The program is actually holding a "March Of Dimes Auction;" the highest bidder gets Marie Wilson's services for a day (as a secretary only!)
Followed by The Great Gildersleeve starring Harold Peary, originally broadcast January 6, 1946, 78 years ago, Ben Returns from the Navy. Ben (Played by Ben Alexander) is back from the Navy, but Marjorie isn't interested.
Finally Lum and Abner, originally broadcast January 6, 1942, 81 years ago, Abner takes over the Store and Bakery. Lum's bakery business is being neglected while he's training Mousie, so he gives the whole thing to Abner.
