Class Dismissed

Last week it was the Democrats, and this week it is the Republicans’ turn to host the national convention convincing the world that they care about America. Compared to the Democrats it really should not be that tough. There was consistency throughout the first two evenings in hopes for a united America, which continues to be the land of opportunity and freedom. Between stories of small town workers keeping their families afloat through COVID-19 in a downturned economy to calls from minority politicians who dispel claims of racism in America, the RNC sent their message that President Trump should continue to be the commander-in-chief for the next four years.

After four long, boring, and completely hypocritical nights, the Democratic National Convention is finally over. It could be easily wrapped up in a few words: Donald Trump evil. That is the message the Democrats gave to try to convince voters across the country to vote for Joe Biden, who is said to be a nice guy. But there were a few takeaways worth noting in between the bouts of pure agony and boredom. Without further ado, these are the five takeaways from the convention that was about as alive as the candidate being propped up.

It is the happiest week of the past four years for the Democrats as they kicked off the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Monday, Aug. 17. During the first two nights of events, themed “We the People” and “Leadership,” all of those pretending to be excited about their dead candidate came out to boost their careers. From Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Andrew Cuomo and from Bernie Sanders to Michelle Obama, the entire lot of them were united behind one thing: orange man so very bad. Outside of that thought, it was just a whole lot of radical boredom.
