poll question and if he is happy with the Canucks roster. Says there are a few too many holes for his liking. Talked about Brock Boeser and his physical state, based on what he saw at the rink. Talked about Chiasson and how he has worked his way onto his last three teams via the PTO. JPat thinks Motte is closer than we initially anticipated. Talked about where Rathbone might land in the lineup for the first game, if he does at all…
Yet another entertaining edition of Hot Take Tuesday with sizzlers being handed out like candy.

Rick Dhaliwal joined the show and started off, how else, insulting Wadden… Following that he ran down the lineup, saying that the lines for Travis Green are telling. Says that Boeser’s health will be important for the lineup. Olli Juolevi is nowhere to be seen. Questions if its time for a fresh start for him. Thinks that Rathbone has clearly won that 3rd pairing LD. Talked about Nic Petan. Says that TG has said that he is going to have to earn his spot on this team, doesn’t only come down to a previous relationship in Jr. Says there is no question that Petan has done what he needs to make this team. Rick talked about PDG and said that he has come in and done everything he needed to do to make this team. Says that the team is looking for a 4th line centre and keeping an eye on the waiver wire. Dhali said that because they didn’t pick up Fleury on Waivers from Seattle show that the team. Talked about Jonah Gadjovich and the plan that the Canucks had for him. Says that it was a tough day for Ryan Johnson. Talked about Travis Hamonic and his understanding of his situation.
Jeff Paterson, our Canucks reporter in his usual spot and started off chatting about Olli Juolevi. Doesn’t think he is injured, just an extra body that isn’t included in the main group. The Writing is on the wall and it says “Abbotsford, that way”. Talked about Quinn Hughes and his ice time.
It was Andrew’s day to sizzle, he had a doozie of one that was left to the listener to decide.

A massive day in sports on a Thursday edition of Sekeres and Price. Matt and Blake start off by talking about Carey Price and the courage it takes to enter the Player Substance Abuse Program.
With a preview of the Thursday Nighter, in Seattle, Cpt. Gregg Bell joined Matt and Blake a day early to talk about their chances against the Rams. Says tonight will determine how they feel about their season but 2-2 feels much better than 1-4 which they could have been staring down after the final whistle. No team has beaten, picked off, sacked Russell Wilson than the Rams. Talked about Chris Carson and how it would surprise him if he was in tonight, after not practicing all week. No one person will beat Donald, it has to be the scheme.
Thomas Drance of the Athletic joined Matt and Blake and started chatting about Jonah Gadjovich. Said that this was probably the right time to put him through while most teams are sitting around 30 players still. Talked about his season predictions.
Jeff Paterson joined on a busy day. Started off by talking about Jonah Gadjovich. Says there is good arguments on both sides. Thinks he deserved more from the Vancouver Canucks. Talked about how he only got 5 meaningful minutes in a mean-nothing game. Talked about their own draft picks in the later rounds who have made it. It’s not a long list… Talked about the preseason debuts for 40&43. Said that with the workout Jim Hughes put them through, coming down here was like Club Med. Conditioning won’t be the issue, timing is another matter.
It was a highly entertaining Take 5 Thursday on Gadjovich. You’re going to want to hear this.
