Eight Clare projects have been awarded a combined total of over €806,000 of a Government fund designed to recognise the contribution of communities hosting International Protection Applicants and Ukrainian Refugees.
Among those set to benefit are Bunratty Search and Rescue, which is receiving €86,000, while Tullyvarraga Hall in Shannon has also received €150,000.
Upgrades to the Nature Park at the Maid of Erin Roundabout also received €100,000.
However, the total figure granted to Clare represents less than 5% of the €22 million announced under the latest round of funding of the Community Recognition Fund.
To discuss this further, Alan Morrissey was joined by Shannon Fine Gael Councillor, Cllr Tony Mulcahy, and Ennis Tidy Towns Chair, Cllr Mary Howard.
